Ker-azy dreams! First that I had FOUR babies (actually DP gave birth to two of them?!) and was freaking out trying to acquire cellular blankets for them all. Then that I had one baby, but it had a really tiny head.

pushit · 09/08/2018 09:45

I've been wearing the bands almost constantly since nausea started. I think they help but not sure!!!

BadBadBeans · 09/08/2018 09:51

@ladycarlotta four?! Oh dear lord! I woke up suddenly at 4am with a crystal-clear realisation that I had forgotten to pay DS's nursery fees this month. NO idea why I was thinking about that while I was asleep, but it was bloody hard to get back to sleep again afterwards!

@pushit I wear them on and off (mostly on) and I'm not sure if they help either. My philosophy is that I may as well wear them - they're not doing any harm!

thefirsttimer · 09/08/2018 09:53

I too have been wearing the seabands constantly! Not sure if they help at all, but I haven't wanted to take them off to find out!

ladycarlotta · 09/08/2018 10:10

@BadBadBeans oh, they were very cute and well-behaved, they just all went to sleep in a big cot (this is totally the reality of quads). My main stress was that I didn't have enough clothes for them all.

With the sea bands, I'm not sure they helped me at all. Although I did have a pretty good day AFTER I took them off. I might give them another go.

ALRM · 09/08/2018 10:27

Hi guys, sorry I've been off the radar a bit. Super busy with work and with nausea/tiredness it was all I could do to make it through the day. My nausea is there but not horrendous but my bloating is ridiculous! Genuinely considering maternity clothes already.
In other news I had an 8 week scan (follow up to my obligatory 6 week scan because of previous ectopic) and the sonographer was very happy with it. Now don't need to go back till 12 weeks. Really strong heartbeat and wriggling around. Pic attached. Seems like this one may actually stick and I am starting to believe it may be fourth time lucky!

ALRM ooh how exciting! Congratulations! This seems to be fourth time lucky for me, so let's hope this is the one for both of us.

ALRM · 09/08/2018 11:45

Fingers crossed @ladycarlotta !

wordsmithereens · 09/08/2018 13:11

Congrats on the positive scan experience @ALRM, really hope that does mean it's sticky one this time for you.

Wineandchoccy · 09/08/2018 13:26

I’m so tired today I’m working from home and just having a lie down I can’t keep my eyes open Blush

Wineandchoccy · 09/08/2018 13:26

ALRM lovely scan photo

ALRM · 09/08/2018 14:08

@wineandchoccy a lie down sounds AMAZING right now. I am about to go into a meeting 😖

BadBadBeans · 09/08/2018 14:27

@ladycarlotta oh yeah, I'm sure quantity of clothing would be your top concern in a quad parenting situation Grin

@ALRM lovely scan! Whoop whoop!

@Wineandchoccy I'm actually feeling better today than I have done in what feels like FOREVER (actually: two weeks). However, on other days in the last two weeks when I should have been getting on with freelance work, I have crawled under a duvet and napped for Britain. Do it if you need to. You can always catch up again this evening. (Unless you have to be available on phone/email during certain hours?)

I just started eating a chocolate ice lolly thing and got halfway through and just wasn't enjoying it. I wrapped it up and put it back in the freezer, because I am horribly frugal and I figured I might want it 'later'. In reality, that half-eaten ice cream is going to be sitting there until the next time I defrost the freezer, isn't it?

I've been feeling horribly blobby over the last few days, but I think it is genuinely just bloat that builds up during the day because when I look in the mirror in the morning I look normal. My boobs, however, have definitely inflated all of a sudden. Counting the days until my private scan now... only 19 to go!

Jenlou1992 · 09/08/2018 14:55

Not been on for a few day . Just caught up on everything. Really upsets me to see some going through miscarriages and my thoughts are with anyone experiencing that. I am 9weeks today and honestly the last couple of days my nausea has gone away. I still don't have an appetite but I don't feel sick like I have been doing for the past 4 weeks . They say at 9 weeks your hormones decrease because the placenta takes over so I'm hoping this is a more permanent thing.

Had my booking in appt. And they give me my scan date for the 6th September. One day after my birthday . Fro. LMP it makes me 13 weeks.

For anyone that's had kids before how accurate is the dating scan ? I know exact dates I had intercourse so I am worried if baby will be measuring behind

TeaRexx · 09/08/2018 15:09

@Wineandchoccy same here exhausted. I’ve had to take the day off because of nausea and high temperature, haven’t moved from the sofa Sad My beautiful doggies are keeping me company Smile

Murphyrocks · 09/08/2018 15:14

@Jenlou1992 they give you your due date at the scan based on how big baby is measuring then, irrespective of how far along you actually are. They moved my due back 2 days with ds despite knowing exact dates as he was measuring slightly ahead, quite common to have a few days either way but if they're not worried try not to be either!

ladycarlotta · 09/08/2018 15:37

@jenlou92 I think baby measuring small according to your dates is still OK. The sperm can lurk about for days before it meets an egg, so if you ovulate late it doesn't matter if you didn't dtd that recently. I say this measuring a few days behind (consistently, at least) and totally fretting about it. I don't even know when I ovulated.

peonylover22 · 09/08/2018 15:38

So I just had my pre-panorama test scan and I am now measuring 4 days ahead (10+1 not 9+4) of both my dates based on LMP and dates based on early scan at 7+1
Confused! Can babies grow faster / bigger at this point? (My husband and I are both tall and our son is a beast) Has anyone had any experience of this?
I have my booking in appointment tomorrow morning so will use revised dates to push for timely 12 week scan

thefirsttimer · 09/08/2018 16:41

@peonylover22 I'm in a similar situation! Had a private scan yesterday at what should have been 10+5, baby measured 11+4 instead so a whopping 6 days ahead! We know our dates exactly so it looks like baby is just having a growth spurt Shock

ladycarlotta · 09/08/2018 17:09

@peonylover22 my sonographer said 5 days either way is the usual margin of error, and that they don't always grow evenly every day, but have a big surge every now and then. So it might be yours has just had its growth spurt for the week.

ladycarlotta · 09/08/2018 17:10

(also they say it's not reliable until 12 week scan anyway so I'd expect it to possibly change again)

HidCat · 09/08/2018 18:16

@ALRM I'm so pleased for you.

@Jenlou1992 the scan is fairly accurate but not unusual to be a few days out either way. Bear in mind though even due dates have a 2 week leniency!

Angelmiracle · 09/08/2018 18:48

Great news @ALRM scan looks great!

I'm know exactly when I ovulated so I'm sure they date me 6 days behind but DS was conceived really early and I was sure I'd be moved back but he measured spot on at dating scan and was a week overdue. He was 53cm at birth so I feel like that all plays a part.

So I was up late last night as I waited at mum's on DSis coming from the airport. I was not in the form for a 2 hour journey there and back. I was so nauseous and tired. She came to my house this morning to see DS and I put a t-shirt on him "Being Promoted to Big Brother" She started screaming she couldn't believe it 😂 She's due her 1st in Oct so it will be lovely now I can talk to her openly. She's sad she'll not be here to have her baby or to see ours she's trying to convince her fiance to move home 😄
