New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

@powkin lovely scan! What a fab birthday present!

Since2016 · 16/08/2018 14:16

Hooray @powkin what a relief! Happy birthday mummy!

Baby160P · 16/08/2018 14:16

@powkin ah you're the day after me. Your pics much more clear than my wiggly baby xx

MrsY87 · 16/08/2018 14:40

Hi @Effy1990 another with a small age gap here! My DS is currently 11m so we'll have a 17m gap between him & the twins! Eek! Im sure we'll both survive though! Know what you mean about the scan making it seem more real! I'm still suffering on the sickness front too, solidarity, it's horrible.

Alicejj8x · 16/08/2018 15:19

Ahh just had a huge argument with the shard London!! I think these pregnancy hormones have taken over lol

somethingfromnothing · 16/08/2018 17:53

Just placemarking! Wow what a chatty bunch we are Grin

Baby160P · 16/08/2018 18:00

At your first scans did they do the babies heart rate or did you hear it?

I asked and she said they don't do hat hey do it through vision, if hey see it's fast it's fine.

Notquiteagandt · 16/08/2018 18:07

@Baby160P

Nope I have had 4 scans so far all they said was look its beating and showed me the flicker.

But I was told the mw will doppler it and let you listen. So I am hoping next time I see her in a few weeks to listen.

Cheery1 · 16/08/2018 18:13

Happy birthday @powkin! Lovely scan pic! Xx

Baby160P · 16/08/2018 18:15

@Notquiteagandt hopefully I'll hear it in September then.

My midwives were not the happiest because they took forever baby was being a monkey. Weren't very talkative lol xx

Yakadee · 16/08/2018 18:18

I think it's your 16 week appointment that you hear the heartbeat (I hope!). Mine is next Thursday so will let you know x

powkin · 16/08/2018 18:28

I sent my midwife a text today as she clearly made a mistake with my appointments (my next one isn’t booked until almost 22 weeks) but haven’t heard back yet. I guess I’ll call her tomorrow but not sure if she’s on holiday or not. It was way easier to explain in a text with all the dates so figured that was the most sensible way but hard to know if the message had got through.

DragonFlew · 16/08/2018 18:31

It depends on your trust protocols. With DS1 they didn't use a Doppler un til 25 week appt. But where I am now it is 16 weeks.
It was because if they fail to find it at 16 weeks they can't send you to hospital for monitoring so you'd end up feeling really worried.

maxiflump1 · 16/08/2018 18:44

In my trust they don't use a Doppler at all so no listening to heartbeat. Sad They say it's because it's difficult to distinguish between the heartbeat and the placenta.

I'm having crazy dreams too. Last night I had a really long dream about arguing with my Dad about treating me like a child. This would never happen in real life! A: he wouldn't do that and B: I have never, ever yelled at my Dad for as long as I can remember (even as a kid).
Thanks for the tip re Newlook maternity. I think I need a second lot of maternity Bras already! Only got measured two weeks ago and it already feels tight.

Fredthespider · 16/08/2018 19:00

@maxiflump1 I’m sure my MW said they would listen for the heartbeat at one of the appointments, but I can’t remember which one. I think she said 25? I was kinda hoping it would be 16 which is next Wed. I didn’t get to hear it at the scan either, didn’t even notice until after! I’ll have to ask my auntie to borrow the Doppler when I go and visit her next as she’s a MW but I don’t see her that often.

Alicejj8x · 16/08/2018 19:12

@Fredthespider
My MW said to be at my 16 week appointment they will do the heart beat xx

Cheery1 · 16/08/2018 19:38

I’ve got my 16 week on Monday so I’ll let you know if they listen for the heartbeat. I’ll have my two year old with me and no DH so that’ll be interesting 😬😂

UndercoverLauren · 16/08/2018 19:44

@Since2016 My father in law warned me not to watch that whilst pregnant. I'm kind of curious about it now though!

Surprisedmom · 16/08/2018 19:55

They listened for and played me 10 seconds of the heartbeat at my 12 week scan, I thought that was standard but perhaps it was just my hospital

Yakadee · 16/08/2018 20:07

@Since2016 @UndercoverLauren - spooky, I'm watching this at this exact moment. It's fantastic (and sad all at the same time). I have cried too but I was a crier before x

Lookingforadvice123 · 16/08/2018 20:12

I didn't get to hear the heartbeat at he 12 week scan either and I didn't think to ask to be honest, but I heard it at my private 10 week scan.

When I was pregnant 3 years ago they didn't listen to the heartbeat at the 16 week midwife appt as it's too hard to find and would cause worry, but I saw a consultant as a one off at the same point and they listened to it so it's definitely possible.

AliceRR · 16/08/2018 20:40

Cannot find a link for the New Look trousers I have unfortunately. It says “Ponte Leggings” on the receipt and they cost £14.99 but none of the maternity leggings on the website appear to be the ones (I bought mine in store - leeds).

Worth having a look in store if you can. They are like a thick legging material but they are super comfy and look like skinny black trousers. I don’t usually wear leggings but I like these. I’ve worn them every day this week so far!

Since2016 · 16/08/2018 20:40

@undercoverlauren I wouldn’t. I have decided not to watch the rest of series 2 as I genuinely have felt really very upset all week.

Alicejj8x · 16/08/2018 20:46

Yeh I got the heart beat played to me at my 12 week scan but it was literally a second of it
