Lovely to hear about everyone's scans. Good luck to those of you waiting.

Mine is the 21st. I'm a bag of nerves. I feel incredibly normal apart from twinges/ligament pain and tiredness.

zarala · 12/09/2018 22:36

@SheRaTheAllPowerful good luck tomorrow! Let us know how it goes!!!

@Treaclepie19 I have the exact same symptoms as you! Just twinges here and there and tiredness but nothing else! Let's hope we're the lucky ones who get away with it! I had really bad nausea with my daughter and it was horrible!!!

Treaclepie19 · 12/09/2018 22:38

@zarala i was the same with my son! Awful nausea for ages and sickness started at about 11 weeks.
10+1 today and just feel quite normal. I get waves of it but nothing major.
It feels so long since I saw baby at 6+3.

monkerina · 13/09/2018 06:58

Oh fab news @zarala!! So happy for you!

Good luck today @Shera xx

I don't feel like I'm out of the danger zone yet at 11 weeks, as previous miscarriage was at 13- the risk is very very low but it happened. I think once 12 week tests are out of the way I'll feel better, and then the 20 week anomaly scan too.

I got a letter from the midwife yesterday telling me my rhesus status- I'm O negative- yesterday, saying that there's a test now in a few weeks to find out baby's blood type to determine if baby's positive or negative. If negative too I won't have to have anti D this time- they didn't offer this test with DS who is 2.5, quite exciting! DH is O neg too so yay, have saved myself an injection or two!

zarala · 13/09/2018 08:19

Thanks @monkerina and I'm sorry about your previous loss at 13 weeks- that must have been so awful- Fx for your next scan! I hope everything will be perfect!

@Treaclepie19 when is your next scan?

Treaclepie19 · 13/09/2018 08:21

@monkerina have my fingers crossed all is well at your next scan. That's good news, it's amazing how things progress from one baby to another isn't it?

@zarala a week tomorrow. Feels so long away!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 13/09/2018 14:01

Scan went well, measuring fine and just 1 in there!
Any older mums thinking about doing a harmony or panorama test?

5tarlight · 13/09/2018 14:08

Hi ladies, glad scans are going well.
Anyone found their ms got a lot worse in wk 8/9? Had wk and a half of nausea which was trying to manage with litle bits of regular food but progressed to actual sickness today. Work from home at least so having a sleep in my 'lunch break' right now, hoping noones missed me! 🙈

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 13/09/2018 14:44

5tarlight my last pregnancy I had to be signed off weeks 8-10 as it was so bad, I work for myself now so it’s a bit easier as no commute but it’s still pretty rough

lolacola13 · 13/09/2018 16:12

@5tarlight yes week 8 was truly horrific . Everything disgusted me . I only existed on small pieces of baguette and a few chips. Making up for it this week I haven't stopped eating!!!

Smafa · 13/09/2018 17:59

Hi all!

Expecting my first in April, I'm 9 weeks in & worried. Sorry if it's TMI but - there was a bit of blood on the tissue the last few times I peed..!? Bit worried as I'm 40 & on BPD meds - also just realised I'm a bit low on iron, though I'm not sure why that would be connected.

Any thoughts/advice appreciated!

Smafa · 13/09/2018 18:01

Hope you don't mind me joining Confused

monkerina · 13/09/2018 19:20

Hooray @SheRa!! Fab news! I'm 32 (but feel about 80 today) and have been looking at Harmony/Panorama etc- think if the 12 week tests come back as anything other than very low probability we'll do it, to reduce anxiety mostly. I can't really find it for less than £450 around here (Berkshire/Hampshire borders), is there any regional variation like there is in scan prices?

Welcome smafa Smile how much blood are we talking? Red or brown? A few people here have had bleeds x

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 13/09/2018 20:22

I’m London and posh Harley St clinic is £500 but includes a scan first. The nhs via the hospital it’s £375 but she said if you have bad percentages they do it for free.
I was given the leaflet because I’ll be 39 when I give birth.
It is a lot but good for peace of mind.

@smarfa welcome do you mean with urine? Apparently UTI very common in pregnancy, do you have any other pain or discharge, it’s worth seeing your gp to rule it out.

Smafa · 13/09/2018 20:27

Thanks @monkerina Smile

It's just a tiny bit, varying from quite a bright red to just pink on the tissue...also, it's not every time.
I did leave a message for midwife but no one got back to me. I'll try to get a doc appt tomorrow.

Treaclepie19 · 13/09/2018 20:40

Is it coming with your wee? Or is it vaginal bleeding?
If wee then go to the doctors as it's probably a UTI.
General bleeding, can just be a bit of irritation but just a watch and see thing.
Welcome :)

zarala · 13/09/2018 20:41

@SheRaTheAllPowerful and @monkerina
I will definitely do harmony or serenity- depending on where I find it cheaper
I found one company called thisismy.co.uk which I used Which I used with my daughter- it's the uk equivalent of harmony (which was developed in the states) I found it much cheaper and had a much quicker turn around- however that was over 2.5years ago now so not sure how things have changed. I remember paying less than £300 in a clinic on Harley st.
Oh wait I just checked and it seems it's not called serenity anymore it's called premaitha but it doesn't seem as in depth as Harmony- ah things have changed! I need to look into this a bit more

Sorry for wishywashy answer
I will be 37 when I give birth (fingers crossed all goes well)

zarala · 13/09/2018 20:43

@smafa- if it is a uti you need to get antibiotics to treat it as it can be risky to the foetus (sorry don't mean to worry you)
I have heard women get utis when pregnant and don't have any pain- so can go unnoticed
So I would definitely call gp in morning and get them to test you ASAP!

I have had utis a couple of times during past pregnancies (including the one with my daughter) they give you pregnancy friendly antibiotics

monkerina · 13/09/2018 20:52

@smafa have you had your booking appointment yet, did they do a urine test if it was recent? Do you have your 12 week scan date through yet?

I've just remembered that a friend of mine in a different area had the harmony (or something very similar) test through her NHS hospital when she had elevated risk results at her 12 week scan. It doesn't seem to be an option at mine, they seem to go for amniocentesis according to the paperwork- odd how different trusts vary! Or maybe the paperwork is out of date, it does look photocopied a million times over!

39Suzy · 13/09/2018 21:14

Hi just marking my place.

9 weeks today with #2 after we lost #1 to TFMR. Have made some great buddies on the TTC after stillbirth thread so hoping for some handholding with this one as it's a very anxious time.

Scan last week showed a lovely heathy heartbeat and have another scan at fetal care on Monday.

Had my booking appt with MW yesterday and as i am already under fetal care, they will be looking after me.

Smafa · 13/09/2018 23:02

Thanks everyone

I've had the booking appt & scan is in 3 weeks I guess (no date yet).

Longed for a family w hubby & I'm just scared it's not going to happen.

Definitely doc in the morning!

Thanks again for replies; much appreciated Star

cookielove · 14/09/2018 14:01
