Firstbornunicorn I’m sorry to hear that your baby’s measurements weren’t as expected today. However it is reassuring that there was a nice strong heartbeat. I hope tonight brings you some more answers.

To the PP who’s name I cannot see on this pag, who asked how far along I am and also has a scan tomorrow morning, I’m due 4 May so that puts me at 12+4 today. Excited to tell everyone!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 24/10/2018 17:25

Argh - should proofread! Whose and page Blush

rosettesforjill · 24/10/2018 18:07

Just read your other thread @Firstbornunicorn. How frustrating and worrying for you! Your midwife sounds useless. Hope you get a lovely clear picture tonight x

@dimblebimble I’m so sorry to hear of your sad news!

@Firstbornunicorn what an absolutely horrid time you’ve been having... you shouldn’t have to resort to a private scan due to poor NHS care. Once you have everything sorted you should be phoning up to complain! I would in your situation. Best of luck for your scan tonight x

CrystalBlaze · 24/10/2018 20:25

Ah @dimble I am so sorry to hear that. Make sure you take care of yourself and get lots of love and support xx

@firstbornunicorn also very sorry you're having such a worrying time. Let us know how it goes this evening.

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 20:50

I updated my other thread, but it turns out baby is absolutely fine and measuring 12+0!

Ah, fantastic @Firstbornunicorn!

HalfBloodPrincess · 24/10/2018 20:58

Brilliant news! What a shitty midwife though. Are you going to complain?

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 20:59

@HalfBloodPrincess I think so.... Maybe. Maybe it was just down to ancient equipment though? Suppose I should really complain about that anyway.

Pebblespony · 24/10/2018 21:00

That's great! God, that's very bad from the midwife. Disgraceful really.

fadgadget · 24/10/2018 22:09

I had a scan today and everything is ticking along. They brought me forward a few days based on the measurement. Felt pretty crazy seeing it moving around on the screen having grown from a beating blob in my 6 week scan.

Just catching up on the last chunk of posts, I’m so glad you’ve come out of that crappy experience with good news @firstbornunicorn, congrats!

SurfingOwl · 24/10/2018 22:10

That’s great news @Firstbornunicorn but what a worry caused by earlier. Did you find out if you have a tilted womb? Was this scan internal?

Firstbornunicorn · 25/10/2018 06:25

@SurfingOwl I meant to ask, but the question was on the tip of my tongue when the sonographer said "I can see baby!" So I promptly forgot. It wasn't even an internal scan. My midwife had said "a 12 week baby should pop up as soon as the probe touches you", which this did. So it just makes me think that she had no idea what she was doing.

frankiefumbles · 25/10/2018 07:58

I missed out on a lot -what a relief for you @Firstbornunicorn and what a total farce. Scan looking good! Having had a series of paranoid scans across my two MCs and this one, I can say that the quality of the machines varies greatly and there is no doubt the best scan I had was private in London (I'm from the southwest and we have poor machines down here in comparison).

@Dimblebimble I'm a bit late saying this but I'm so sorry to hear your news, everyone dreads a mmc and it's worse having had a scan where someone tells you it all looks healthy (I've been there, hugs). I hope you've got plenty of support around you. I can't remember your personal situation in terms of previous mc but there is loads of support around on the boards here for post-mc to talk things out. I found that really helpful.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 25/10/2018 17:58

Brilliant news Firstbornunicorn, I’m so pleased for you. Money well spent - although you really shouldn’t have had to! I’d be making a complaint.

I had my scan this morning. They moved my dates forward a whole week, now I’m 13+5 due on 27 April. As this thread is May-ish, am I ok to stay?

How did you get on this morning, purplestar9?

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 25/10/2018 17:58

Sorry fadgadget, glad your scan went well also. What’s your due date now?

Expectingnumberfour · 25/10/2018 19:29

Hi can I join?

Edd 11 May with number 4 - I only worked out last Friday that I was pregnant!! (You'd think I'd learn after 3 others!!)

I have 3 boys (10/7/5) DH excited I'm slightly terrified in a good way no one knows IRL yet - meeting midwife on Sat for the first time!

Feeling massive (fundual heigh just under my belly button 😳) currently being told in my september13 group that the likelyhood of twins goes up with age I'll be 38 when this one is here!!!

rosettesforjill · 25/10/2018 19:47

👋👋

frankiefumbles · 25/10/2018 20:07

@FrazzyAndFrumpled there are loads of people here who are end of May. No worries. Just irritating for us at the end of May because we are always behind on the milestones! Haha x

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 25/10/2018 20:16

frankiefumbles Unfortunately I’ll be ahead on the milestones, as baby is due end of April! But I’d like to stay still if that’s ok? X

Hello Expectingnumberfour Grin congratulations!

seeingdots · 25/10/2018 20:17

Just catching up and read your other thread @Firstbornunicorn. You've been through the ringer the last few days! So glad all's ok but bloody hell what a fuck up by your midwife.

Hi and welcome @Expectingnumberfour!

SurfingOwl · 25/10/2018 20:28

I’m end of April as well @FrazzyAndFrumpled and I think that even if we all had due dates in May, we’d span at least April to June with probably one of two making an even earlier appearance. Definitely stay. Smile

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 25/10/2018 20:34

Thanks SurfingOwl, that’s good logic!

zoClueless · 25/10/2018 21:22

Definitely stay @FrazzyAndFrumpled - your in now so no getting out, haha. End of April definitely falls within May-ish.

We got our letter with blood results today and low risk for both Downs and the Edwards. So pleased and now feel more confident sharing the news, so I guess we'll be telling a lot more over the next week - eek.
