New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

Anyone thats a bit further on than me felt any movements yet? The midwife said from 18-20 weeks but can feel even soon esp with second baby onwards...if i lay on my side o feel really pregnant its almost like u can feel something in there but no movements x

jeanzbeanz · 21/08/2018 22:26

I'm glad it's not just me. My mum cheerfully told me that it's my body's way of preparing me for less sleep once the baby is here. Still, I'm sure I'd feel loads better if I had better quality sleep!

I feel guilty saying it, but I have hated being pregnant so far - and I don't see myself ever doing it again! Everyone says oh you'll forget and you'll want another.... but I reeeally can't see myself opting to go through weeks of feeling this ill again.

jeanzbeanz · 21/08/2018 22:27

Oops I'm sure I always sound like a real moaner on here!! I do realise that I've got lots to be grateful for and I'm thankful that I've had no complications so far.

cheesegobbler · 21/08/2018 22:51

Just a quick one for you non sleepers. Do some research on BACH rescue remedies, there is a night one that had a piece on it on one of my pregnancy apps. Also boots botanics sleep spray is good, I have them both as I have suffered in and off with insomnia but would never medicate x

Surprisedmom · 21/08/2018 22:51

@jeanzbeanz it’s ok to moan, the whole ‘pregnancy is glorious’ thing clearly isn’t true when it comes to a lot of things. So whilst I’m sure you’ll get through it and be smiling when you see your baby at the end, don’t feel like you need to pretend it’s all roses if it’s not.

maxiflump1 · 21/08/2018 22:58

@Lulabell1 I'm 16 weeks on Friday and I've been feeling movement for the last week. It is my second though and didn't feel anything until about 20 weeks with my first. This time it's the butterfly feelings and the odd flipping sensation. Can't describe it any other way!

@Surprisedmom thanks for understanding xx

FrowningFlamingo · 22/08/2018 06:48

jeanzbeanz it's totally ok to moan. I've been generally lucky symptoms wise but still have a moan most days. Pregnancy is hard!
A lovely friend of mine said that you'll want to moan loads but might feel a bit guilty for it but it's ok and normal. She said I could message her any time to whinge and I have been - I bet she regrets that now Grin
I'm kind of the opposite to you - I've always said I only want one child but I'm already thinking I might like two. To my horror and surprise I think it's been since finding out the sex - I feel like I might want one of each after all! I really didn't think I cared about that at all. Though I'm very aware I could have two boys, which would be fine of course. I'm hoping it's all just hormones talking and it will fade away soon enough!

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/08/2018 07:18

jeanzbeanz don't feel guilty moaning to us, we're all in the same boat! This is my second pregnancy, I was very anxious throughout my first but not as ill, I'm much more chilled now so thought I would enjoy it but nope. Anyone who enjoys feeling like death and being sick for weeks on end is crazy. I hated being pregnant last time and I feel like even when/if I finally feel better this time, I'll still hate it. It's a means to an end for me!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 22/08/2018 07:25

@Lulabell1

Not sure how far gone you are, but I’ll be 15 weeks tomorrow, been feeling movement for about a week or two now.

Baby160P · 22/08/2018 07:54

Has anyone had rib pain (14 weeks tomorrow) like feel very tender?

I don't know whether it's whip lash related or pregnancy related. 🙈

DragonFlew · 22/08/2018 08:13

Told my boss last night! He was very happy for me, we get on well so it was a nice chat actually, we are the same age so we ended up comparing how different lives are, he's enjoying the bachelor life and I'm about to have no 3!
I think he was pleased I had told him first, so it went well!

bubblybrit · 22/08/2018 08:28

Is anyone else really struggling with work? I’m still exhausted all the time as not sleeping at all at night. Plus I’ve got mild sciatica at my right hand side so I’m sore constantly! Each day is torture and I count down until 5pm!

Rowse · 22/08/2018 08:36

@hayley013 I'm hoping it's the pregnacare, really useful to know your midwife has come across that before, thank you. I've decided to have a break from it for a couple of days and see how I feel. Already feel less nauseous today and overnight. Fingers crossed! X

Rowse · 22/08/2018 08:43

I'm struggling with sleep too, not as bad as some of you but I wake up between 4am-6am every day and it takes a long time to go back to sleep.
Luckily I'm on my honeymoon for two weeks so have been able to nap in the day or go back to sleep for a while most mornings but I know I'd be really struggling if I was getting up for work at 7 and commuting, hopefully this phase will end for us soon.
Just when you get used to one annoying pregnancy symptom there seems to be another one to surprise you!

BammyK · 22/08/2018 08:43

Hi all! Glad to be here. Has anyone experienced stomach aches? I've had these aches in my stomach (just below my boobs) every morning if I eat or not and it stays till late morning. I threw up a lot in my first trimester and still do somedays so not sure if that's why. Obs just gave me something for heartburn but doesn't feel like it.

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/08/2018 09:22

Are any other second time mums (or third or fourth!) just not bothered about all the stuff they were when pregnant with the first, pregnancy apps etc? Just realised I'm 14 weeks today and don't think I looked at my new week on my app since I was about 10 weeks! Feel guilty haha.

Celebelly · 22/08/2018 09:44

Our plan was always to be one and done and I've not changed my mind yet!

Notquiteagandt · 22/08/2018 10:03

@jeanzbeanz I am the same. Always wanted a big family but hyperemesis has been horrific. I know no way could go through this again. So this will be my only child.

I on a daily basis say how hard im finding it all / cry / complain.

Then feel guilty and spend ages stroking belly and praying babies ok.

Its totally normal...

Surprisedmom · 22/08/2018 11:47

@jeanzbeanz and @notquiteagandt I don’t know how you’re both coping, but you definitely shouldn’t feel guilty for moaning about it. I’ve barely been sick this pregnancy, but threw up all my breakfast this morning and have been an emotional wreck ever since (literally burst into tears because there were no car parking spaces at the station). You definitely have the right to moan if you’re feeling as ill as you both sound.

jeanzbeanz · 22/08/2018 11:57

@Notquiteagandt oh I'm so glad it's not just me saying "never again"!!! Pregnancy is absolutely dreadful and this child will definitely be an only child. If the pregnancy doesn't work out we will be accepting that having a family is not for us.

I have to admit that during the first few weeks I almost wished for a miscarriage just so I could feel like myself again. I think feeling so, so ill for weeks on end has really impacted my bonding with the baby. Even now I feel a bit resentful / disinterested towards it. 😳

This is the same lady who was heartbroken she didn't conceive earlier as I so desperately wanted a baby in 2018 🙈 hormones do funny things to you

AliceRR · 22/08/2018 11:58

@bubblybrit. I’m struggling with work. With tiredness and nausea in the first tri, I feel like that’s wasing off a bit but this week I feel really faint. Not conducive to being productive. Plus tbh I have also been distracted due to the excitement etc of being pregnant! I’ve been feeling guilty as I know my productivity is less than it was but at the same time I know I’m trying. Last year I beat my financial targets massively so I It’s unlikely I’m just being lazy now although my focus has changed slightly. Also now sleeping well so that has an effect!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 22/08/2018 12:12

Is anyone else getting their husband a vasectomy when this pregnancy is over?

I AM!

It's our second and I am not doing it again. I love being a mum and love our baby, but the extreme sickness just got more extreme this time.

I am done!!

welshweasel · 22/08/2018 12:15

I had a horrendous first pregnancy....said never again. Sold all our baby stuff! Yet here I am, 2 rounds of ivf later so can’t even say we didn’t really try. It’s amazing what the human mind can forget 😂
