@pebblespony has the spotting stopped? Have you called anyone? Sending hugs xx

Pebblespony · 24/09/2018 14:47

My boss had to drive me home from work as I started hysterically crying. Spotting seemed to have stopped but a lot of cramping. Going to try to see a doctor this evening.

Pebblespony · 24/09/2018 15:33

Have an appt at the early pregnancy unit in hospital tomorrow. Thanks for all the support.

frankiefumbles · 24/09/2018 16:11

@Pebblespony sorry to hear you're suffering. Some spotting can be perfectly normal, but of course it doesn't stop it from being scary. It's quite handy to pop a pad in because you can get a better idea of how much you're bleeding. They say less than a pad is fine. But of course that's no consolation!

I've had a few cramps today and I'm rather hoping it's wind, but very easy to get worried. A lot of people seem to have symptoms similar to period cramps during the pregnancy so...some cramps can be fine.

Not long to wait til your appointment now c

Teladi · 24/09/2018 16:48

Good you went home and good you have an appointment so soon. Take it easy x

MysteriousSheep · 24/09/2018 17:36

Hope everything is okay @pepplespony

MysteriousSheep · 24/09/2018 17:39

Posted too soon! Meant to say, hope everything is okay @pepplespony - the cramping/pain I had last night was very intense, plus bright red (heavier than spotting, but not soaking pads) bleeding. Now settled, just a bit tender - and like I said, there was a happy looking baby in there when I got scanned this morning. This stage of pregnancy is sooo nerve-wracking!

Emma88W · 24/09/2018 17:54

Hi everyone! Just thought I’d introduce myself... I’m very early days 4w 4d with my first. A few friends have had miscarriage so very nervous about that. Have booking in appointment booked for 18th Oct then an early scan on 21st, will tell parents then!

Mcdonald234 · 24/09/2018 18:26

@dreaminofholidays I feel the exact same I AM JUST SO TIRED! I can get through work but I have to nap as soon as I get home then I can't face anything at night. Nausea has stopped which is good but the tiredness is killing me. @pepplespony Hope everything works out, I'm sure it will x

Firstbornunicorn · 24/09/2018 22:48

Ugh, I knew it wasn't normal to feel this crappy. Just took my temp and the fever alarm went off. Don't know what's causing it, except that I feel generally crap and run down. I've had the works - headaches, morning sickness, back pain, tummy pains. Any ideas what to do?

dreaminofholidays · 25/09/2018 07:09

@pebblespony all the best for today, we will be thinking of you xxx

@firstbornunicorn sorry to hear you have a fever that's the last thing you want right now. I don't really have any pregnancy knowledge so I would call the doctors/midwife and see if you are allowed anything or what they recommend. Look after yourself xxx

rosettesforjill · 25/09/2018 07:47

Hope everything's ok today @Pebblespony x

Welcome @Emma88W!

Still no booking in appointment yet and I'm 8+6 today. Called yesterday and left a message but no response Angry getting a bit worried about it now!

I keep wanting to get up for an early fun but I'm randomly waking up for an hour at a time at night and I need the extra hour asleep in the morning. I don't remember this insomnia last time Sad

@rosettesforjill it’s different in every area but in mine we see the midwife at our local GP surgery. Can you call yours and see if they can help? Alternatively if you google Senior Midwifery Team + your city / county you should get the details up, usually on a web page of your local hospital. There should be someone listed as the community midwife matron (or similar). I would then try and give them a call

mayago · 25/09/2018 08:33

I hope everything goes well today @Pebblespony

Paracetamol is the only thing you can take @Firstbornunicorn Being I'll while pregnant or breastfeeding is the worst!

Welcome and congratulations @Emma88W

@rosettesforjill I referred myself to midwives before hitting the 4 week mark, and dutifully got a letter back a few days later with my appointment. It's for when I'm 11+5. Not like I haven't given them enough notice.. what really frustrates me is the midwife makes the 12 week scan appointment during the booking in, so not a lot of time to prepare and book time off work for that one.

rosettesforjill · 25/09/2018 08:44

I have my scan appointment, just not booking in! Have left several messages for community midwives but no response - so frustrating!

Welcome to all the newbies.

Sorry to those who are feeling unwell.

I’m still really suffering from the cold and I now have a huge bump. I’m not really sure how I am going to hide the pregnancy for much longer.

Beckyv88 · 25/09/2018 09:59

@surfingowl wow how far along are you? I’m hoping I don’t show too soon as I’m going to have to hide from work until at least November. Do you think that’s wishful thinking? First pregnancy so no idea what to expect!

MimiSunshine · 25/09/2018 10:00

@rosettesforjill as you’re not getting anywhere I’d be tempted to get in touch with PALS and see if that puts a rocket up someone

Beckyv88 · 25/09/2018 10:01

@rosettesforjill I haven’t heard anything about any appointments yet. I got referred on Saturday so I guess it might still be a while, really want to hear something though!

SurfingOwl · 25/09/2018 10:15

I’m only nine weeks (or possibly 8+6) by my calculations @Beckyv88 although an early scan put me a few days ahead. I don’t even have the excuse of twins!

inkworks273 · 25/09/2018 10:21

Morning everyone.

I'm 5+5 today and definitely starting to feel a bit nauseous. And to top it off I have a sore ear. Quite worried as I'm off to Fuerteventura on Saturday. Flying and sore ears don't go well together!

Beckyv88 · 25/09/2018 10:31

@surfingowl ah i’m only 5+3, will have to invest in some baggy jumpers for work as the weeks go on!

kiltedsheep · 25/09/2018 11:44

@SurfingOwl ditto with bump! Also my boobs have become too big for my bra but I just don't want to buy a new one which might only last a few months.

I don't feel as nauseous as I did last week. Am 9 weeks today so hopefully am nearing the end of the truly crappy bit of the pregnancy.

Hang in there everyone!

kiltedsheep · 25/09/2018 11:48

@Pebblespony thinking of you Thanks

Dimblebimble · 25/09/2018 12:05

Hi everyone,

Back from holiday now and no further bleeding since that one time on Friday evening. I tried to ring the early pregnancy unit but it just rings and rings and then eventually hangs up. I looked online and I think I'd need to speak to the GP and get a referral anyway but it takes around 5 weeks to get an appointment. Phoned the midwife to call me so hopefully she does! All of the documents they gave me in my pregnancy pack say to call if you experience any bleeding but they don't make it easy.
