New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

Oh, I'm a 8/10 in normal clothes btw - so sizing down to an 8 in maternity.

FrowningFlamingo · 17/08/2018 11:19

Yes of course, lookingforadvice
I plan to just touch people's belly's back :/ not sure if that's too aggressive of me but never mind. I think it'll be ok with friends and family but I'm a bit worried about clients at work doing it :/ obviously I have to act professionally but that works both ways... I guess I'll just have to be firm and polite and say I'd prefer they don't do that.

@Alicejj8x

Way past the hairband stage! 😂 Even leggings are not comfortable now.. I’m in maternity jeans already, but am going to invest in maternity leggings today I think!

Need to go into town to buy something to wear tomorrow... maternity tops are so boring, both in store and online, I need to find a longer, stretchy, loose-ish cut too preferably in a nude/pinkish colour... or a nice kimono 🤷🏻‍♀️ With two kids in tow.

Wish me luck! 😩

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/08/2018 11:24

I have quite a strong resting bitch face... I don’t think anyone would be stupid enough to try touching me... 🤣

Alicejj8x · 17/08/2018 11:31

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking
Ohh good luck lol I hope the first shop u go in has exactly what you need ahaha.

I haven't brought any maternity clothes yet .. I'm a size 8 but quite small I height so I am thinking any maternity jeans will be abit too long on my legs lol so I reckon it'll have to be leggings for the next 6 months ahaah!!

Yakadee · 17/08/2018 11:37

@Baby160P - I have impetigo! How random. Got some antibiotic cream stuff from the docs x

Baby160P · 17/08/2018 11:42

@Yakadee oh really that's rare for adults to get. Hope you feel better soon.

Yakadee · 17/08/2018 13:32

I know. I'm totally grossed out as the only way you can pick it up is by touch and nobody I know has it so I've picked it up off some manky surface or something - yuk!!! 🤢

hayley013 · 17/08/2018 14:32

Oh yeah @Alicejj8x we've even gone beyond the hair bobble trick, the zip will not budge at all so the jeans are firmly put away haha. Think I'm gonna go get some H&M maternity jeans xx

FrowningFlamingo · 17/08/2018 14:49

Yakadee I did wonder that from your description but it's hard to tell without seeing it obviously.
It's unusual in adults but less so in pregnancy as our immune systems are rubbish!

Alicejj8x · 17/08/2018 14:54

@hayley013
Ahh I think I'll
Have a look in there at the weekend too!! Anything to feel comfy ahah xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/08/2018 15:00

Im wearing H&M maternity jeans now, I’m a 10/12.. the size 8’s were well short!! 😂 so you may be in luck @Alicejj8x

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/08/2018 15:01

Or I may be thinking of New Look... one of those shops anyway! I’m 5’6” and the size 8 jeans would’ve come about 3 or 4 inches above my ankles...

powkin · 17/08/2018 15:03

ASOS do petite maternity if that’s any help to anyone!! I’m size 12/14 and 5’2 so look ridiculous in some maternity clothes. I’d recommend some whistles and cos dresses for early pregnancy as they do a lot of loose billowy styles. Some good sales on at the moment so might be worth a look!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/08/2018 15:07

My sickness is still bad just not everyday but when it does strike it's evil!!!

Baby160P · 17/08/2018 15:16

My maternity new look order arrived today
And I'm so happy, was £55 for 3 maternity bras, 2 bottoms, 2 tops, a jacket and some non maternity gladiator sandals. I have to say I ordered over the bump as I think they'll be more comfy but I don't think I'm fully prepared to embrace the simon cowell look yet 😂

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/08/2018 15:18

Maternity clothes just come with such hefty price tags.

When I had DD I just bought larger sizes of clothes.

Baby160P · 17/08/2018 15:22

@MrsSnootyPants2018 that's why I embraced the new look maternity sale even though I'm not really in need as in my summer dresses.

I was going to do the same.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/08/2018 15:25

I went down to mothercare and had a look and just walked back out. I need too many things and the prices were just too high.

I did see a couple of nice dresses from the Katie Piper maternity range though. I may test myself to one of them and just go large on normal clothes for the rest.

Yakadee · 17/08/2018 15:32

I second Newlook! Recently got 3 pairs of jeans, a dress and two tops. Really reasonable prices although did have to get tall jeans as mine were on the short side!

@FrowningFlamingo - I'm actually glad it is something. It's been painful and I've been moaning about it all week, at least it's for a reason. My husband just told me (in a nice way) to just get on with it and it'll go! So glad he was wrong! Lol x

Yakadee · 17/08/2018 15:34

This is the dress I got. Really flattering and lovely fit. It was only £15! X

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/08/2018 15:43

That dress is lovely!

Yakadee · 17/08/2018 15:49

I love it. Nice in summer and goes with black tights for the autumn / winter x

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/08/2018 15:54

I'm just in need of dresses for work. Trousers are just uncomfortable

Since2016 · 17/08/2018 16:35

For those looking for maternity clothes - try eBay. I’ve got a load of Isabella Oliver and seraphine dresses for a bargain - lovely quality and IMO nicer than the Other cheaper stuff I bought with DD. Alternatively COS is fab for maternity wear as it’s all oversized / flowing anyway. I have had a lot of stuff gifted from a friend too so am lucky. Also hot milk for bras - double as maternity and feeding if you’re intending to BF.
