@Lookingforadvice123
Yeh I wasn't sure but I googled it and the nhs said soft icecream
Is ok but there's so many diff opinions on it isn't there

Lookingforadvice123 · 26/08/2018 21:41

When do we stop taking folic acid/other vits? I was taking pregnacare but it makes me feel so sick I can't carry on with it so I've just been taking folic acid on it's own the last week or so, but I'm keen to stop them all together!

lanalawr · 26/08/2018 21:53

@Lookingforadvice123 You should take vitamin D throughout your pregnancy but can stop folic acid at 12 weeks I think.

Still tired here too. I keep thinking it's getting better then crash out. Can't wait to start feeling movements now. I thought a couple of times I could but it's so infrequent I'm not sure.

Yakadee · 26/08/2018 21:58

I thought it was just the whippy ice cream as it's not pasteurised? X

Yellow100 · 27/08/2018 04:42

@lulabell1 thank you, reassuring. I'll find out more on weds. Will speak to midwife and have private scan in eve. Im very petite and my stomach muscles have compensated for a weak lumber spine plus I think my uterus might be retroverted. I can't wait to feel baby!

welshweasel · 27/08/2018 08:19

Even mr whippy is fine these as all vans are hygiene inspected so enjoy!!

As above need vitamin d all through pregnancy but can stop everything else. It’s not dangerous to carry on with folic acid/pregnacare though to use up what you have.

MrsY87 · 27/08/2018 08:57

@Yellow100 with both my previous pregnancies I was still in normal jeans til about 19/20w and couldn't tell I was pregnant really until a bit later unless I was wearing a tight top. I'm 15w with twins this time and although I'm wearing my mat jeans already I don't think you'd realise I'm pregnant unless you know iykwim? I really wouldn't worry about not really having a bump yet, everyone carries differently.

I've had mr whippy since being pregnant, It didn't even cross my mind that you shouldn't! although I think it's like all these things you decide on the level of risk you are happy with!

@Baby160P I'm still exhausted I'm going to bed about 9 every evening and still needing a nap most days!

Is anyone else still being sick? Doesn't matter what it is but the first thing I eat or drink every morning comes straight back up...I've had enough now!

Lookingforadvice123 · 27/08/2018 08:58

Oops my pregnacare has vit D in it but I've stopped that. I need to buy just vitamin D in small tablet form today then!

welshweasel my midwife said McFlurries are fine (Yey) but not Mr Whippy, the advice from different sources is bound to be different though!

kjonesey2 · 27/08/2018 09:15

Who do I need to message to get added to the facebook group?

14+2 today, nausea seems to have finally let up (mostly!), just very very tired now!

jeanzbeanz · 27/08/2018 09:27

I'm 17 weeks today, and baby is apparently five inches! No wonder I suddenly have a bump! I'm still struggling with insomnia and low blood pressure. Not being sick very often any more - about twice a week - but still feel sick sometimes, especially on evenings.

clairehr · 27/08/2018 09:52

Hell yes to the exhaustion still, it's the only thing I'm still to shake from the first trimester!

@kjonesey2 Send @FrowningFlamingo a PM and she will get you added to FB group, always happy to welcome newcomers over there, much easier to follow conversations too I find 🤗

DeliberatelyGinger · 27/08/2018 09:57

I slept 12 hours last night after visiting my Mum and then my little sister with her new baby. DH is cooking me breakfast as we speak. I'm 13+4

jeanzbeanz · 27/08/2018 11:03

Ugh, after saying my nausea is now mainly evenings... I of course then promptly threw up.

DragonFlew · 27/08/2018 11:23

14 weeks today! Baby is the size of a troll doll apparently!

DragonFlew · 27/08/2018 11:24

@Lookingforadvice123 how strange my mw said no to mcflurrys! Sometimes I wonder if they even know - the advice changes so often!

