Just had my 16 week appointment with the midwife all ok took ages to find the heartbeat he or she was hiding

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/09/2018 11:53

Glad they found it though @wineandchoccy

Now I want crumble and melon, thanks gang!!!

LittleKitty1985 · 18/09/2018 11:56

I need to stock up on healthy snacks at work and home as my increased appetite right now is insane. When my mum was pregnant with me she put on a lot of weight that she never lost, so I'm trying not to do that if possible. I didn't have much morning sickness either, so am slightly jealous of those of you saying you lost weight in the first trimester as I definitely gained it! Blush

Nightmanagerfan · 18/09/2018 18:10

@littlekitty1985 I am worried about putting on too much weight too. I have probably put on a couple of kg so far due to eating crap and not being as active as usual. Those of you who are post 12 weeks are you exercising now?

HidCat · 18/09/2018 18:36

Thanks ladies, Doc has confirmed that my chest is clear and given me some steroids for the asthma. Unfortunately though my morning sickness is back! Coughing seems to trigger it 🀒.

Murphyrocks · 18/09/2018 18:45

@Hidcat I'm getting the same - pregnancy has triggered asthma that hasn't been active for years and the coughing is so violent it makes me vomit. New low of throwing up this morning with ds crouching on the other side of the toilet bowl continually asking if I'm alright. Poor little soldier 😒 I have my 26 week midwife check tomorrow so will ask about it then. I thought the vomiting was over!

Sictransitgloria · 18/09/2018 19:02

Had my dating scan today. The sonographer said all looks normal. She measured the nuchal fold and said she is happy with the measurement? Is that right? My EDD is now 30/03/2019. Feeling very surreal! I also think it is a boy although scan pics aren’t clear. Apparently baby was upside down and back to front and refused to move so was asked to do star jumps to get baby to move πŸ˜‚

1986mumof5 · 18/09/2018 19:07

Hi everyone sorry I haven't been on. Been so busy at home. My eldest 3 are home educated so gets pretty hectic!! I've tried to read through everyone's replies and posts but it's been busy here too!!
@villagefete lovely scan pic. I'm so bad at guessing gender the nub theory just confuses me.
@murphyrocks a Pisces child? Are you crazy. They're slightly evil lol. My third is a Pisces and so is my sister. Definite evil streak but yes can be quite living. My third is definitely an old soul. She's 6 going on 76 lol. I'm hoping this one can either make an early appearance or hang on in there to be an aries if I'm honest. Both me and my husband are Scorpios (yes it's firey lol) eldest is virgo, 2nd libra, 3rd Pisces and 4th aquarius. Bit of a mixed bag. Think I'd go nuts if there was another Scorpio in the house though lol.
Nausea has been absent since about 8 weeks thank God. Having to keep sending to pick up my 7month old was killing me. Keep feeling like I was going to throw up.
@hidcat oooh don't know about insights lol. I can share what I've been through so far though and hopefully ease worries and bring a smile.
@bellendejour congratulations!!
@melissa112 yes cramps very normal unfortunately. I've been getting them pretty much constantly followed by a belly growth spurt. I'm 15 weeks with my fifth my fourth is only 7months. I already look 6 months pregnant lol.
In terms of overdueness and labour times mine are:
1day overdue 4hrs45mins 7lbs11oz
5 days overdue 3hrs40mins 8lbs
8days overdue 2hrs20mins 8lbs3oz
6 days overdue 1hr 50mins 8lbs 4oz
I'll be honest I drank loaadddsss of castor oil with my fourth as I was the size of a house and completely fedup of being pregnant. Did nothing for two days then I was getting contractions but they didn't hurt but we're about 3 mins apart once that happened for two hours I phoned labour suite who asked me to come in for a check. She did a sweep at 20:30 baby was born at 22:23. Was strange how quick I went from no pain to baby in my arms. I went in to labour suite on my own thinking they'd send me away and ended up giving birth on my own. Which was actually really nice. I'm going on a bit but if anyone wants to to know more please ask. Congratulations to anyone I missed xxxxx

Wineandchoccy · 18/09/2018 19:08

@Sictransitgloria Did you have the blood test to get combined results? If so you should get a letter with your results in a week or 2

1986mumof5 · 18/09/2018 19:11

Stupid autocorrect lol I meant quite loving not quite living and bending not sending to pick up my 7month old lol

@nightmanagerfan I have, I saw my PT (also a friend!) last week and I'm seeing her tomorrow. I ached for five days (stairs and the toilet were agony). We did a brisk walk, some squats and lunges, light weights and a bit of core and stretching. I also did this video today which is really good.

Spud2019 · 18/09/2018 19:17

@Murphyrocks I had a new sickness high this morning - a kind builder offering me a glass of water as I puked out my nose repeatedly all over his building site at 7am. I was never actually sick with any of my other pregnancies so I keep thinking it's just a horrible feeling that will go away then being surprised when I puke in an inappropriate place like a teenager with a hangover.

@Wineandchoccy I have three boys, a step son and step daughter. The little one we lost last time would be five now. This one is a huge surprise and was not the plan (my big one is 20 this year I was getting ready for 'empty nesting', a clean house and some sleep) but after lots of getting my head around stuff sort of dying in that bit of my body with the late miscarriage which hit us all hard and the abnormal cells stuff I had this year it is amazing to think there is a little life growing. I didn't think we'd have rainbow.

