I had the dream genie as well and it was pretty good (also good as a breastfeeding cushion post birth). I think as long as you're still comfortable lying on your back it's ok - I still am at the moment!

Gonna have to love you and leave you I'm afraid. Found out on Monday that I've had a missed miscarriage. Good luck everyone with your pregnancies 💕

@FrazzyAndFrumpled yay I'm not alone on that one then! How far along are you?

@HalfBloodPrincess it was lucky! Yes it's my first tomorrow, hoping it'll seem a bit more real after it!

@rosettesforjill thank you :)

@Lorrie3 ahh yes I recognise your name :) I have a feeling I'm gonna be moved back a few days but I guess I'll find out!

@Dimblebimble I'm so sorry to hear that, sending love your way.

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 14:04

I'm upset today after my scan this morning... Been told baby is only measuring 8 weeks when it should be around 12. Started a thread and did a big rant about how rubbish the care was, so that's made me feel a bit better now!

Lorrie3 · 24/10/2018 14:13

@firstbornunicorn the very same thing happened to me at 12 week scan and I was worried. We saw a string heartbeat though and they were very reassuring and said my dates we’re just wrong which was possible as I was unsure anyway. It’s hard not to worry but I’m still here two weeks later and have another scan in two weeks

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 14:14

@Lorrie3 I'm certain of my dates, though. Booked a private scan for tonight so we'll see what happens then

Lorrie3 · 24/10/2018 14:20

@firstbornunicorn just read your other thread and it really sounds like you had a horrible experience sorry to hear that . I did get a clearer pic which I think shapes wise kinda looks like yours! Good luck tonight and let us know how u get on. Don’t feel alone and know there is somebody out there in a similar position!

SurfingOwl · 24/10/2018 14:32

So sorry @Dimblebimble Flowers

Can understand today has been upsetting @Firstbornunicorn. Have you been told to go back for another scan or how were things left with the hospital?

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 14:35

@SurfingOwl they just said I must have my dates wrong and the midwife called me a little while ago to tell me she's referring me for a scan in 2 weeks to properly date the pregnancy. Presumably because I was so grumpy and argumentative 😂

SurfingOwl · 24/10/2018 14:51

I just wrote a really long reply @Firstbornunicorn and then it crashed! So I’m sorry if this sounds abrupt but do you know the position of your womb? Mine is retroverted and as a result it’s always hard for the baby to be found in the first trimester with an external scan; I need to have internal ones. I’m glad you’ll be having a repeat scan in a fortnight and I hope tonight’s scan gives you some answers in the meantime.

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 15:20

@SurfingOwl nobody has ever mentioned it to me. I had a scan to check for ovarian cysts about 18 months ago so presumably they would have mentioned it then? Although, when I had my 8 week scan at the hospital, the doctor did say he literally couldn't see ANYTHING transabdominally.

SurfingOwl · 24/10/2018 15:32

@Firstbornunicorn ask when you have your scan tonight. It’s quite common to have one so it might be nobody ever thought to mention it to you. If you have, it could be what the issue was today rather than the size of the baby. Will the private scan place tonight do internal scans if needed?

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 15:37

@SurfingOwl I think they should have the equipment to do internal scans so I'll make sure I ask if it's the same story as today. I'll definitely ask about the position of my uterus - but I did read online that it should right itself by about 12 weeks, so I won't pin all my hopes on that being the issue.

SurfingOwl · 24/10/2018 15:39

I was almost 13 weeks at my dating scan and after two attempts at an external scan, it had to be internal.

MimiSunshine · 24/10/2018 16:22

@Firstbornunicorn I don’t know if this will be if any comfort and I only mean it reassuringly but I had my scan on Monday and they put my dates forward (so I know, very different to your situation) but the dates they now have me at, mean I conceived before I had unprotected sex and like you I know my dates and there wouldn’t have been any lingering swimmers.

So they do get it wrong and while 2 wks is worrying for you it does sound like from pp there could be very good reasons for that 🤞🏼

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 16:29

@mimisunshine you and I are obviously having magical pregnancies! 😂 It is kind of reassuring to know that they can be way off. And going by my scan pic, I have no idea how she'd have measured from that.

SurfingOwl · 24/10/2018 16:46

My pregnancy was put forward to a date that just isn’t possible and at one stage was a week earlier than it could possibly have been. I know it’s quite normal to be a few days out but four weeks is a lot.

@Firstbornunicorn are you on the Facebook group? If so, you’ll have seen how blurry my pictures were and that was internal.

Firstbornunicorn · 24/10/2018 16:49

@SurfingOwl no, but I might join it just to have a nosey 😂
