@seeingdots bloody hell indeed! Nothing seems to be straightforward in this pregnancy. Thanks though, the second scan was lovely.
@Expectingnumberfour welcome!
@FrazzyAndFrumpled stay!

rosettesforjill · 25/10/2018 22:25

@FrazzyAndFrumpled I am 22nd April so if I can be in, you definitely can! Although if DS is anything to go by, I'm going to be into May easily before this one arrives

@rosettesforjill don't let them fool you sneaky things these babies!! Ds1 42+2 ds2 42 ds3 38!! I was still at work!!!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 26/10/2018 07:07

Thanks everyone GrinBrew

Expectingnumberfour wow that must have been a surprise! At least for DC4 you realistically know to have no expectations... what you actually think will probably be different though haha

How is everyone feeling today?

rosettesforjill · 26/10/2018 11:37

@Expectingnumberfour I will expect the unexpected then!! Although slightly overdue wouldn't be unwelcome as we're about to start a load of building work on our house and I'm already stressed that it won't be finished!

@FrazzyAndFrumpled sorry I wrote it wrong. I'm trying to rewrite it but it's getting worse 😂 I need a strong drink....!

Firstbornunicorn · 26/10/2018 16:16

Is anyone thinking about those 3D gender scans? We're thinking about it as a Christmas gift to ourselves...

Amolly · 26/10/2018 16:21

@Firstbornunicorn I'm getting a gender scan for the same reason. A nice Christmas present to myself. Fella says to wait for the 20 week scan but I won't be able to :)

Got my first scan 7th November and I'm so worried. Not had any worrying signs but I've just lost the pregnancy feeling and not showing yet. Think I'm worrying more because it's my first pregnancy

Hope your all doing well x

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 26/10/2018 17:43

frankiefumbles the worst bit about pregnancy is missing out on all the drinks! (Lighthearted!)

Amolly it’s completely natural to worry when you get over the worst of the first trimester symptoms and you’re not showing yet, it’s easy to wonder if you’re really pregnant at all! I’m sure everything is probably just fine, try to relax and enjoy not feeling crappy while it lasts.

Firstbornunicorn · 26/10/2018 17:48

@Amolly fellas say a lot of things 😂. When we went to the private clinic the other day, they were so lovely, it really made me want to go back when I'm a bit less frazzled.

If it makes you feel better, I wasn't feeling very pregnant at all for about a week and a half. The morning of the scan, the vomiting returned and hasn't abated since! Some people are lucky and have longer periods of feeling OK :) I'm just unlucky and apparently not very resilient!

Expectingnumberfour · 26/10/2018 20:17

First appointment with my midwife tomorrow we're halfway through decorating so going to hide her in the kitchen! Boys will be out as they don't know yet 😳

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 07:57

@Expectingnumberfour nice you've got them coming to the house. I was told I could have a home birth which potentially I'm quite excited about (but probably won't have the balls to do) but my midwife is leaving in Dec. I didn't especially take to her )(or not take to her) but I'm really disappointed im not seeing the same person all the way through

seeingdots · 27/10/2018 08:43

Are you having a home birth @Expectingnumberfour? I'd love one and have been considering it but we're an hour away from the nearest hospital. We have a MLU closer which is our other option. Will probably end up being induced again though for all I know!

@FrazzyAndFrumpled my due date's now crept to 20th April and I'm sticking around! Guaranteed the first babies that arrive won't be the April ones!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 27/10/2018 08:59

Our trust likes to give everyone the option of a home birth (where safe to do so). I refused in my last pregnancy (but ended up being induced anyway) and will do so again, I’d be far too anxious and wouldn’t enjoy it at all. My plan is to use the MLU (which is in the same building, next door, to the labour ward). I’ve got to get the consultant’s agreement first, but I imagine that should be ok.

frankiefumbles I can understand your frustration at your midwife leaving. Hopefully you’ll form a nice bond with the MW that takes over your care.

I’ve been really lucky, the midwife I saw with DS has moved to another team and isn’t covering my local area or Dr surgery any more. She called me and offered to take over my care anyway Smile so some continuity there, which is great as she knows all about and understands my anxiety, so I don’t feel so awkward mentioning it to a ‘new’ midwife.

Expectingnumberfour · 27/10/2018 10:30

No, hospital for me-she's doing a booking visit so want to check we don't live in a hovel!! Just done parkrun on my way home now will report back after!!

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 11:21

@Expectingnumberfour I like the fact that now you are on your fourth you're knocking out the 5k s and didn't even notice you were pregnant. Whatever you've had, I want some of it 😂

Expectingnumberfour · 27/10/2018 11:50

Thanks @frankiefumbles was very slow today running with a 5 year old is a huge PITA. Still waiting for the midwife she's running an hour and a half behind!! (This really pisses me off - I've got stuff to be doing !) the boys are at grandmas with DH he's mending the other car and they have better tools!

ION I've tidied the kitchen for her arrival we are decorating and the rest of the house is a tip!!

Expectingnumberfour · 27/10/2018 12:39

Still waiting 😳1 hr 40 late now ......

Expectingnumberfour · 27/10/2018 13:05

After waiting 2 hours she got someone else to phone me and tell me she wasn't coming !! 😡😡😡😡

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 27/10/2018 13:14

That is unbelievably rude!! Angry

SurfingOwl · 27/10/2018 13:20

That’s not on! What a waste of a morning and all the hassle that goes into having a home appointment.

I’m opting for an ELCS so definitely not a home birth for me.

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 13:28

@Expectingnumberfour what a poor show. I haven't had a great experience. My midwife did up my notes and told me to collect them the following morning. Went to collect them and the GP surgery had no idea where they had gone, so cue a total mess and me having to go back to find them as a separate trip. Tbh I find the whole thing intrusive and mildly irritating. I mean, what hope is there if you've got to ten or so weeks and you're still unaware you're not meant to drink and smoke.

Expectingnumberfour · 27/10/2018 13:57

I was mildly shitty on the phone -lady very apologetic but they'd had an emergency (I understand they are spread thin) she has booked me in for 3.30 tomorrow at the hospital ( why they couldn't have done that earlier I have no idea!) I have a fair idea of what to do not do etc after 3 already I just want them to book my scan so I can get a firm date as I'm not v sure on my dates!! As I feel huge for 12 weeks for me, I'm either further along, (unlikely as I was on holiday and had to faff getting tampons etc) or it's twins 😳😳😳 I can feel my uterus up above my belly button. Will update with the boys of the next appointment tomorrow

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 17:15

Haha we will all await the change in username to expectingnumberfourandfive or if you're super lucky expectingnumberfourandfiveandsix 😉

purplestar9 · 27/10/2018 19:23

I don't think I came back to update you the other day! I had my scan on Thursday and my more accurate date is now 3rd May! All is okay and baby was very co-operative so all went smoothly! It's just so nice to finally know it's all okay and see the baby!
