MamaMaiasaura · 12/06/2007 21:36

I cried when watching doctors this afternoon I am a saddo. Knackered now, waiting for eastenders repeat then sleep. Ds had playdate today, he has another tomorrow, but his friends mum is also a very good friend so am cooking roast for everyone. Keeping busy is helping the time pass quicker.

Fruitful - I had placenta prevaria with ds but it also moved up. Ended up with c-section tho (wont post birth story cos long one and a bit scarey). I hoping to go for VBAC, would love a home birth but not sure they will agree somehow.

Watching britains got talent - it is hilarious!

Jenswish · 12/06/2007 22:23

Fruitful - thank god all is ok hunny, you had me worried.

Beller - 4head (its something that you rub on your head to take away headaches) otherwise you can have paracetamol if you want.

Still itchy, still tired!! and so I want a scan!!

Hello and congrats to all the newbies

Speak to ya later

fruitful · 12/06/2007 22:25

Awen, you know they don't have to agree, don't you?

This site is good - www.caesarean.org.uk/ (vbac info in spite of the name)

I've had two caesareans now, one for footling breech and one for a placenta that didn't move up. Never been in labour. I can't face planning another homebirth though!

plummymummy · 12/06/2007 22:38

Hi everyone. Fruitful I am so delighted that all is well with the baby Take it easy til the next scan. Brill news. You must be so happy

pussycatmomma · 12/06/2007 22:48

hello everyone
Im not even going to attempt a round up, I am no mrs mc! The thread is so busy, yay! lots of chat, but im sorry i cant do multi replies on everyone, so i'll just try to add my twopence worth and fit in what i remember!!
Its my birthday today or it has been, im about ready for my bed now. 32, or twenty-twelve as i much prefer to think of it.
Been so, so very tired for the past few weeks and also unbelievably emotional. Been crying at virtually everything, anything can set me off, even cried at bloody "Springwatch" on tv the other night! Cried when reading my birthday cards. Been feeling upset and emotional, think its got to be my hormones.
Just read the post from fruitful - that is truly wonderful news, I am so pleased, as are all the other ladies here fruity. YAY!!!But then further down I noticed a message from skibump....I know she wont read this now but just need to say how sad and sorry I am that she has experienced what we all are fearing the most. Does anyone know if she had any bleeding? Was there anything to indicate that she may lose the baby - especially after seeing the baby and the heartbeat
I know this may sound self centred, and im so sorry if it will come across this way, but the thought of the baby suddenly not being there is my biggest fear. After we had the scan to show heartbeat etc at 7 weeks, dh tried to reassure me i did not need to worry so much now, but now i am hugely worried all over again. How can this just happen??? Maybe i am just being really naive or just too sensitive i dont know. This is such a long awaited baby for us and so loved and wanted already.... i cant describe how desperate the feeling is to imagine it being taken away from us now I feel desperatly sad for anyone who has experienced loss in this way.....
Sorry didnt mean to bring the thread down, you were all sounding so happy!
I will be 8 weeks on thursday and (touch wood) no more bleeding or anything extra for me to worry about (apart from skibump) and just have to wait 1 more week for next scan which is a week on thursday.
hello to everyone again and sorry i cant do the good report/roundup/hello style post, please put up with me!!!

I think it is a fear for all of us. We just have to get through it. The first trimester is the worst by far. Happy birthday Maybe look at your pg as an early birthday pressie

pussycatmomma · 12/06/2007 22:56

hiya plummy...... im sure you are right. I certainly do think of the prg as a gift, and am the most grateful i have ever been for anything in my life. Feel absolutely blessed. I didnt mean to bring things down, but was just wondering if other people go through the same thought processes..
No matter what happens, each day I think, "well i have never even been prg before, never mind this much prg" so each day I appreciate and am grateful for. I think i just cant get it into my head, probably wont until baby is actually here...

OP posts:
plummymummy · 12/06/2007 23:04

You're not bringing the mood down at all - just voicing what a lot of us already feel. It's good to air these things. I personally feel that I can't plan ahead atm. I am taking each day as it comes but I have a target to reach each week (friday as it represents a week further in the pg). I won't let myself read my pg book beyond the stage that I'm at incase I jinx the pg. Very superstitious

teenagersagain · 13/06/2007 00:10

Hi Ladies,
I am feeling braver tonight & have removed myself from the list, but I also wanted to say bye, it seems rude to just drop out.
I will be brief, but at my 9wk scan last week, they could not find a heartbeat, everyone's secret fear, I know.
I am now in limbo waiting for my body to catch up with what's happened...it's a very surreal feeling.
Although this was an unplanned baby, we are both terribly upset & would probably try again, but dp had a vascectomy the day before my scan, so I should think that's our babydays over with...although ddp muttered something about still having 25 sperm laden ejaculations left, which are mine for the asking, apparently!
Much, much Empathy to skibump
Lots of warm pregnancy vibes to you allxxxxx

Teenagersagain- So sorry to hear that hun, mine too was unplanned, but to think of losing little beany now is unthinkable, my heart goes out to you both xx

Katy1- I was watching a programme last night on home births on living channel....looked good, not sure if its an option for me? Does everyone get the option of a home birth? Although I dont even know where my home is going to be in Dec, so that might be a problem if im crashing at my sisters!

Thanks for the update Mrsmcjnr, great as always!

I really am usually quite emotional, but i have had none of the crying episodes at all? Maybe i was all cried out in the beginning over now ex?

I dont have a date for a scan yet im 11 weeks tomorrow, and the midwife that deals with our surgery is off this week..I hope she gets her finger out on monday!! Or I shall be calling!!

