Athers you poor thing!

If it's any help I'm constantly wetting my pants 😂
Can't leave the house without a panty liner on and a few spares in my bag... I spoke to my midwife recently about it because I've got constant pressure in my bladder and i can't tell anymore wether my bladder is full and heavy or wether baby is lying on it... so when I go for a wee sometimes I don't empty properly and what's left can "leak out" if I sneeze or cough haha! She said it's totally normal....and just one of those lovely pregnancy perks
Hope that makes sense... I can't seem to put what's in my head down in black & white 😂😊

peachesarenom · 03/09/2018 19:22

My vision went super blurry but my blood pressure was fine so they wanted to check I hadn't had a stroke! Was a bit scary but got the all clear so yay! @MagicalCreatures

Athers666 · 03/09/2018 19:23

@December2018 Thanks for that, I feel better that it's relatively normal/common! Although sucks that you're having to deal with it. I've be frantically googling premature labour wondering if it was the waters breaking or something.

Cakelaur · 03/09/2018 23:38

@peachesarenom they're going to be keeping an eye on me for the third trimester. The aim is to get to at least 30 weeks but I wanna keep him cooking for as long as possible. My placenta may move in which case at 32 weeks we can relax. But who knows. No signs of bleeding yet and I'm 25 weeks today. 🤞🏻🤞🏻how scary for you with the MRI. Glad everything is ok though.

Had my whooping cough jab today. Gotta book in for the flu jab in a month.

MagicalCreatures · 04/09/2018 00:32

@peachesarenom gosh that must have been a scary moment. But thankfully nothing to worry about.
@Athers666 I agree with December2018
Definitely just a pregnancy ‘perk’. With my bladder condition combined with pregnancy, my bladder is all over the place. I’m peeing up to 6 times in the night. I’m leaking out dribbles of urine during the day. Baby keeps jabbing my bladder too. And I have a constant feeling of a full bladder but when I go, only the tiniest dribble comes out. Very frustrating x

I'm 90% certain that I'm wetting myself too Grin it's such a glamorous time!

I'm off to pregnancy yoga tonight. £10 a class! But it is 2 hours and there is free tea and cake so.... ;)

Athers666 · 04/09/2018 16:53

So glad it's not just me😂

marthvader · 04/09/2018 17:09

@Athers666 yeah I sneezed the other day and pee came out. I had just put fresh knickers on too 🤦‍♀️

Athers666 · 04/09/2018 17:12

I guess having our bladders stamped on doesn't help😂

December2018 · 04/09/2018 17:17

Haha mine is being used as a trampoline as we speak...
Anyone got any cravings yet?
Mine is marsbars... but they have to be warm and squishy and raspberry lemonade 😂

Athers666 · 04/09/2018 17:33

Warm marsbars sounds quite nice! I am getting through loads of cream crackers with Philadelphia on them, mmm. Makes the baby whack me as well so he clearly likes it too😁

kaytees · 04/09/2018 20:30

@Athers666 totally normal and worse if it's not the first baby (I seem to remember this isn't your first but correct me if not!). I've had a cold for over a week and it's a fun little wee roulette every time I sneeze 😒

Athers666 · 04/09/2018 20:34

@kaytees Yep this is my second! Lol at wee roulette! Hope your cold clears up soon.

AGirlinLondon · 05/09/2018 18:16

28weeks done - all well and baby was head down (for that particular hour at least..) sadly that means his feet are right in my ribs!

Glucose tolerance wasn’t so bad either!

Good luck everyone with your upcoming appointments.

December2018 · 05/09/2018 18:24

Ohhhh! So your getting kicked in the ribs!
Sounds like fun lol
I had my 25 week appointment today all was fine I feel like my midwife can't wait to get rid of me sometimes tho

28 weeks sounds like such a long way away haha

December2018 · 05/09/2018 18:25

What happens at the glucose intolerance test... it hasn't been mentioned to me yet

Cakelaur · 05/09/2018 20:52

Went to see my consultant today about placenta previa. She was wonderful! So lovely and kind and answered all our questions. I was a little worried it was going to be a waste of time but she was so patient with us and I have complete faith in her and the hospital and my care. Feel really good!

How's everyone else doing?? Next appointment is 28weeks then scan at 32 and another appointment with her. Then we'll see.

Athers666 · 05/09/2018 21:10

Does everybody have the glucose test? It hasn't been mentioned to me at all yet.

Athers666 · 05/09/2018 21:12

@December2018 I find the midwife appointmemts to be very rushed as well, I'm only ever in there for about five minutes.

AGirlinLondon · 05/09/2018 21:25

I asked about the reasons for who got the glucose test today. They told me that in Chelsea and Westminster (which my hospital also falls under) everyone over the age of 30 gets it. But every trust is different and most don’t test everyone. The older you are (and other things like if you have had a big baby before) the more likely they will test you.

If they haven’t told you about it by now, you aren’t having it.

It’s a big palaver with buying loads of energy tablets and making a drink with it at an exact time before going to have a blood test, and they give you a sheet of instructions ahead of time. So you would definitely know if you had it coming at 28.

AGirlinLondon · 05/09/2018 21:27

@December2018 I feel like that too by the way. It took her three goes to take my blood today and it was because they were in such a rush.

I have loved going for private scans because they don’t rush me and I get to ask all my questions. Feel like I interrogate the NHS midwives in the allotted ten minutes I get!

SunshineSnowflakesDaydreams · 06/09/2018 01:02

I had my glucose test yesterday. Over 35 and previous big baby.
I also had a really great chat with my OB about our plan of attack for delivering this baby. My first ended in a severe tear (damn forceps!) and I want to be able to avoid another severe tear as much as possible. Her suggestions and usual clinic guidelines made me feel like I could actually go through another vaginal birth again! Such a weight off my shoulders. I've been in contact with Birth Afterthoughts too to arrange a debrief of my first labour and discuss what went wrong and if anything could have been avoided (probably not but worth asking). Feels strange going into this with so much info! Your first is so unknown and this time around it's all calculated decisions!

lrwe · 06/09/2018 07:11

@AGirlinLondon ahh that explains why I had it with my first son - he was born (and saved) by C&W love that place!

faykceb · 06/09/2018 07:25

Hi all just checking in.

@marthvader that sounds super stressful about the house. Hope you get it sorted you don’t need the extra stress!

27 weeks here and have been waiting for a growth scan. Called to chase appointment and was told the consultant had blocked it as he wasn’t concerned yet. Nice to let me know!! You ladies are so brave weighing yourself I haven’t weighed myself at all as think I would just get upset and don’t want to focus on that.

I had my first antenatal class this week (NHS one) about labour. 1st time here so found it helpful. Thinking of trying out a water birth and trying to be as active as possible. Going to try and just use gas and air but have no idea whether that will be enough pain relief. Planning to give birth at hospital although the local unit looked lovely. Have others developed birth plans yet?

I have a fur baby too Sammy. He is such a mamas puss we have daily snuggles together so worried he will find it hard. I’ve been playing clips of baby noise to try and get him used to baby sounds.

Can’t believe I’m almost in the last trimester now. Feels like baby will be here in no time but at same time so far away!

Oof, 24 week consultant appt today and it's definitely starting to feel real now! Was a bit rushed as the consultant was running so late but she did ask what I wanted to do about delivery and said a c section was fine with her, I have been so anxious that it'd get blocked by consultant after the specialist midwife tried to downplay my previous delivery! I'm also being referred to both birth options and perineal teams to discuss what happened last time / what I want this time so hopefully all will continue to go okay. I also have to do the dreaded GTT but wangled an early morning slot to minimise fasting!
