New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

I've just been horribly sick! First time I've thrown up in this pregnancy and in 20 years. Bless my lovely DP for rubbing my back and helping clean up. Hope it's a one off :(

Alicejj8x · 21/08/2018 18:18

@AliceRR
Yeah the 5th October you?

Baby160P · 21/08/2018 18:28

@AliceRR apparently your growing uterus can put pressure on your blood vessels which make you feel dizzy. Hopefully this is the case.

I have had lots of stretching twinges this week so far.

MakeLemonade · 21/08/2018 18:35

@Picklesandpies yep, they’re quite long - I’m 5ft6 and could do with them being a little shorter to sit on my ankle. They do them in a dark blue denim as well as the black. I’ve got my eye on a grey jumper with black stars that they do as well. I was surprised too, I wouldn’t have set foot in there during my first pregnancy (10yrs ago!) but they seem to be better now.

Lulabell1 · 21/08/2018 18:59

Really suffering with headaches recently

AliceRR · 21/08/2018 19:04

@Alicejj8x 26th Sept but think I am due a bit earlier than you (10 Feb) although presumably due dates might change after 20 week scans

AliceRR · 21/08/2018 19:04

@Baby160P yes hopefully it’s just hard to know what’s normal and when to call doc / MW, although this forum helps a lot!

DragonFlew · 21/08/2018 19:11

@ALICERR due date is unlikely to change after 12 week scan. Although it does occasionally happen!

Surprisedmom · 21/08/2018 19:30

@AliceRR I think dizziness without fainting is quite normal in pregnancy, even fainting is it’s just a concern if you faint a lot or if you properly black out (versus just temporarily going). At least that’s what the ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’ book says. It also says try to eat a mix of carbs and protein with each meal, so maybe try and eat different things at lunch all week and see if you’re better after any of them? Also mention it to your midwife though if you’re concerned.

For me, i’m always dizzier and weaker in the morning (not eating all night seems to lower my blood pressure), but everyone is different so I guess lunchtime is a trigger time for you.

Alicejj8x · 21/08/2018 19:34

@AliceRR
Ahh yeh I'm due 21st Feb but they did say to me my due date won't change now xx

Baby160P · 21/08/2018 19:41

Yes @Alicejj8x I think you're right. I believe the due date stays but you had the chart at the 12 week appointment whether baby is big or small on the percentile and then they just use the graph from now on.

powkin · 21/08/2018 19:48

I’m really sorry @craftymum01 - I can’t imagine how you are feeling right now. I’ve lost one early but that hope builds to quickly as the weeks go on. Thinking of you x

Since2016 · 21/08/2018 19:49

Due date shouldn’t change - hence the name ‘dating scan’. Babies grow at similar rates until after approx 14 weeks. Then it’s genetics. My fundal measurements (tummy) were always 2 weeks ahead with DD - no shit she was 9 11!

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/08/2018 19:55

Ye due date won't change. My 20 week scan is 3rd October, doesn't feel long away at all!

Is anyone else a bit suspicious of their due date? By mine I must have gotten pregnant on something ridiculous like cycle day 9. I've never used OPKs so don't know when I ovulated, but on a 27 day cycle I doubt it was that early. I was expecting to be moved forward a couple of days but I was moved forward a whole 6 days from my LMP date. DS was a week early so I guess it's just a guide anyway.

Yakadee · 21/08/2018 20:24

After having a sickness bug the last few days I've just enjoyed a lovely beefy / veggie stew with mash, was DELICIOUS! I bet my baby was dancing for joy for getting some real food other than toast! X

Since2016 · 21/08/2018 20:31

A little - by my EDD I conceived 6 days prior to ov... but they do say there’s about a 5 day margin of error?

Notquiteagandt · 21/08/2018 20:36

Well I apparently concieved 6 days after I dtd. So I am also a little confused by dates.

4 scans so far. 4 diff dates given.

Sticking to one given 12w scan now.

AliceRR · 21/08/2018 20:43

Oh I thought dates might change again if they measure again at 20 week scan!

I was confused by my due date. Based on first day of last period 7 May my due date was 11 Feb but dating scan said 10 Feb. So is that supposed to mean I conceived the day before my last period?? Or maybe it wasn’t a proper period? I think I got pregnant early on as I was feeling “hormonal” about a week after I’d just had a period...

AliceRR · 21/08/2018 20:44

Cause presumably it could just be a bigger or smaller than average baby so the dates are not exact anyway...

jeanzbeanz · 21/08/2018 20:56

Anyone else really struggling with sleep? It's taking me a couple of hours to fall asleep at night, and then I wake up when my husband's alarm goes at 5am and don't nod off again until 7ish 😢 so I'm not getting very many hours of sleep despite spending an awful lot of time in bed!

I'm also having a lot of very vivid dreams and seem to doze a lot rather than sleep deeply - I am often aware of what other people in the house are doing.

I'm sure I'd feel better if I had more quality sleep!

AliceRR · 21/08/2018 20:58

@jeanzbeanz I’m having trouble sleeping. Find it difficult getting comfy then often wake up 3-5am and struggle to get back to sleep before my alarm goes off at 7!

Having vivid dreams too but don’t mind that so much unless they become disturbing...

Baby160P · 21/08/2018 20:59

@jeanzbeanz I did at the weekend. But last night I slept 11-7:45 and I fell asleep again at 6 tonight on the sofa for 2 hours 🙈

Since2016 · 21/08/2018 21:12

Hideous nights sleep. Wake regularly now at 2 and then 4 and then 6 just before alarm - needing the loo each time. Thinking of it - I wonder if I have a uti again? 😩

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/08/2018 21:24

Just threw up AGAIN. 14 weeks tomorrow. I was so unprepared for this pregnancy, I felt loads better at this point with DS. I wonder if there's any truth to the old wives tale of different genders with more/less sickness?

jeanzbeanz sorry you're not sleeping well, sounds like you're having a really tough time with the sickness too. Fingers crossed it improves for you soon. I'm falling to sleep really quickly and deeply, but if I wake up in the middle of the night/early morning then it can take hours to go back to sleep so depends on that. If I don't get woken up then I'm sleeping really well. Having mad dreams!

Eyedontknow · 21/08/2018 21:53

@jeanzbeanz seems like we have really similar symptoms. I'm also falling asleep late and waking up early/struggling to get back to sleep. Been vomiting all day today again as well. People keep telling me "oh it'll get better by X weeks" and then that week comes around, I'm still getting ill, and then people just amend what they said and add on a few weeks. Hoping that it does let up eventually. The only good thing is that I'm 75% sure I've felt the baby moving.
