Thought I'd get the new thread started as no one objected to my title suggestion

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
j20baby · 26/06/2007 20:46

i must say the AIBU can be a source of entertainment to me i'm afraid, sometimes i can be a little bit mischevous(sp) on them
{waves to muppet girl} tee hee hee

btw got my car going, it was the battery, but apparantly there are various other things wrong with it

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 20:50

I think that's what i should do too rather than joining in the heated debate.
btw j20 i really do have a 4x4 my brother calls the 'pimp wagon.' It is black with blacked out windows.....
hard core
yeah

j20baby · 26/06/2007 20:54

tbh a lot of the issues that people get bothered about, i just don't care either way, unless some fat bottomed 4x4 driver, tries to scrape my car because they can't fit in the space next to mine, hmph, they should just park in the mother and baby spaces

{ducks and runs, well tries to, more like waddles}

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 20:57

pmsl!!!

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:25

Meant to say congrats to Inzi on a positive scan

I am now choreographing my own poo dance, think we should all develop one then stage a huge October get together and perform!! (the dance that is, not the poo!!)

Sorry to repeat myself but, anyone with a doppler, do they take a bit of getting used to.Just tried mine and can't pick up a thing. Can still feel movement so not too concerned, but would like to hear baby's hb if I could!

j20baby · 26/06/2007 21:33

is it one that straps to your tummy or that you hold?

have you got lubricant for it?

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 21:35

I'm so glad I know what you're talking about j20...

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:35

No, it's a hand held thing that you move around. Have got gel but still didn't pick up anything! I'm probably doing it all wrong. Do you need to lie down or is lounging back ok? How much gel?

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:36

whole conversation sounds dodgy to me muppetgirl!!

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 21:39

Sorry, i know it's a serious question but did pmsl

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:41

No worries, as I say, can feel bubba moving so know she's ok,just perplexed with whole doppler silence thing!

j20baby · 26/06/2007 21:42

me too pmsl

i'd try lying down if i was you, plenty of lubricant and put it underneath your navel and around there, give it a couple of seconds to pick it up, it might be quite faint at first. hth

right off to cause more trouble {grins wickedly}

j20baby · 26/06/2007 21:43

btw, is the sound turned up?

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:43

Thanks J20 - will give it another go tomorrow! Enjoy your rabble rousing

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:44

Yes, had the volume really loud, almost deafened myself everytime i moved it over my skin!!

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 21:44

J20 I'm having great fun ATM being a little pesky on other threads. Much better than the heated debate thing I first tried

j20baby · 26/06/2007 21:47

aren't we naughty, i really should go for a bath but i may miss something!

hm how many weeks are you? mine didn't pick it up very well up until i was 24 weeks and then i had to give it back, they're nowhere near as good as the mw's and doc's i don't think

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:49

I'm 23 weeks today, maybe it is still a little early. Not a dead expensive one or anything so maybe needs babba to be a bit bigger!

j20baby · 26/06/2007 21:51

i think it takes a bit of practice, you'll manage it eventually

oo i'm 26 weeks tommorrow!

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:52

I can't wait for it to be 24 weeks, then at least I can say she's 'viable'. Poor dot, sounds like a really awful thing to say. But, I suppose we all cling to these landmarks don't we?

PolarMummy · 26/06/2007 21:53

Hi Girls sorry need a major rant!!! I have just had a row with my older sister grrrr she infuriates me! She is only two years older than me but as far as she is concerned she might as well be 20 years older. I am her younger sister and I will do what I am told!!!

She has this knack of making me feel so worthless and that I do everything badly or wrong. She also makes me feel that she always thinks of everyone else first and that I only think about myself. When in reality it couldn't be different, she only thinks of herself and if she asks you to do something for her there is only one answer "Yes" she also makes me feel bad about money, like I am really stingy and she is so generous. She is generous with presents but I know that the rest of the family feel pressured to come up to her level. Like at Christmas we will agree on an amount to spend on Christmas presents and then she always goes over it and makes me feel sh*t

Plus she always leaves me in tears which I hate

Sorry shouldn't at you guys just don't have anyone else to turn to as DH is away and don't want to involve any of the rest of the family

nellieloula · 26/06/2007 21:55

evening - whilst we're on doppler chat, can I ask a question on movements? I think I mentionned before that this LO doesn't seem to be anywhere near as active as DS was which I'm fine about - they're all different and maybe I just didn't realise what a feisty litle kick boxer he was. But, just wondering - at 22 weeks, should you be able to feel proper full on kicks? All i seem to get are funny little waves and gentle wriggles - more slow somersaults than kicks. Do you think that's ok? Also, is it at this point that we should be getting 10 movements a day or is that from 28 weeks?? Just not sure whether I should be anxious.....

HonorMatopoeia · 26/06/2007 21:58

Polar - sisters are designed to drive you nuts whilst in the guise of being very well meaning. Let it all out here chuck, we're good for venting at. Then,go and thump a large pillow!!
Nellie - I don't exctly feel kicks yet, more like ripples and the ocassional bump or hiccup feeling iyswim! Sorry, no idea about amount of movement at all.

j20baby · 26/06/2007 21:59

hm of course that is common, each week is a milestone for me, but i know what you mean about 24 weeks

nellieloula · 26/06/2007 22:00

polar, don't worry about ranting here - that's what we're for. Families are tricky at the best of times aren't they? hope you feel a bit better about it all - do something relaxing, try not to cry and keep ranting if you want to. Better out than in! take care