@cardboard33 I feel like that with hospital appointments too especially as my work were just really good when I needed time of for my abnormal cells stuff in the summer and as I'm a newbie. I work in construction and I'm building a hospital right next to an old one at the moment, every time I'm running past to the train for an appointment I keep wishing I could have appointments there so I could actually get there without major logistics management.

Angelmiracle · 18/09/2018 19:26

@ballanj I'm getting headaches the past week now. Mainly appear evening/night. I wasn't taking anything but by Friday I gave in and had paracetamol twice that night. Was up with DS from 3.30am which brought headache back again so took paracetamol again. Luckily it helps. I thought perhaps it's because I'm eating so little. I actually got out of bed at 11.30pm to make weetabix πŸ˜‚

Oh and I had my first scan 31st August I thought I was 12+6 they said 13+4 but I'm sure of my dates so I'm sticking with my own just got a letter yesterday with date for next scan which is 19th Oct 8 days before my (non-alcoholic) birthday lol x

ballanj · 18/09/2018 19:34

@Angelmiracle I think I'll have to resort to paracetamol at work, they tend to ease off in the evening once I'm sat down and not doing much. Oh bless you I do wonder how I'll cope when 2nd time around happens, job must be far more exhausted than me having a little one to cope with aswell. I have huge respect to all the mums on here having to cope with children at the same time!

Wineandchoccy · 18/09/2018 19:41

Wow busy household @Spud2019 but what a lovely surprise after an awful time

MsLioness · 18/09/2018 19:59

Hi all, am new to this but feeling a bit sorry for myself this evening so wanted to reach out to others! I'm 12+5 but feeling much worse than I remember feeling with my son. I've been really lucky with morning sickness but just feel gross and bloated and sore and uncomfortable, struggling with sleep and needing to pee all night. I feel about the size of a house! Is anyone else feeling this way, I thought this was supposed to be the start of the easy time where some extra energy was going to appear!

Wineandchoccy · 18/09/2018 20:03

@MsLioness welcome and I am certainly not glowing yet Sad I feel tired and just yuk

ballanj · 18/09/2018 20:12

@MsLioness totally feeling your pain, I'm a little ahead of you, coming up to 15 weeks on Thursday. I too didn't suffer any morning sickness but the bloating was unbelievable! I did start to feel better around 13 weeks but heading into week 15 my first trimester headaches are back πŸ™„ and the peeing hasn't eased off for me in the night whatsoever!

7415N1d0r1391117 · 18/09/2018 20:15

Hey ladies .

Hope you’re all doing okay! It’s so hard to catch up when you miss a day. So much happens/is spoken about.

It’s rubbish to hear lots of you are still experiencing sickness. Hopefully it all starts to improve! I feel nauseas every other day now so it’s getting there and I’m 16 weeks.

I saw my consultant today as I suffer from anxiety and depression . He seemed concerned with my BP. I haven’t ever had a problem with it. Before 24 weeks apparently your BP is at its lowest so I guess him seeing it strangely high for me is a concern? It was 156/84 and I’m usually 110-120/60.. I know it’s not worryingly high as the bottom figure needs to be over 90 to be anything like Pre Eclampsia, plus it’s too early for that.. however what will happen if it stays this high? Im seeing the midwife on Monday for another check of my BP and if it’s still high I need to go back to my consultant for tests.. has anyone experienced this this early on?

On the plus side I heard the bubbas heart beat while I was there. A healthy 168bpm 😍 my son around this time was about 136bpm! It’s all very exciting!

Hope everyone is doing well anyway xx

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/09/2018 20:18

Definitely a million times worse this time! Actually sick and uncomfortable unlike lady time's nausea and exhaustion.

@1986mumof5 we have 3 aries (of 3 family members!) in the house..... Definitely makes for fireworks when the smallest wants to kick off!

1986mumof5 · 18/09/2018 20:22

@ballanj @mslioness @wineandchoccy me too! Not one bit of physical sickness just a bit of nausea which subsided ages ago but achy a lot peeing like a racehorse and just generally run down. The broken sleep due to toilet breaks is killing me. My fourth slept through from 3 weeks so really got used to nice sleep but now I'm up every couple of hours. Sending hugs to all of you xx

1986mumof5 · 18/09/2018 20:30

@squirtlesmumagain wow 3/3 and a potential fourth. I suppose a Pisces would balance a little but beware of the grudges!! My little Pisces 'reminded' me of when I forgot her candles for her cake when she was 3. She said I'm still not forgiven. It wasn't even a big deal I went straight out to Tesco and got some but she still remembers lol.

VillageFete · 18/09/2018 20:50

Sorry to hear people are still feeling like rubbish. I had a terrible day on Saturday, I felt so unwell. Last couple of days i’m getting back ache, headaches & tiredness. It’s so much fun this, isn’t it Hmm

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the odd glass of wine on special occasions? I’m reading β€œexpecting better” and it’s made me feel more confident in having the odd glass. I’ve not touched a drop so far, haven’t felt like it, but I have a concert i’m going to in December with family and wouldn’t mind a glass whilst watching it. Also, we’ve all booked our Christmas day meal out, there’ll be 18 of us and i’d like to think I can have a glass of red for our Christmas day toast.