Lookingforadvice123 · 27/08/2018 11:32

Feeling sorry for myself today. 14+5 and still nauseous every late afternoon/evening, and I've also recently been hit by crippling tiredness. I slept over 9 hours last night and am sleeping well over 8 hours every night, yet I'm exhausted. I do remember the tiredness at this stage from my last pregnancy but I wasn't feeling sick any more and it wasn't so hard as I didn't also have a toddler! Ugh.

Baby160P · 27/08/2018 13:45

Is anyone doing a private NCT?

I am negative about it for the pure fact of i have a friend who is a few weeks further along than me and all I get since we've told people is..... I'm doing this are you? I'm feeling the baby are you? Oh you'll feel like this in a few weeks.

It's actually peeing me off. I don't know if it's the hormones but I just want to say F off!!!!

Do people go my child's doing this is yours?

I've worked with children for years so I am fully aware each child is different and grows at their own rate as-well as now all pregnancy's are different.

RANT

Notquiteagandt · 27/08/2018 14:13

@Baby160P

What is a privaite NCT? I am planning on doing nct classes. But just the normal antinatal ones.

Has anyones bump shrank/changed shape?
15w today had a bad week so my weights dropped. My bumps moved slightly higher so maybe a reason why. But it seems loads smaller. So naturally im a tad worried.

Lookingforadvice123 · 27/08/2018 14:32

Baby160p yep I'm afraid it only gets worse when the babies are here! Depends on the person, but I came across a few baby-braggers, and I left my Mumsnet January 2016 Facebook group when DS was about 9-10 months as I was sick of it! I kid you not, you'll get all sorts. One mum on the group had a baby who didn't sleep, and she would go on about how it meant her baby was actually really clever and advanced - so basically saying all babies who did sleep were average and nothing special Grin

lanalawr · 27/08/2018 15:55

@Baby160P I've had some of that with dd but more often people asking "is your baby doing x" then when I said no telling me they were relieved because theirs wasn't either but they saw one who was. Most people I've come across haven't bragged too much about things but maybe I've been lucky. You're likely to often get comparisons though.

I did NCT the first time and it was fab for having Mum friends in the same stage as you. I'm not going to do it this time though. I've already got a good support network of Mum friends and some will be off at the same time as me (but with slightly different age babies).

Alicejj8x · 27/08/2018 16:32

14+4 today and have a few aches & pains nothing major has anyone else got these pains?..

Also yes to the tiredness I'm struggling with that again today

AliceRR · 27/08/2018 16:36

@Alicejj8x What kind of aches and pains do you have?

I am 16+1 and been having pains around too of my legs / pelvis for at couple of weeks.

Seem to have another cold now and have REALLY aches shoulders! Been trying to avoid painkillers since I found I am pregnant but very tempted at the moment!

Alicejj8x · 27/08/2018 16:43

@AliceRR
I think there round ligament pain tbh but just abit like stretching and a few little aches.

I had the achy legs last night feels horrible doesn't it :(

I know what you mean but if you honestly feel
Rubbish I would just take
One xx

Since2016 · 27/08/2018 17:22

@baby160p I did NCT the first time and would really rate it. We only had one ‘baby bragger’ and tbh she was just socially awkward. Although I did hate the comparisons first time round to my bump etc.

I second @lanalawr as I already have a great support network now from first time round inc Nct friends, some of whom are pregnant again too / already have had number 2.

@lookingforadvice123 haha we were on the same group. I know who you’re talking about - she was quite sweet just struggling with a non sleeper I think. The group was fine in the beginning but I left when DD was just over a year. I was struggling with TTC and found some of them really insensitive - in the end it was better for my mental health and a large part about why I left Facebook entirely and won’t rejoin another group this time!

Fredthespider · 27/08/2018 17:53

We're going to do NCT. We have lots of little ones that we're close to either through family or friends, however they all live at least 2 hours away so we're looking to make some local friends in the same boat as us. We're also considering a hypnobirthing course that's recommended by the local NHS trust.