Hugs to everyone that needs them, and yes this first trimester really is quite a rollercoaster! xxxxx

LilyLoo · 13/06/2007 09:03

Hello again everyone. I'm sorry to have missed out on all the news but hopefully am back as feeling slightly better. Have been so sick for the past couple of weeks i haven't even been on here.
Hope everyones ok and feeling well.
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but is anyone planning a home birth. I am seriously considering it and have discussed it with mid wife.

MamaMaiasaura · 13/06/2007 09:38

teenagers again. I am so so sorry. xx

Bettymamma · 13/06/2007 10:04

Teenagersagain - I'm so sorry to hear that - that's shocking . I hope that whatever you want for the future happens. Take care.

Lilyloo - morning, a few of us are considering home birth I think, me included, if all's ok. The Livingtv home birth programme is a little bizarrely addictive. I do worry a little about what the neighbours would think...

pussycatmomma - hope you're feeling ok. We all go through that worry alot I think. Being 1 day off 11 weeks I've almost got used to being pg and would be devastated if things were wrong.

Hope everyone else ok. xx

sabinar · 13/06/2007 10:08

hi teenagersagain - so sorry to hear about the results of your scan... you're so right, it's something I'm certainly steeling myself for when my first scan date finally arrives. Be kind to yourself...

LilyLoo - I never thought I would but I'm also seriously considering a home birth. I think I'm going to end up going with an independent midwife - I really want consistent care and to know who will be there for me when the birthing bit hits - and the two that I'm talking to at the moment are very into homebirth, which is encouraging me down that path. They make it sound all very nice, and friends of mine have had horror births in hospital (not in the UK tho')... which I'd love to avoid.

Just trying to get my head around whether I'd be able to cope with such minimal pain relief!

gingeme · 13/06/2007 10:11

teenagersagain I am so sorry your pg has ended but if you are determined to try again do. I know it sounds harsh but if you can do it once you ca do it again. I did and again and again oh yeah and again.
Glad your feeling better Lillyloo ms is a real pain isnt it? Fortunately Im feeling better today. Mind you I slept better and my nose doesnt seem so stuffy this morning.
Having done a home birth I have to say they are brill. The realy brill bit is when youve just given birth and your dh/dp says do you want a cup of tea? I dont think Ive enjoyed a cup of tea more in my life
Many happy returns pcm. I know what you mean about the worries of the first trimester. I panic if I feel a bit 'too wet' down there. I immediately pop to the loo to make sure all is ok.
Jenwish where are you itchy? With my 3rd pg my legs were terribly itchy at the tops and my pharmacist told me to get some Eurax cream. Its brill. Always got a tube in the medicine cupboard.
Anywya enough of my waffeling. Washing machines finnished now. Ho hum.
Take care all xxx

beller · 13/06/2007 10:14

did you watch it last night Bettymamma? i couldnt work out where he had hung the rope she was swinging off!!

gingeme · 13/06/2007 10:28

rope! fill me in please?

Naetha · 13/06/2007 11:27

So sorry to hear the sad news Teenagersagain, like Pussycatmomma said, it really is our worst fear

For the first time in about 2 years as well I've got a really nasty UTI. I used to get them all the time, but got a lot more careful and thought I'd managed to crack it! Anyone know WHY we get more UTIs when we're pregnant?

I also have something called Interstitial Cystitis, which is like normal cystitis, but you get it all the time! Its not quite as painful, but it can be really bad at times. The only thing that keeps it under control for me is antihistamines, and when I can't take these I can barely move Anyone else got IC? I know its not that common, but one of the supposed treatments (as it were!) is to get pregnant!

Think I'm going to spend the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself and drinking apple tango...

Bettymamma · 13/06/2007 11:36

Beller missed it last night. Sounds like a classic! Damn! Do tell more.

Gingeme - have not worn red, marroon or black knickers since finding out I'm pg. Jst can't risk not being able to see what's going on.

pcm - apologies for not putting on my last post - happy birthday for yesterday!

Sabinar - you may surprise yourself with the pain. I found the tens machine helped - I walked into hospital 9 and half cm dilated wearing one! and bath/birth pools are amazing.

Bettymamma · 13/06/2007 11:38

Cranberry juice Naetha! I hope you are ok. I used to suffer horrendously from uti when I was at uni. I ended up in hospital with them a couple of times. I got them last time I was pg but not as bad. I think you need to keep yourself hydrated as much as poss. I think your more likely to get uti cos of your uterus pushing on your bladder but I'm not sure.

LilyLoo · 13/06/2007 11:43

ooh glad to see a few others considering or having had a home birth already. My neighbour just had her fourth at home and said she wished she had done it with all of them.
If it happens in the day i will get one of the 8 midwives on the team and i know most of them but if it happens at night i would get who ever is on call. I just would like the one to one care which was seriously lacking in my last birth.
The pain relief thing i am ok with , had nothing for my last one.
Sorry to all who have had bad news i will be so glad to get my twelve week scan but still two weeks to go ! Despite the ms being terrible i know it's all a good sign i guess.

BWMum · 13/06/2007 11:53

Hello everyone,

Teenagersagain - really sorry to hear your sad news.

Naetha - hope you feel better soon. I've never had a UTI but can imagine it wouldn't be much fun, especially when you're dealing with ms at the same time.

I also wanted to share my good news after my last very grumpy post ! We have got into St George's in Tooting and I'm really pleased about it. Also absolutely starving today so think I'll go and find a celebratory muffin or something!

Hope everyone has a lovely day

Bettymamma · 13/06/2007 12:27

Fantastic - good news BWmum. I may have to join you on that muffin!
