New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

Anyone else done something super dumb that can only (surely) be pregnancy related?

Just had DH turning house upside down for car keys. Gone out in the rain to find that I had left them ON TOP OF THE CAR for 4 HOURS. And we’re having road works so it’s not even in front of the house.

😳😫

Baby160P · 24/08/2018 20:37

@Since2016 my OH found our hand soap in the fridge yesterday 🙈😂

Lulabell1 · 24/08/2018 21:26

@since2016 i cashed up at work tonight and i done it 4 times because we was £200 over in cash to realise half hour later i was counting the float into it aswell...full on baby brain

DeliberatelyGinger · 24/08/2018 21:40

I don't know how I'll tell the difference. I've put the house keys in the fridge before I was pregnant... And I knew where they were when asked

AliceRR · 24/08/2018 21:51

@Alicejj8x I ordered a pillow- same as yours I think - £40 from Argos. Collecting tomorrow

@Since2016 I’ve got a cyst like spot in my ear and my ears are blocked with wax since I got pregnant. Should be having them syringed but putting anything in them makes me feel sick so I haven’t been able to use the olive oil that they require you to use before getting them syringed! I just got a twinge in one so worried I might have ear ache on the way...

@Fredthespider Went to preg yoga tonight and really enjoyed it. Instructor was lovely, it was a nice group and she is pregnant herself and has had kids before so was v knowledgable about pregnancy and childbirth. I think it will vary from one instructor to another but I recommend giving it a go.

AliceRR · 24/08/2018 21:53

Oh I’ve got proper baby brain. I can’t do simple maths and kept losing my phone a couple of weekends ago. One time invoked getting a shop manager to check the cctv as I was convinced I’d paid at that checkout with my phone but turned out it was at home!

jeanzbeanz · 24/08/2018 21:58

Thanks for the pillow recommendations ladies!

I came to this thread to ask a question but now I can't remember what it was... yes my brain is definitely not running at 100% capacity. (it's a real thing apparently - pregnant women have less brain cells or something.)

Surprisedmom · 24/08/2018 22:50

I am a teacher and dreading starting work in September with baby brain. I’m not great at names at the best of times and am going to have to learn hundreds of them!

FrowningFlamingo · 25/08/2018 00:35

I can't remember if I've said this already but our house alarm turns on and off with a key fob, my car locks by touching the handle with no fob required. I keep getting home and pointing the alarm fob at the car, getting irritated that it's not working while poor DH is standing very, very still indoors as I'm actually turning the house alarm on Grin

fizzledays · 25/08/2018 07:22

I'm usually the super organised one in our marriage and DH is definitely struggling with me not being "on top of everything". I'm slower to pick up on what he's saying and definitely not processing things as quickly. Crazy!!!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/08/2018 07:39

Love all these baby brain stories! Ladies pregnant with number 1, I hate to break it to you but your brain never returns to full capacity even after birth! I'm dreading the state mine will be in when number 2 is here.

hayley013 · 25/08/2018 07:59

Haha @Lookingforadvice123 I was thinking that. I'm useless at the moment, had to start using a diary for EVERYTHING when dd landed, so it's just a bit busier now with silly things I know I'll forget. I get called the list queen lol xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 25/08/2018 08:50

I’m proper ditzy when pregnant... my work mates are laughing st me as I’m usually pretty meticulous and I’m all about attention to detail 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I have to disagree though, it does come back! Takes longer if you’re a SAHM as there’s little stimulation in that, but back in the work place its good 👌🏼

FrowningFlamingo · 25/08/2018 08:51

I was really looking forward to a lovely snuggly lie in with DH as it's the first day for ages we don't have loads to do. My hips have been hurting so much overnight I've slept terribly and now feel really sick. We went to bed really late too in anticipation of the lie in. I think I might actually cry :(
Sorry to moan, I feel better just for ranting a bit...

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/08/2018 09:38

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I feel like a complete phoney in work, winging it constantly Grin my line manager assured me I'm actually doing better (as I essentially do the exact same role in 4 days now instead of 5) but I constantly feel like how Joey must feel in Friends - you know the episode with the encyclopaedias!

hayley I would be lost without my reminders app on my phone. EVERYTHING goes on there!

powkin · 25/08/2018 10:21

My team laughed at me when I said schizofreezia instead of schizophrenia. A few sentences later one of them mangled something much simpler so that became a nice case of schadenfraude.

I’m now firmly in week 14 but still exhausted. This weekend every evening has been miserable, just semi comatose lump on the sofa. DH is being very sweet but I hate feeling so useless. I kept having to stifle a yawn during a session with a client on Friday, I must have been making all sorts of weird faces!

Yakadee · 25/08/2018 10:22

@FrowningFlamingo - I hear you on the hip pain - ouch!

Also, feel your pain on not lying in (although I never get to as have a 2.5yo) x

jeanzbeanz · 25/08/2018 10:35

Re brain fog - this is what I read in What to Expect! So fret not ladies, our brains will return to normal... 😋

FrowningFlamingo · 25/08/2018 11:14

@Yakadee I feel like that makes it worse though as I know I won't be able to have proper lie-ins for ages once we have a child. I'm totally aware I'm being utterly unreasonable though...

emalady · 25/08/2018 11:22

I read all the baby brain stories and felt very lucky I'm doing OK. Just popped out to the shops, locking up the house on the way. Came home and realised I have lost the back door key. It only ever lives in the door or on a hook near the door. Absolutely no idea what I have done😅

Baby160P · 25/08/2018 12:29

Hip pain/ back pain wise I would highly recommend a osteopath. I unfortunately had the car accident 2 weeks ago and needing treatment for my injuries from that.

However a positive (glass half full) I've just had my back cracked and I feel amazing!

AutumnLee12 · 25/08/2018 14:01

Hi all id like to join please!
I'm due 14th feb with first dc (hopefully not valentines though haha)

Alicejj8x · 25/08/2018 14:04

@AliceRR
Ahh yay! It'll be the best thing you've ever brought i promise ahha

clairehr · 25/08/2018 14:20

Welcome @AutumnLee12 Happy and healthy pregnancy to you! How are you feeling?

Re baby brain, I thought I was doing ok... But today made me and other half cheese on toast for lunch. Trouble is forgot to toast one side of the bread. Blah.

FrowningFlamingo · 25/08/2018 14:23

@Baby106P thanks, unfortunately I have hypermobility and tried osteopathy before and was told I wasn't suitable as my muscles react badly to the manipulation and spasm horribly for days - much worse than the pain I went there for :(
I was gutted as for the first day I was pain free for the first time in years.
Thanks for the suggestion though!
