AliceRR they sound amazing for work, do you have a link?

thismeansnothing · 15/08/2018 12:03

@lanalawr ah office based is a pain. Sketchers might be worth a look. My husband has them for work his are a trainer but plain black and fairly smart so he can get away with those. But even their shoes are memory foam and really wide so might be worth investigating

Leonora94 · 15/08/2018 12:05

@DragonFlew How did it go? Sorry I missed your message yesterday. Mines at 3.40....feels like forever away!

Alicejj8x · 15/08/2018 13:54

@DragonFlew hope it went okay! Xx

Since2016 · 15/08/2018 14:05

Crikey. I lost the thread and it’s on page 3 already!

Fully embracing mat wear. Told another friend last night who is 6 weeks ahead of me - she’s so excited!

I’m working as close to the end of Jan as poss. Due date 15th but section the week before. I was so swollen last time tho I went off at 35 weeks. So we’ll see how I go! Not sure how long I can take off. I’d like to go back in November next year but we’ll see what’s affordable. I took a full year with DD. Planning to move house next year too so would be good to be off to do that!

Welcome newbies!

No idea re shoes - I lived in cheap ballet pumps last time. Out of heels by 7 months. By the end I couldn’t even fit flip flops on I was so swollen. Cold feet! January baby!

NurseB · 15/08/2018 14:26

So at work today 2 people have told me it's too soon to be showing!! (I'm 13+4). I know it's probably still a bit of bloat... but now I'm walking around trying to breathe in a bump that really doesn't want to be breathed in! And I work in a Drs surgery and it was a GP and a Nurse that made the comments. Grrrrrrrrr. #thoughtless!

Surprisedmom · 15/08/2018 14:38

@NurseB I would ignore their comments, everyone is different when it comes to pregnancy so if you’re showing then you’re showing and that’s nothing to suck up (or in).

I sort of wish I was showing more - I can tell I have more of a tummy, but anyone who didn’t know me before pregnancy couldn’t tell yet. Not showing is working to my advantage as i’m a supply teacher and trying to find a new job for September, but on the other hand I can’t wait to be pregnant enough for strangers to notice.

DragonFlew · 15/08/2018 14:45

Scan went so well! Baby was asleep so I had to do some wriggling to wake him/her up to get the measurements! My due date is 25th Feb. 12+2 today!
I'm so happy and relieved everything is ok. Now I can get excited!

Since2016 · 15/08/2018 14:51

Ignore them @nurseb it is entirely dependent on the person. I wasn’t showing until 20 weeks with DD, showing this time by 10! Saw a friend last night who is 20 weeks and you cannot tell at all!!! People are so bloody rude. I’ve been told I’m huge by several people already - lovely!

Since2016 · 15/08/2018 14:51

That’s @dragonflew lovely news!!! Almost all of us done then ?

NurseB · 15/08/2018 14:54

Thanks @Since2016 and @Surprisedmom - made me feel much better! And congratulations @DragonFlew - isn't it the most amazing thing to see? Xx

Baby160P · 15/08/2018 15:00

We have a bit of an announcement weekend so I'm desperately thinking of clothes to wear to hide it. It's suppose to be 27 degree so no baggy jumpers lol. Our cousin guessed as soon as I got out the car and got my handbag so obviously showing more than I realised!

Alicejj8x · 15/08/2018 15:08

@DragonFlew
Yay! So so happy for you xxxx

Picklesandpies · 15/08/2018 15:22

Hi all, haven't been around much as I'm on holiday - come back a week on Friday. Morning sickness finally abated. Happy days. Have 16 week check when I get back. Having to travel about 30 mins for urine and blood pressure test (think that's all they do?) as away when they do it at my local hospital. Have a bump now - it's definitely started to 'pop'. Parents and brother joining us on Friday so hoping we can go out for a nice meal, just the two of us which will be nice.

Does anyone know what the deal is with sex positions at this point? We are very boring and favour missionary (if it isn't broken don't fix it etc!) but dh said he could feel my bump the last time and I was a bit nervous having his weight there. We've abandoned it for now but does anyone know whether it's a safety thing or just a comfort thing?

hayley013 · 15/08/2018 15:26

I didn't show until around 18 weeks with DD but I've got a bump now at 13+5, have done for over a week now. Walked into my friends and she got a shock so didn't need to tell her haha. Everyone is different xx

Leonora94 · 15/08/2018 15:28

Sat in the waiting room waiting to go in to be scanned so nervous!

AliceRR · 15/08/2018 15:29

@picklesandpies I believe it is a comfort thing unless you have a high risk pregnancy or have been advised not to do certain things. I have been reluctant to have sex as I feel like DH will squash the baby(!) but actually the last time we did it (a few days ago) was the most comfortable. Missionary is fine for us. I think it’s ok as long as you are comfortable with it. I haven’t had any bleeding or spotting after sex but I undeestand that is not unusual.

Alicejj8x · 15/08/2018 15:36

@Leonora94
Good luck Hun! Xx

Notquiteagandt · 15/08/2018 16:32

I am 13w4d and was in shop before. An old woman smiled at me looked at my belly and said "aww well aren't you in for a lovely treat" so I take that to mean I am noticibly pregnant.

My 1st so surprised how big Ive gone already tbh. All belly though as ive lost quite alot of weight.

Notquiteagandt · 15/08/2018 16:32
  • 13w2d even
Baby160P · 15/08/2018 16:51

Good luck with your scans everyone today!

When I had the car accident Monday no one knew and a police lady pulled me aside to ask if I was pregnant as she could tell. 🙈

I was taken straight to hospital that was and seen within 20 minutes. So impressed with the police and nhs after that.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 15/08/2018 17:02

@emalady

Yep.. dreams and sex drive have both increased loads.. 😂

@NurseB

I’ve been showing since fairly early, most of it will be bloat I know, doesn’t change the fact my clothes don’t fit though! 13+5 today..

twiglet · 15/08/2018 17:10

Thanks for the trouser suggestions will have a look Smile

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and definitely showing its been the last few days before it was definitely bloating but this is there in the mornings when usually the bloat would have disappeared!

Re positions not a clue I still feel way too crap still have nausea and still in bed before 9. Was having a kiss etc the other morning thinking I was better and then started wretching it's a bit of a mood killer! Blush

Leonora94 · 15/08/2018 17:23

All perfect! Baby was sucking it’s thumb! To cute xxx

maxiflump1 · 15/08/2018 17:29

Yay for those good scans today @Leonora94 and @DragonFlew! Is that it for scans now or is anyone else waiting still...?

Welcome @NurseB I'm 38 next month so no spring chicken either. Think there are a few on us in our late 30s/early 40s.
