@AGirlinLondon a (well meaning) older lady told me last week it 'can't be good for the baby using those weight machines' when I went... i must invest in one of these faces you speak of!

AGirlinLondon · 22/08/2018 08:15

Haha @kaytees you can borrow mine! I was with my OH there last week and even he noticed people staring at me. I guess not too long ago pregnant women were basically quarantined. But I’m having a trouble free pregnancy and I’m sure it’s down to the exercise!

December2018 · 22/08/2018 09:42

Magical how are you this morning sweetie 😘

Trailbunny · 22/08/2018 10:53

Sounds like a bit of nerve involvement @December 2018. (I'm a Physio). Is your leg giving way? No pins n needles or numbness? loss of bladder/bowel control.
Due to sleeping on the left side the joint space on that side is getting a little squished, plus all the hormones making the joints a bit lax makes sciatica more common.
Try standing up straight, maybe against a wall and concentrate on drawing your stomach muscles in to give a bit more space in your lumbar spine joints. When standing think about slightly tilting your pelvis back to encourage the lower abs to engage. Its a tricky one.
But really I would pop n see your midwife first just to check that is what it is and they can easily refer you to the preggas physiology at your GP surgery if that is appropriate. xxxxxx

Trailbunny · 22/08/2018 10:55

*Physio, not Physiology :)

DottyA · 22/08/2018 13:05

Just caught up - @magicalcreatures that sounds terrifying. So glad it's all ok.

December2018 · 22/08/2018 14:20

Hey trialbunny thanks for that darl... yeah it does get quite tingly if I'm on it for a while it's only the one side when it kicks off but it's so painful (takes my breath away)
I'm gonna try and get in to see my midwife tomorrow see what she says
If not I have my 25 week appointment 2 weeks today... physio would be fab tho I think, I'm really debating reducing my hours in work I'm doing "part time" which is still 60 hours a week I'm a carer & work in the community going from house to house and it's really taking its toll now

89LP · 22/08/2018 17:10

Hello all,

(This is my first time posting) Can I join? I am due 31st December. Having a very rough time today my now ex bf decided he no longer wishes to be involved in the pregnancy and has been truly vile towards me and the baby. Anyway sorry to moan, I only know two mums so would love to chat to some of you on here. Had my anomaly scan today (i'm 21 weeks) and found out I am having a Girl :)

Wishing you ladies the best with your pregnancies! xx

MagicalCreatures · 22/08/2018 17:57

@December2018 it does sound abit like sciatica I’m afraid. I know a lot of people that have it and they all describe it the same way.
I’m doing well by the way. Thankyou for asking. I’m just spotting light brown now which is obviously the last of the bleed. After finally relaxing abit, I’m now back to panicking every time I go to the toilet.
Trying to cut my hours down too and only doing a max of 4 clients a day. At the moment 5 clients is about a 10 hour day/ 5 days a week and it’s really taking its toll on me too.
@89LP welcome Hun. You poor thing. How stressful for you at what should be such a special time.
Ofcorse, we are all here if you need us.
A girl? That’s wonderful. The boys seem to be dominating December at the moment. X

I agree on the sciatica. I get it if I don’t go to Yoga regularly

Welcome @89LP!!

Athers666 · 22/08/2018 19:23

89LP Congratulations on your baby girl! X

Athers666 · 22/08/2018 19:27

Had a horrible scare last night. Baby didn't move for what seemed like ages and I started to panic, tried the cold drink, playing him some music, rubbing my belly etc and nothing. Dh was saying oh he's probably just resting but I was getting really upset...was literally about to phone the hospital when 'pop' felt a kick! And then I couldn't sleep because he had a late night breakdancing session! Pregnancy is so worrying, like, all the time!
@magicalcreatures great to hear that you're doing well and are cutting down on work a little bit x

AGirlinLondon · 22/08/2018 20:13

@athers when I saw the midwife yesterday she said at this stage of pregnancy their movements change and they get lots of worried people (like me) turning up saying their baby has stopped moving. But they don’t give out this advice obviously because they want you to call and come in for a check.

Athers666 · 22/08/2018 20:27

@AGirlInLondon Oh that's good to know. Thanks for that. I can see why they don't freely give that information out as well. Mine sort of has a pattern of movements now but he doesn't always stick to it yet!

89LP · 22/08/2018 20:30

@athers666 thank you so much! I totally get what you mean about worrying, I was so worried before the scan today as I've been under so much stress. But baby was moving around and having a ball in my belly lol. I'm glad your worry was just a scare!

RhiCez · 22/08/2018 20:35

Hi everyone, hope it's ok for me to join! 23 weeks today, and only just heard from my friend (8 weeks pregnant) that this exists... I haven't been doing my research well enough! Would be great to hear from others at the same stage as me. Hope you're all having a good Wednesday.

89LP · 22/08/2018 20:45

@MagicalCreatures thank you for your kind words. Yes a little girl! Wow, I am only working 4 hours a day 2 days a week and yet I am absolutely exhausted after each shift. Getting serious back ache, I hope it eases up. Make sure you're resting when you can whilst doing long hours x

89LP · 22/08/2018 20:51

@ AGirlinLondon Thank you! I see you're a fellow Londoner :)

MagicalCreatures · 22/08/2018 20:52

@89LP I am trying but im self employed so money is tight (not getting paid holidays or sick pay) but I am gonna cut back. Baby is fat more important now x

89LP · 22/08/2018 21:18

@MagicalCreatures Of course,- money is very tight myself so I will probably need to up my hours. We are all just doing the best we can! x

AGirlinLondon · 22/08/2018 21:21

Yes @89LP and enjoying all the great experiences of being pregnant in a boiling London summer 😂

89LP · 22/08/2018 21:32

@AGirlinLondon oh my god, I was dying in the heatwave we had recently!! I felt like i was feeling double the heat of everyone else. I've never been so happy to see rain and be able to wear a coat hahaha.

DottyA · 23/08/2018 10:50

Hi @RhiCez!

I hated the summer weather. And I normally love heat and would happily live somewhere I could wear flip flops and shorts every day. Being stuck indoors with a grumpy toddler just was not fun.
