@jess21690 same here 😭 6 weeks today and I feel so hungover! So unfair when we can't actually have the wine!!

jess21690 · 25/08/2018 14:45

@TheMagicTorch it's awful isn't it! I thought I'd escaped it when I didn't get sick in week 6, knew something was up when I went off coffee at the start of week 7!

AmyRhodes · 25/08/2018 14:51

@jess21690

Ah, so it could still happen for me... I'm 6+6 with no symptoms and had concluded that I'm either very lucky or there's nothing going on in there!

But we'll see!

mummy2019 · 25/08/2018 14:58

Just having a wee read through some of the posts. I'm not feeling very much either apart from lower back ache and a bit more tired. I am 5+2. I can't exactly remember with my precious pregnancies when I was hit with all the symptoms. I would actually like some so I know this is actually happening lol xx

Treaclepie19 · 25/08/2018 16:42

7+4 today and nausea is getting worse. Managed to force myself to eat through it but don't think that will carry on.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 25/08/2018 17:06

My previous pregnancy weeks 8-10 were the absolute worse, I felt like I needed to be hospitalised Sad

jess21690 · 25/08/2018 17:14

@AmyRhodes hopefully you will be lucky! I hadn't really had anything but sore boobs and tiredness until week 7. Roll on the second trimester for us all!

Lolabelle29 · 25/08/2018 21:31

Nervously checking in after my last pregnancy being a miscarriage. My age is against me and life is very hard right now as my father has just died so trying to eat, not cry too much and wait for my dating scan. I think i’m about 6 weeks! Massive age gap from my other two but praying this one makes it x

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 26/08/2018 08:27

@lolabelle good luck, I hope this baby brings you some joy, it sounds as though life is tough.

Fluffy475 · 26/08/2018 08:32

@Lolabelle29 fingers crossed for you....I'm an older bird with two older boys already so it feels all a bit daunting. Just try and take one day at a time, little and often with the food and hopefully it will all come together.

I had such a horrible day yesterday, absolutely blinding headache. I went to bed at 8pm having spent 15 mins crying in the shower just trying to get rid of the pain. Has anyone else had headaches like these? Don't want to take paracetamol as I want to save that for the inevitable winter colds!!

NT Scan booked in for 20th sept...I'll be 12+2, it feels ages away!!!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 26/08/2018 10:31

How old are your boys Fluffy? I’m nearly 40 with 8 year old twins :)

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 26/08/2018 10:36

Is anyone thinking about doing NCT to meet other parents? I didn’t do it with my twins but I think I might do the refresher course this time around :)

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 26/08/2018 10:37

Fluffy just reread about your migraine that sounds incredibly painful, I hope you are feeling better.

Fluffy475 · 26/08/2018 11:27

@SheRaTheAllPowerful much better thanks just feel hungover today....wouldn't mind if I'd had the enjoyment yesterday :)))) just came on so suddenly, haven't had that before.
I'm 40 next year couple of months before I'm due and my boys are 13 and 10 so quite a big age gap but they're really excited luckily!! And I've joined NCT and will do their courses. First time round for my husband and all my friends have finished having their kids so I thought it might be a good way to meet new people and not feel isolated etc

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 26/08/2018 12:41

I’ve not told anyone yet Fluffy, just my husband and the doctor :)
I can’t wait to tell my girls, although I think they’d rather a puppy than a sibling.
I think I’ll def do NCT for similar reasons, I feel nervous about starting all over again just as life had got easier.

sachabloom · 26/08/2018 13:21

7 weeks today. And my so called morning sickness has took a turn for the worse!

Literally can't move without dry heaving (sorry!).

I know it'll all be worth it but I am struggling!

We had a scan this week and they couldn't find the heartbeat so we have to go back on weds.. surely the worsening morning sickness is a good sign? Xxx

@Fluffy475 I suffer from migraine and in the past have been admitted with them and had to stop all my medication when I found out about this wee bean thankfully pregnancy had stalled them but seven weeks today and woke with a bang. I applied some peppermint oil with a wet finger to my temple and lay with an eye mask on.

TillyTheTiger · 26/08/2018 15:25

Can I join? 8 weeks with DC2, already have a 2yo son. Feel absolutely knackered and no appetite, unlike first time round when I was constantly ravenous and put on 3.5 stone by the time I delivered!
Has anyone else had their booking-in appointment yet, and been put down for a home birth? Midwife said they're trying to push for it to be the default for low-risk second and subsequent births in this area. I'm not sure yet whether I love the idea or I'm a bit scared of it!

hailstone1 · 26/08/2018 18:49

Hi all
I've been away from the thread for a few days. The delightful morning sickness has hit. I'm managing to eat a little but struggling to drink. Sipping ginger atm trying to get it back under control I went round a friends yesterday (who I told weeks ago) she was amazing and looked after me. Off out tonight to see bro and SIL but they don't know. I've no idea how I'm gonna hide it. Any tips?
Hope you're OK xx

monkerina · 26/08/2018 19:41

Eating little and often seems to be working at keeping the nausea at bay for the most part, but avoiding the scales so far as I don't want to see the damage Shock

@Tilly, welcome! I'm going for a homebirth- DS was a med free waterbirth in MLU, so hoping for a waterbirth at home this time. The only issue is bad haemmorhages after him (physiological 3rd stage) and a late-ish mc earlier this year, so hoping the midwives carry big bags of ergometrin to prevent it happening again!

Treaclepie19 · 26/08/2018 21:08

Welcome tillythetiger :)
I think I'd panic over a homebirth but it must be so lovely having all your own things around you.
I had forceps and an episiotomy last time so just hoping to be in MLU again this time and hopefully a chilled out waterbirth. We will see.

Fluffy475 · 26/08/2018 21:42

The home birth thing is heavily encouraged where I am now the main maternity hospital is nearly an hour away! My friend's a midwife and she's going to look after me and suggested it because I've had such simple and quick deliveries previously. The only thing that worries me is all the clear up! Plus I've got the kids here so not sure how they'd handle it. Sounds nice though, familiar surroundings etc.
Welcome by the way @TillyTheTiger :)

AmyRhodes · 26/08/2018 22:04

@Fluffy475 @Treaclepie19

I birth-partnered my sister for her home birth and it was wonderful. I'd quite like to go for it myself, but my DP is nervous with it being my first.

If this one goes well I might opt for it next time though.

MigMog · 26/08/2018 22:16

Just checking in here. 7 weeks. 31. Our first one. It was a year and 8month wait to get this far. All is OK. No sickness yet. Lots of bloating. Hungry all the time, but I can't eat slot. Aches. And random things (my glands under my arm pits keep taking turns being sore). Looking forward to the rest of the journey.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 26/08/2018 22:22

I haven’t had my booking in yet but I’m hoping for a home birth this time. Dc1 was ok, dc2 was lovely and straightforward and in MLU so I hope this will be even better!
