New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

Anyone had their 16 week midwife appointment yet? Mine's tomorrow and I'm not sure what to expect.

I've not heard my baby's heartbeat yet - seen it at all three scans but not listened to it. Was hoping to hear it tomorrow but doesn't sound like I will.

ducklingb · 16/08/2018 20:56

Baby 2 due 8th feb 2019 DS born 6th jan 2018 🙈 anyone else have babies close in age?

DeliberatelyGinger · 16/08/2018 20:57

I'm quite worried about changing to a side sleeper. I tried it last night and my arm was in agony. Any tips?

craftymum01 · 16/08/2018 21:05

@DeliberatelyGinger pillows are your friend when sleeping on your side. Underbump, between your legs, behind your back. I'm all about the pillows, especially as we get bigger

DragonFlew · 16/08/2018 21:09

Second the pillow idea. I just bought one of those super long pregnancy pillows!

craftymum01 · 16/08/2018 21:13

I had a v shaped pillow (not one of the really long ones) for sleeping when I was pregnant, and it was brilliant for breastfeeding to as you could wrap it around baby and he laid his head on it. Made it much more comfy

Hello! I thought I should introduce myself as I was in the other Feb 19 group but never properly made it over to this one.

I’m due on 6th Feb, and am 15+1. I’m on my belated honeymoon and had to get up at 2.30am for the flight today, which wasn’t great with morning sickness but so happy to have arrived without any twinges or cause for concern during all the travel.

It’s so nice to have a group where we’re all around the same stage and exciting that we’ve mostly all had our 12 week scans!

I’d love to join the Facebook group too, who’s the best person to send my email address to?

I bought a maternity pillow, but just can't get on with it at the moment, everything feels uncomfortable and I still roll onto my back, and get in a fight with it half way through the night, will persevere though!

Lulabell1 · 16/08/2018 21:42

I havent added myself on the last time i posted but just realised im the youngest, i said it to my mum and mentioned that probably not a lot of people my age know about groups as they are much to obsessed with social mediaGrin. The group really helped me last time got a lot if advice only being 18!

Didn't manage to copy it before. Glad your scan went well @powkin. I got to hear the heartbeat at my harmony scan. Think midwife is next week, at 16 weeks here they come to the house. May need to tidy!!

Yakadee · 16/08/2018 22:13

Random but looking for some advice. I think I have a coldsore up my nose, it's been there since Saturday and it's really not improving. 😩

One of you lovely ladies advised I get zovirax but because I'm daft I decided to look it up and appears as though it's not advised so I didn't.

My question is, do I go to the docs or am I just being pathetic? It's agony and fills my whole right nostril. I thought it should be showing signs of going by now but it's just not. (Feel free to tell me to get a grip lol) xxx

Baby160P · 16/08/2018 22:17

Thanks everyone I'll hopefully hear the heartbeat at my next appointment

MakeLemonade · 16/08/2018 22:50

My doc said topical Zovirax (cream not tablet) is fine as a miniscule amount transfers to your bloodstream but if you’re worried about using it then do check. My GP did it over the phone to save me going in for an appointment!

Cheery1 · 16/08/2018 22:53

@Yakadee - ooo that sounds horrible. Have you seen a pharmacist yet? Maybe do that before GP if you’re worried about going. Tbh as a pregnant lady, your GP will most likely be happy to see you. You want to make sure you get the right treatment, etc. Hope it gets better soon. Xx

Cheery1 · 16/08/2018 22:55

Hello @ducklingb, welcome x

FrowningFlamingo · 17/08/2018 06:47

@Rowse I can add you to the Facebook group - I'm in Italy at the moment but home tomorrow so shouldn't be too much delay! If you have more than one email it must be the email linked to your Facebook account. The join invite comes to your email, it doesn't show up on your Facebook notifications so if you don't get it check your junk folder!

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/08/2018 06:54

I'm having a little worry, my scan was Tuesday and like an idiot I didn't ask if everything looks ok. Obviously the sonographer showed us the baby and heartbeat, did the measurements etc.

Surely she had a duty to say if something looked wrong?

DH is saying no I don't think that's their job to say if something is wrong, WTF?! What is their job then, just to take measurements and not say anything?!

Picklesandpies · 17/08/2018 07:12

Morning,

Just a quick question - does anyone else wake up with sore and sort of engorged boobs? I look and feel as though my miles just come in (not that there is any but they have that swollen appearance like they did at that time.) They were never like this with my previous pregnancies. I'm quite small chested normally and I didn't see much change until near my due date before. My left one is particularly sore in the morning due to lying on it I suppose. It seems to wear off a bit during the day but it's so painful first thing!

@Lookingforadvice123 I'm sure everything is fine. Of course they would tell you if something didn't look right at the scan - you are right. There's no way they'd send you merrily home if they'd seen something that didn't look as it should - that's their job. X

MrsY87 · 17/08/2018 07:16

@Lookingforadvice123 the sonographer will definitely tell you if they have any concerns about anything. We had something picked up at our 20w scan with DS (which turned out to be nothing sinister) but she said she wanted a 2nd opinion on something and got another sonographer to come in and look too. The whole point of the scan is to check if anything looks wrong and then refer to featal medicine consultant etc.

MakeLemonade · 17/08/2018 07:52

They’d definitely tell you if they saw something obviously wrong although it’s the 20 week scan where they are really looking for any issues. At 12 weeks they are checking heartbeat, size and nuchal measurement - that’s mostly it!

Baby160P · 17/08/2018 08:01

@Yakadee I have one I've been to the doctors and got a cream they checked it was ok. I'll check the name of it in a sec.
I have to say it feels horrible putting it on!!! Cream up the nose 🤢

Yakadee · 17/08/2018 08:28

@Baby160P - I know, it's awful isn't it. I've decided to go to the pharmacy to ask first as it's attached to the docs so I can pop to the docs if needed. I'm sick of it, I've had them on my lip before and never remember it being this sore! Hope yours feels better soon x

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/08/2018 08:33

Thanks all x

Baby160P · 17/08/2018 08:37

@Yakadee I've never had one before so wondered if it was baby related. Hope yours feel better soon
