Mmmm tomato juice @BadBadBeans especially a nice spiced one!

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 18:41

Thank you everyone. I've managed to book a private scan for tomorrow as DH goes away with work on Monday for a few weeks and I'd like to get an answer before he goes I think. Still getting cramping but the bleeding seems to have eased for now. This pregnancy lark is such a worry! I'll be back to update tomorrow afternoon after the scan.

BadBadBeans · 27/07/2018 19:41

Omg @ladycarlotta, are we in fact married to the same man? My DH bloody loves that quote about ontogeny too 😂

@thefirsttimer those were the exact lollies I meant, and I have just despatched DH to buy some for me. (Not on a special pregnancy wish fulfilment shopping trip I hasten to add - he was going to the shops anyway to get beer...)

@sherbetdibdab yikes! Hopefully you're not so far out this time! Although there are distinct benefits to skipping two months of pregnancy....!

@FairySweetness wow, what a journey. Congratulations on your positive scan!

@toastfiend ugh, such a shame it happened just before the weekend. Hope you can try to do something nice to take your mind off it.

DS did a champion 3-hour nap this afternoon just when I was feeling my sickest. What a little star.

TortoiseshellM · 27/07/2018 19:53

@Angelmiracle according to the estimate vased on my last period I am around 8 weeks now. Will find out exactly on Tuesday can’t wait

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 20:11

@toastfiend that is great you can get scanned tomorrow fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

@Badbadbeans that is great he slept for you! How do you feel tonight?

@TortoiseshellM how exciting!! I'm 5+5 can't wait for my scan in 6 weeks time lol 😁

Anybody else EXTREMLY bloated !? Is it normal? I look 5 months pregnant not 5 weeks.

sherbertdibdab · 27/07/2018 20:23

Yes to the bloating @Newbie2703, probably not helped by the vast quantities of fruit I am eating at the moment! Pretty normal I think, had it last time round and it definitely settled down after a bit.

Newbie2703 · 27/07/2018 20:47

Thanks @sherbetdibdab glad I'm not the only 1 I'm also eating lots of fruit and veg suddenly.

HidCat · 27/07/2018 21:05

Congratulations @sherbertdibdab, @TortoiseshellM and @FairySweetness.

@toastfiend keeping everything crossed for you again. I'm sure it's fine, plenty of women have little bleeds from the cervix.

Gibbus · 27/07/2018 21:16

Hi ladies,
I'm 5 weeks today, the insomnia is really taking it out of me. I was awake at 02:30 this morning, hopefully when it cools down I'll be able to sleep better.

Wonderful scan pics, I've booked an early one for two weeks time. I can't wait 😊.

wordsmithereens · 27/07/2018 21:16

Gosh you guys move fast!

Definitely super bloated here as well. Felt a little bit better nausea wise today, but only during the early part of the day so I think it was just aftereffect of the medication I caved in and took yesterday. Hope this settles soon, I miss normal food!

peonylover22 · 27/07/2018 21:52

Yes v bloated here. And I have dreadful first trimester constipation. I remember this from last time but not what helped it. I’m eating loads of fruit and veg and drinking gallons of water. Tried prunes yesterday- nope. Tried kiwi fruit today - nope. Let me know if you’ve got any ideas! 😖

pushit · 27/07/2018 22:12

@Newbie2703 I was just going to post the same thing. I do actually look bigger than my 5month bump pic last time. It's ridiculous.

TortoiseshellM · 27/07/2018 23:00

@Newbie2703 @pennylover22 I’ve had a bad constipation for the past week or so and my bf suggested taking spoonfull of extra virgin olive oil and it helped massively! Went for a poo straight away and it was not painful! I also started drinking warm water with lemon 1st thing in the morn but I would not recommend this if you suffer from heartburn

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 23:50

@Newbie2703 was just off the phone to my mum and was telling her about the crazy bloating!! I was actually breathless talking to her Confused

www.woodshealth.com/bowel-care-plus-90-tablets.html

I know a child who has been to many specialists with constpstion and her mum was recommended these in her search for a cure. She swears by them. All natural but double check that they're safe in pregnancy.

》constipation

OP posts:
pushit · 28/07/2018 05:15

Anyone else not able to sleep as they feel too sick? I'm currently propped up by a huge cushion trying to breath the sickness away. Trying to remember this is a good thing.

TheOneWithTheBaby · 28/07/2018 07:22

@pushit, I hope you managed to
Go back to sleep a little bit.

@angelmiracle, I will look into that for constipation, thank you! It's funny how bowel movement goes from one extreme to the other at the moment.

I'm going on holiday soon, will be around 8 weeks. It's an all inclusive place and I'm a bit worried about the buffet food. I know they say no pre washed salad etc but that's mostly the sort of stuff I eat on a summer holiday. Can I eat the salad from the buffet and the pre cut fruit? I'll stick to bottled water but ice cubes and drinks they prepare might not be bottled?

Sarahandduckarehigh · 28/07/2018 07:32

Good luck to those with scans today, especially @toastfiend.

Ours is at 9.20. Bricking it!

Newbie2703 · 28/07/2018 07:36

@TheOneWithTheBaby I'm not too sure about the food I always seem to get ill from buffet food on holiday anyway :( but I have been warned many times not to have ice in my drink while abroad so I would avoid that I'm sure most places it is tap water.

BadBadBeans · 28/07/2018 08:44

@pushit hope you got some sleep!

I got my come-uppance for my son's nap. He woke up at 3am and hasn't been back to sleep since 😭 I felt quite sick in the night so did a lot of sitting at the side of the cot whole chewing crystallized ginger. We have got tons of friends arriving today for a party weekend - classic timing!

ladycarlotta · 28/07/2018 08:44

Sending happy scan vibes, @sarahandduckarehigh and @toastfiend.

@badbadbeans REALLY?!? What a bizarre ontogenic coincidence.

Welcome @gibbus, great to have you join us. I know it seems like a long wait but 2 weeks to scan will whizz by.

Angelmiracle · 28/07/2018 08:45

@Sarahandduckarehigh good luck with your scan!!
