Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

I've just upped my hours at work and taken on some more overtime. Since we are moving in a few months we need the extra money. Now I'm worrying I'm overdoing it and going to be exhausted! I haven't told work yet, have been waiting to see my line manager in person - hopefully this afternoon!

How did everyone else break the news to their boss? I feel a bit nervous!

Yakadee · 21/08/2018 08:48

Maybe they have changed it then since my first. I have my appointment on Thurs so will let you know if they do.

@DragonFlew - I just told mine - just said I had something to tell him and just went for it. He's been great, really supportive and encouraging. He even said he was jealous! Lol - good luck xx

craftymum01 · 21/08/2018 09:00

Looks like I’m out ladies. Had some bleeding this morning and they can’t find a heartbeat on the scan. Currently waiting on the consultant to see what the next step is

Since2016 · 21/08/2018 09:07

Oh @craftymum01 I am so sorry.
How utterly hideous for you. Sending lots of love XX

DragonFlew · 21/08/2018 09:19

Yakadee · 21/08/2018 09:30

@craftymum01 - so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself. Sending lots of love xx

AliceRR · 21/08/2018 09:33

@DragonFlew @Eden23 I seem to have two 16week appts - 6 Sept and 11 Sept (assuming one is an error - waiting for a call back from MW to confirm) but my due date is 10 Feb so my appointment is late again too!

@craftymum01 so sorry to read this

MrsY87 · 21/08/2018 09:39

@craftymum01 I'm so sorry to read this, how awful for you. I hope you have some good RL support too. Take care of yourself. Big hugs

MrsY87 · 21/08/2018 09:43

I'll be 16+6 at my 16w appointment but I don't think it really matters if it's a few days out, they just check blood pressure, urine etc. I think they are more of a guide that you are supposed to have contact with a mw around 16w.

My 20w scan is actually at 19w as my DH is away the following week so they booked it a bit early so he could come along too.

I've also had my consultant appointment through for sometime between 17-18w so I'm going to be spending a lot of time at the hospital in September!

MakeLemonade · 21/08/2018 09:47

@craftymum01 I’m so sorry, will be keeping you in my thoughts today xx

Since2016 · 21/08/2018 09:49

My 16w appt isn’t until 18th sept... I’ll be 18 + 4... don’t think it matters. Just one more appt!

I have a cervical length scan and a foetal cardiac scan at Great ormond st in sept as well as my 20 week scan... I’m going to spending a lot of time in (other!) hospitals!

MakeLemonade · 21/08/2018 09:56

Anyone else slightly embarrassed by how big their bump is? I’m 14+2 and it feels like my bump is ridiculous - I can’t hide it! Best photo I can get attached. Suspect maternity clothes are making it more obvious and it is my third so little to no resistance!

I’m away at the moment and thank goodness I’m telling my team ASAP when I’m back as I think they would definitely guess.

I’ve also got a pregnancy massage today that I’m really looking forward to.

Re aspartame - it is probably the most rigorously tested food/drink additive we consume and the studies have shown that the worst thing it does is erode your teeth enamel. Not suggesting anyone should swap water for Diet Coke but the odd fizzy drink here or there is absolutely fine!

Lol @makelemonade it’s #2 for me and I’m the same! People keep saying how big I am! I’ve just popped out hugely. Like a little football. Nice to know it’s not just me!

Alicejj8x · 21/08/2018 10:45

@craftymum01
I am so so so sorry to hear this how awful :(
How far along was you?

Alicejj8x · 21/08/2018 10:45

@Baby160P
My Mw told me I would be hearing the heart beat at my 16 week appointment

jeanzbeanz · 21/08/2018 10:52

My midwife offered to show me the heartbeat at my 16 wk appointment without me asking.

To the PP who asked, I'm 16+1 and still feeling very nauseated although I've not actually thrown up properly since Friday evening. Cannot WAIT for it to stop.

My 20 wk scan is on 17th September.

welshweasel · 21/08/2018 11:03

I’ve got my 16 week appointment tomorrow and midwife said I’d hear the heartbeat. I’ve got my first obstetric appointment on Friday which will include a scan so not fussed either way. My 20 weeks scan is on the 10th September.

Picklesandpies · 21/08/2018 11:25

@MakeLemonade mine is like that too. I'm 16 weeks tomorrow. I've suddenly popped in the last two weeks! I like your dungarees - are they maternity? You look great.

MakeLemonade · 21/08/2018 11:28

@Picklesandpies - thanks, they are JoJo Maman Bebe - soooo comfy!

Very pleased it’s not just me. I popped early with my second too but then stayed the same size for ages so hopefully that will happen again and I won’t be ginormous.

Celebelly · 21/08/2018 11:32

@craftymum01 So so sorry to hear this x

Re: the Downs testing, we had ours as we had discussed the issue prior to falling pregnant and both agreed we would terminate if there were severe chromosomal abnormalities, so it was necessary for us for that point. I think though that even if we had been determined to not terminate no matter what we probably would have done it anyway just so we were prepared. We said that if we got a high risk result from the NT we would pay for NIPT, but thankfully we didn't have to do that.

Jesscaar · 21/08/2018 11:34

Just had my 16 week appointment, and we had a listen to the heartbeat. Didn't last long as baby kicked the mic with a bit of a thud and moved out of the way!

Celebelly · 21/08/2018 11:34

My 20-week scan is 17th Sept. Less than a month now!

I've been having annoying tension headaches for the last 10 days or so. They're pretty much constant although worse in mornings. Paracetamol takes the edge off but they're always there niggling. Going to mention it to midwife tomorrow but probably just another glamorous pregnancy thing...

Yakadee · 21/08/2018 11:46

@Celebelly - I'm not far behind you on 18th September! Can't wait.

Also, I've had loads of headaches recently, maybe a bit less the last week or so but have been suffering with them. I've read it is a prego thing x
