Forgot to say @ladycarlotta what a lovely scan! Congrats. Does look just like a little jelly baby, which is funny because weren't you saying that jelly babies were fixing your nausea?!

Wineandchoccy · 27/07/2018 14:00

angel0071987 How annoying I hope you don’t have to wait to long for a scan

thefirsttimer · 27/07/2018 14:12

@ladycarlotta what a lovely scan picture of your little turtle!

@angel0071987 fingers crossed for you that you don't have to wait that long 🤞🏼

thefirsttimer · 27/07/2018 14:13

Ooh @BadBadBeans now I feel like orange ice lollys! Those del monte ones! Note to self - text DH to ask him to buy some on his way home from work Grin

pushit · 27/07/2018 14:27

@thefirsttimer I literally just finished a del monte lolly 😋

HidCat · 27/07/2018 14:31

@ladycarlotta that's a great scan and nice to have the consistency with the dates.

@pushit I hope you're feeling better and your lo isn't too upset.

@Bas27 hope all is well for you.

ladycarlotta · 27/07/2018 14:33

@BadBadBeans haha, the sonographer said it looked like a jelly baby - I nearly said, 'probably because I've eaten so many' but it felt a bit mad so I didn't.

@pushit yep, it's got some work to do if it wants to look humanoid by 12 weeks. DP, being a Man of Science, likes to say 'ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny' which is a needlessly abstruse was of saying that the development of a foetus mirrors our evolution, so it starts out like a little plankton thing and then gets tadpoley etc before becoming mammalian. As a theory it's been debunked, but the baby does look very aquatic.

@Bas27 waiting at the EPU is the worst, especially when you know you need a full bladder. I hope you're in now and it's all OK.

sherbertdibdab · 27/07/2018 14:42

Hello all, can I join?
I am 8 weeks-ish, dates a bit all over the place so waiting for a scan to narrow it down a bit! This will be my second I have 21 mo little girl. With my 1st I skipped from 12 to 19 weeks as I still had light periods so we can safely say dates are not my thing!

ladycarlotta · 27/07/2018 15:20

welcome @sherbertdibdab of course you can join! Congratulations! Hope your scan clears things up... 12 to 19 weeks must have been a bit of a shock!

Orville82 · 27/07/2018 15:47

Lovely scan @ladycarlotta!

@Baz27 I hope that everything goes ok for you to today.

I finished work at 38 weeks last time but then DS was 2 weeks late which drove me crazy. My job conditions and contract have changed since the ought so will be eeking it out as long as possible as once I announce pregnancy I can’t work. Will just have to see how long I can fit into my uniform for. At the rate I’m going, about another week! 😬

FairySweetness · 27/07/2018 15:52

Hi, can new people join this group? After 3 years TTC I am now 9 weeks following my first cycle of IVF. Had my viability scan at 6w+4 and saw a little heart beat and saw my midwife yesterday, so finally think I can believe my little event has stuck!

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 15:54

@ladycarlotta Love the scan pic you must feel better!

@Bas27 hope all is well and you're not in too much pain x

Welcome @sherbertdibdab Haha think we'd all be better off not knowing exactly sometimes 😊

Hello and welcome sherbetdibdab and FairySweetness

I’m so hot some people look glamorous in the heat I’m a hot sweaty mess and am soooo tired today Sad

toastfiend · 27/07/2018 16:26

I'm very worried this afternoon, 8 weeks today and had lots of discomfort and some cramping yesterday and today and have been bleeding a bit again. It's only very light at the moment but enough to worry me. Sad Spoken to the epu and I've got another scan on Monday. We saw a heartbeat at the last one (6+3) after cramping and bleeding, so I'm hoping it's just my body playing tricks on me again, but God it's just so worrying. Not looking forward to another weekend of not knowing what's going on and worrying. Sad

Wineandchoccy · 27/07/2018 16:32

toastfiend oh no hopefully it stops but could you get a private scan this weekend?

ladycarlotta · 27/07/2018 16:36

oh @toastfiend I hope it's all OK. Fingers crossed.

Welcome @FairySweetness! So exciting you've finally got your sticky bean!

FairySweetness · 27/07/2018 16:39

Thanks @Angelmiracle and @wineandchoccy

I didn't believe it at all until I saw the heart beat. I was doing daily tests! I've not had much sickness, just occasional nausea and crazy hunger.

A bit about me. I'm 34, this is an IVF baby as I've said. I'm an Intensive Care nurse and live in a Guildford, Surrey with my nearly paramedic husband and our first baby a springer spaniel called Bramble. I'm currently still petrified as I've been waiting for so long, but endo and PCOS made it very tough. I'm 9 weeks today and am due 1st March according to my IVF dates and viability scan.

TortoiseshellM · 27/07/2018 17:00

Hello from Scotland
I have my first midwife app on Tuesday. Feeling nauseous and tired most of the time and not as productive as I would like to be at work 😳 first pregnancy ...

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 17:12

Welcome @TortoiseshellM Congratulations! How far along are you?

I'm sure you're so worried @FairySweetness really wishing you a healthy pregnancy! I have PCOS It took me 5 years ttc no.2 (5+5 today) had just started investigations with gynae this year think the HSG helped! This board is full of great support and advice.

@ladycaroltta that is an awesome scan, I’m so pleased for you!

puravida31 · 27/07/2018 17:53

@toastfiend I hope everything is ok lovely?

peonylover22 · 27/07/2018 17:53

Welcome fairysweetness and tortoiseshellM
@ladycarlotta that is a lovely scan. @murphyrocks congratulations on the rat eviction!
I worked until 36+5 last time because of when Christmas fell - I couldn’t be bothered to go back afterwards and I was convinced DS was going to be early. He wasn’t and I was bored to tears by the time I went into labour on my due date. Thank goodness I didn’t go overdue. This time I plan to work until 38+5 or thereabouts.

MistakenHoliday · 27/07/2018 17:56

@toastfiend will be keeping everything crossed for you and the bean over the weekend.

@ladycarlotta love the jelly baby!

@FairySweetness welcome to the group and congratulations!
