Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

I'd keep on doing it. I'm a regular runner and plan to aim for 30 mins four times a week for as long as I can be bothered feel comfortable. I think guidelines are to stay at a pace where you can comfortably hold a conversation Smile

MrsReader · 01/09/2018 21:23

I'm kind of in the same boat, was super fit a year or two ago then slacked off. Had only been back running for a few months before I got pregnant and now I'm too scared to run! I keep making excuses not to 😕

seeingdots · 01/09/2018 21:35

Glad your DD is ok @UntilTheVeryEnd. I sympathise entirely, we spent a decent chunk of yesterday in A&E as well after DD cracked her face open on our coffee table. She was alright, if a bit bust up. Not a great day for the nausea to have kicked in though! Then today we had her birthday party - thankfully just a small family gathering but I'm wrecked now!

That's utterly ridiculous @Firstbornunicorn! Don't you just love it how a woman's comfort ceases to be of any importance the moment she becomes pregnant?! Just suck it up bitch, cos a couple of teaspoons of honey will give you GD Hmm

kiltedsheep · 01/09/2018 22:56

@seeingdots Just suck it up bitch, cos a couple of teaspoons of honey will give you GD LMAO 🤣

@minnierose3 In the first trimester if my first pregnancy I'd be running 5k a few times a week (those were the days!) and my GP said I was fine to do it until it no longer felt comfortable. My dad was horrified ("Think of the little baby bouncing up and down in there!") but ignored the fact that the foetus was the size of a garden pea and was perfectly well cushioned.

These days I can't even be arsed to run a bath, never mind 5k. Ah well.

I'd say you've got the right approach - listen to your body and see how you get on!

Firstbornunicorn · 01/09/2018 23:12

@seeingdots I nearly wet myself laughing 😂.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 02/09/2018 07:03

@seeingdots awwww your poor DD - think that’s worse if there is blood involved. That would have made me panic. Glad she is ok tho!

Also 😂 suck it up bitch is now my pregnancy motto!
I do however agree that the second that pink line appears we cease to be people and become incubators.

Happysbno4 · 02/09/2018 07:05

In bed at 9pm with a flashy lights headache. Guessing this was a hormone surge but did leave me feeling rubbish. Anyone else had this?

Im due to be traveling with work later this month and next its going to go down like a lead balloon when I say I can't go. Not chancing after my MMC.

Lizzybeth123 · 02/09/2018 07:14

I’m so confused....The first day of my last period was 29thjuly. Ovulation showed to be 10th if I worked out. but in fact ovulation test only came positive on 14th... I did clear blue weeks test on day of missed period 27th & 28th and both showed 3+ weeks? I’m confused this doesn’t add up? That means I conceived on 6th or before? I had miscarriage 2 months ago so very confused. Anyone else had similar thing?

Shazafied · 02/09/2018 07:29

Hhise @Lizzybeth123 those tests add a couple of weeks on ....it's confusing. If you lmp started 29/7 you are 5 weeks pregnant today medically speaking. You prob conceived mid aug though - confusing !!

Lizzybeth123 · 02/09/2018 07:52

I thought that but then I thought they went from conceiving date which worked out before my ovulation prediction date or ovulation test date. It does make sense what your saying though.... I have booked in for doctors but I guess I can’t scan until12 weeks anyway :)

Mejse · 02/09/2018 08:06

@UntilTheVeryEnd "suck it up bitch" is the mentality here in Denmark for sure! Pregnancy is "not an illness and all women do it" so you are expected to just get on with it and not complain. I wasn't once offered a seat on public transport in my last pregnancy, even when I was huge!

This time I know not to expect any special treatment at least

MimiSunshine · 02/09/2018 10:00

Slowly getting more pregnancy symptoms here. A bit of dizziness and the occasional nausea, mainly when I smell something slightly off.

I’ve found myself benchmarking things against my first pregnancy, I still have another 2 days to go to when I tested last time (although I was fairly sure by now that I was pregnant by this point).

So I’m expecting nausea to fully kick in, in about a week / 10 days (I’m 6wks today).

I can’t wakt to tell people I’m pregnant, I’m really excited but Time is dragging sooo slowly.

DesertBOO · 02/09/2018 13:52

Hi everyone - got my BFP a couple of days ago - due somewhere around May 12th. I'm terrified of every twinge.....will it ever pass!!!

8DaysAWeek · 02/09/2018 14:03

@lizzybeth123 you're right, those tests date from conception so actually take away 2 weeks from the traditional midwife way of dating. 3+ would assume you are at least 5 weeks pregnant, which is about right going from your LMP. So either you ovulated earlier than you thought (you can have more than one LH surge in your cycle and the one you picked up on may not have been an ovulatory one) or your urine was particularly concentrated and had a lot of HCG in it. Apparently you should take the weeks indicator with a pinch of salt.

Excitingthingsahead · 02/09/2018 14:09

Hey can I join. I've been feeling sick the last few days so done a test and had a very faint positive. Unsure when im due but think it will be start of May.

rosettesforjill · 02/09/2018 14:27

Welcome and congratulations @DesertBOO and @Excitingthingsahead!

Excitingthingsahead · 02/09/2018 14:31

Thank you. Im excited but nervous at the same time :D done it once before but feels like it's all new.

Lizzybeth123 · 02/09/2018 14:31

@8DaysAWeek thank you yeah that makes sense. It threw me with my ovulation test being after the predicted date. I don't want to get too excited since I had MC 2 months ago. But will stay positive and do the best I can for my body x

Excitingthingsahead · 02/09/2018 14:52

I know that feeling @Lizzybeth123 I had a mc in February and a few chemical ones since then too.

Lizzybeth123 · 02/09/2018 14:55

@Excitingthingsahead oh really . Im not even going to the doctors until 7/8 weeks this time as nothing they can do to help and scared to get my hopes up. And they won't scan until 12 weeks

Excitingthingsahead · 02/09/2018 15:04

I was thinking about doing the same until i realised I'm on beta-blockers to try and stop migraines :( so I've got to go.

MrsReader · 02/09/2018 15:10

Hell newbies 👋🏻😄

MrsReader · 02/09/2018 15:12

So I ran 2 miles today, first run with little peanut 🥜. Felt ok just a bit slower than usual. I feel really good now tho!

purplestar9 · 02/09/2018 15:57

We told DH's mum and step-Dad today, as he's the eldest in his family, he's also the first to be on the journey to parenthood so she was quite emotional about it! My parents just take it all in their stride now as ours will be their 9th grand child! Anyone else told their parents? What reactions did you get?

UntilTheVeryEnd · 02/09/2018 16:00

@Excitingthingsahead what beta blockers are you on? I’m on propranolol for migraines as well - I have spoken extensively with the neurologist and apparently 140mg is considered safe in pregnancy. I’m on 160mg so waiting on a new prescription to change dose. The beta blockers can cause growth restriction in later stage but they assured me that can be monitored with extra scans etc.
So I wouldn’t worry - you might not have to change your meds all together x
