Can you build up to the end of the week by complaining of some illness so you just aren’t well enough @Rubberduckies?

Mine don’t hurt at all and haven’t grown either.

Beckyv88 · 26/09/2018 10:49

Morning everyone!

Mine have grown already and hurt from the start, one of my main symptoms. Wish they wouldn’t grow too much as was already a C/D.

frankiefumbles · 26/09/2018 11:12

Oh ladies. I'm going to go right in here with something totally grim. Massive apologies.

The last two mornings I've been beside myself with nausea. This morning I was convinced I was going to puke in Tesco.

On both days, I've gone to the loo for a #2, at different times of the morning, and within 5 mins of the deed being done, the nausea has lifted to a point where it's manageable. WHAT ON EARTH is going on?

How is this possibly a thing? Biologically what's going on?! Is my brain playing tricks on me? It seems linked to the #2 and not to the time of morning...

Grim. Am I the only one...Blush

DietCoke1 · 26/09/2018 11:16

Morning everyone!

Great news on the scans to those who had them!

@pebblespony sounds reassuring that the sonographer was optimistic- was probably just a tad early, this happened to a friend of mine.

Holiday is nearly over- we are in a villa so have managed to make my own drinks a lot and pretend they are alcoholic. Went to a wedding and nursed the same glass of prosecco for hours!
Nausea has started I think- vomitted last night at 2am which seems a bit weird.

Firstbornunicorn · 26/09/2018 11:18

@frankiefumbles I have no idea!! It is a bit grim, but yes, that has happened to me. Nausea built back up again within a couple of hours, though.

SassehMonsta · 26/09/2018 12:15

Think about your stomach - part leads to throat (vomit) part goes to your bowels (poo!). Once you have emptied your bowels then your stomach has less to grumble about.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 26/09/2018 12:44

@frankiefumbles It sounds a bit grim but at least it’s helping alleviate your nausea somewhat! If it makes you feel better I pooped and vomited at the same time - can’t say It was anything other than grim. Pooping does not help me sadly hahaha!

@pebblespony that’s all sounding positive and hopefully you’ll see that little heartbeat next week. It’s terrible having to wait but baba is cooking away fine.

@firstbornunicorn yay little bean... not yay for UTI

@DietCoke1 I’m jealous - that’s all I can say. It’s pissed it down here for days on end and I would love a bit of sunshine.

inkworks273 · 26/09/2018 13:50

I'm feeling pretty sick but not actually being sick. I'm due to go to Spain on Saturday and I'm worried it's only going to get worse. Do you think my GP would prescribe me anti sickness pills just in case? Or would I be able to get them from a doctor in Spain if necessary?

Firstbornunicorn · 26/09/2018 17:40

@inkworks273 I'm sure it's worth trying your GP to see what they say. They might not even need to see you and it would give you massive peace of mind

zoClueless · 26/09/2018 17:42

Has anyone here been ill yet and need to take painkillers? I've got an awful headache and was going to take some paracetamol (hoping that it'd at least take the edge off) but I've only got soluble Panadol ActivFast. It says in the booklet to consult dr before taking it if pregnant. I wasn't sure if this is something all paracetamol says to cover themselves or there is something extra in the ActivFast as I swear paracetamol is ok....

BeautifulSlang · 26/09/2018 17:51

I've been dreading doing another (4th! 😂🙈) Clear Blue test in case I didnt get that longed for 3+ weeks symbol, but I just did it and got the result I was after, yay! Ive been so anxious that maybe things wern't progressing as I'm not really getting many symptoms, and my boobs are no longer sore. But this has given me the reassurance I needed 💛

L0kiWh0 · 26/09/2018 18:10

@zoclueless I have sinusitis - I get it chronically and would usually reach for the solpadeine so am really struggling with just paracetamol

Pebblespony · 26/09/2018 18:16

What does the ingredients list of the actifast say?

SurfingOwl · 26/09/2018 19:47

I’m really struggling with acid reflux already. It’s not helped by being on four antibiotics per day for a uti and kidney infection which means I can’t take omeprazole within two hours of the antibiotics. So much for my early night!

Beckyv88 · 26/09/2018 20:54

Hi everyone, I’m kind of freaking out as I went to a yoga class - I go quite regularly - and I knew to take it easy avoid jumping or anything like that. Only I didn’t realise you’re not supposed to do twists and o did a few. I’m so worried now that I’ve done something terribly wrong. Anyone done similar or done yoga during pregnancy?

zoClueless · 26/09/2018 21:13

Just says active ingredient is paracetamol 500mg and other ingredients Sorbitol powder, various types of sodium based stuff, dimeticone and Citric acid.
In the end I managed to walk past a shop to get a regular packet of tablet paracetamol. One of the cheap packs, nothing fancy and it still has the warning so I'm guessing they all do.
Internet seems to say paracetamol is fine so I ended up taking some as my journey home from work was horrendous. I knew I wouldn't be up for eating dinner if I didn't start to feel bit better and that's a vicious cycle as I'd feel sick when hungry anyway!

zoClueless · 26/09/2018 21:14

@Beckyv88 all the trainers that take the classes I do have told me that I can continue exercise as normal in first trimester. As long as I drink plenty of water throughout and stop it get too overheated or feel dizzy.

zoClueless · 26/09/2018 21:16

Should I that I don't do yoga though so check with your teacher. My Pilates teacher hasn't had to give me any alternatives in class yet.

TooManyBooksTooLittleTime · 26/09/2018 21:19

@beckyv88 I'm sure at this stage twisting is not advised because you're more likely to pull muscles, as your joints are looser. No harm done to baby and, if you're not in agony, you can be pretty certain you've not damaged yourself either!

Beckyv88 · 26/09/2018 21:20

@zoclueless thank you that has made me feel a bit better. I’ve been googling and some places say to avoid loads whereas others are more relaxed. I hope it’s ok. I’ll definitely be way more careful in future.

Beckyv88 · 26/09/2018 21:22

@toomanybookstoolittletime thank you. I hope so. I think because some twists can compress your stomach area also. I’ll just be really careful from now on!

TooManyBooksTooLittleTime · 26/09/2018 21:30

I thought stomach compression was more of a worry later on, but it's difficult as there does seem to be conflicting advice out there.

Firstbornunicorn · 26/09/2018 22:01

Gosh @SurfingOwl you sound a bit like me, at least if we're falling apart, we can do it together!! 😂

@Beckyv88 I would try not to worry - what's done is done anyway, but I wouldn't think baby will have been annoyed in the least by stretching. If it makes you feel better, my cat jumped off my headboard right onto my abdomen yesterday!! But baby had a strong heartbeat today and probably didn't notice.

Guys, I've just discovered I can keep the caffeine-free version of Mountain Dew down. I know it's not ideal, but water, orange juice, and anything sensible is making me feel super ill, and it's better to be hydrated than not. So if any of you are having the same issue, try that!

Beckyv88 · 26/09/2018 22:04

@firstbornunicorn thank you! I’m trying not to worry or dwell on it too much. Feel so stupid though - need to start thinking about stuff way more!

That’s good about Mountain Dew. I’m not having too many aversions yet just mushrooms, weirdly? Im still early so we’ll see.

Firstbornunicorn · 26/09/2018 22:06

@Beckyv88 I don't like mushrooms at the best of times, but I find if I'm already feeling rough, even just the smell of them makes me feel ridiculously unwell. There must be something about them.
