@firstbornunicorn try grapefruit juice or bitter lemon - both helped with nausea previously for me.

Firstbornunicorn · 26/09/2018 22:12

@L0kiWh0 I've tried them both and they did work to an extent... But the only problem was that if they did come back up, it was like my insides being flooded with acid!

Dimblebimble · 27/09/2018 08:11

You probably already know this, but don't take cold and flu tablets! I have a terrible cold and asked dh to get me paracetamol but he got cold and flu tablets. I took 5 or 6 tablets yesterday throughout the day, then this morning now that I'm thinking a bit clearer I did a google search and they contain phenylephrine which is really bad for the baby and can restrict blood flow from the placenta and cause birth defects, especially in the first trimester.

I now feel so guilty! I should have checked first. I hope I haven't done any lasting damage :(

SurfingOwl · 27/09/2018 08:56

Falling apart sums me up perfectly @Firstbornunicorn and the antibiotics make me feel quite yuck as well. Sorry you are the same but glad for the company.

How is everyone else today?

MissSmith80 · 27/09/2018 09:06

I am so tired today. I've got this morning off work as I'm off to a conference later until Saturday lunch time and I could just crawl back in to bed 😴😴😴

Firstbornunicorn · 27/09/2018 09:24

@Dimblebimble oh bless you. I'm sure it'll be ok - think of the number of people who go through the whole pregnancy not knowing and it turns out fine ❤️ fingers crossed for you

Firstbornunicorn · 27/09/2018 09:26

I'm waiting to see my GP about my low blood pressure, but funnily enough there were no parking spaces, which has probably put my BP right up!! 😂

Pebblespony · 27/09/2018 10:16

I had the most horrendous nightmare about having a miscarriage. Woke the house up crying in my sleep. Very shaken by it still. Thought I was handling the wait for the scan well bit obviously not.

inkworks273 · 27/09/2018 10:46

Morning everyone

@Pebblespony I've had a similar dream. I woke up still believing it for a second. Was so relieved when I realised. I've just been having the weirdest dreams!

@Dimblebimble I'm sure it's ok. It must happen all the time.

Well I called my doctor to see if she could give me anti sickness tablets to take away on holiday just in case my sickness gets any worse but it was a hard no from her lol.

I'm so scared I'm going to end up so sick that my holiday will be ruined. I'm also absolutely dreading the flight!

SassehMonsta · 27/09/2018 11:17

I've woken up with no nausea. Hard not to worry. Can't focus at work.

earlybirdhasanap · 27/09/2018 11:30

@inkworks273 how many weeks are you?

Pebblespony · 27/09/2018 11:31

@Sasseh I'm sure it'll be fine. Early Pregnancy is one big worry.

inkworks273 · 27/09/2018 11:31

@earlybirdhasanap I'm 6 weeks exactly!

Dimblebimble · 27/09/2018 11:54

@SassehMonsta I haven't had any nausea at all (yet! Only 6 weeks). I read somewhere it often comes in waves, some days are worse than others, so I wouldn't worry.

Dimblebimble · 27/09/2018 11:54

Thanks @inkworks273, nothing I can do about it now anyway.

L0kiWh0 · 27/09/2018 12:03

I’m only getting flashes of nausea a few times a day, mostly when I’m hungry. They seem worse at night though when I’m lying down

SassehMonsta · 27/09/2018 12:21

I'm making the most of it and eating everything I can lay my hands on. Right now, it's leftover Chinese.

sprinkleofsunshine · 27/09/2018 13:07

Hello can I join please? I'm on another t thread that seems to be going for those of us due around the same time.

I'm 6 weeks exactly today by my calculations. Been sick every day since 5 weeks or Terrible nausea, anyone else's started early? Did it continue at the same rate?

Firstbornunicorn · 27/09/2018 13:20

@sprinkleofsunshine welcome!

It's hard to remember as all my days are blending together, but I've been sick about 3 weeks now so it must have started around then!

I'm 8+4 and feeling relatively normal today for the first time. Hopefully it's the beginning of the end of the terrible nausea.

cleverusername123 · 27/09/2018 13:32

Hello, I'm new here, at 7+5 and still in shock that I'm pregnant. Being 40 I thought it would take months and months. Any older mamas here as well?

rosettesforjill · 27/09/2018 14:31

Welcome new people! Grin

I finally got through to someone to talk about booking in appointment- turns out the midwives haven't bothered booking it for me yet Angry

Anyway I was super nice to the woman I spoke to so hopefully she will be motivated to stick a rocket up the appropriate arses!

Thank you all :-) when are you getting your initial appointments? I registered last week and the drs will send my form off to the midwives, apparently it will be between 8-10 weeks which makes me think my scan will be over 12 weeks.

Don't think I'm going to get an early one either so the sooner the better really. Not heard anything from the midwives as of yet.

rosettesforjill · 27/09/2018 14:56

@sprinkleofsunshine as per the above, I still don't know when mine will be and I'm 9+1 - they're bloody useless! I did get a scan appointment straight away though for 12 weeks exactly so I don't think they necessarily have to be very far apart

L0kiWh0 · 27/09/2018 15:03

@cleverusername123 I’ll be 38 when baba is due. Was 36 for my last baby and 22/23 for my first 2!

MissSmith80 · 27/09/2018 15:40

I'm 38 and it's my first so older mum to be here!
