I’m having a lazy afternoon at the beach, DH and dd have built sandcastles, plated football and chased around and I have done nothing Smile

Murphyrocks · 05/08/2018 16:01

@pushit I still carry round ds sometimes and he's 18kg, have to be realistic and yes minimise where necessary but you can't not pick up your toddler at all!

@orangekitkat I'm 10 weeks tomorrow too! Went to see Mamma Mia 2 last week and really liked it, didn't even cry although I'm not much of crier.

Bluebelltulip · 05/08/2018 19:50

My DD would be very unimpressed if I stopped carrying her, I am doing it for shorter periods though.

I feel so tired today I had to sit down at the top of the stairs.

ladycarlotta · 05/08/2018 21:29

@Velcro88 there was some back and forth but yes! Offer accepted! Just gotta sort out all the other bumf and it's ours! Cross your fingers...

@pushit I'm sure it's OK to do a bit of carrying and cuddling. My mum refused to let me help carry a cupboard today (not huge, and not heavy between two people) - she's convinced heavy lifting will hurt the baby. Obviously I'm cautious, but if you are doing stuff that's within your normal range of movements and which isn't really straining you, I don't believe it will cause any serious problem.

Welcome and congratulations @PinUpPixie. First timer here too, there are quite a few of us in this thread.

ladycarlotta · 05/08/2018 21:31

I told my parents today; they are divorced, so separately. My dad was a bit triumphant as he'd just heard that my cousin's wife is also pregnant, but she is earlier on than me so he will get to be a granddad before his brother. Honestly, that seemed to be the focus of much of his excitement. Ha.

TeaRexx · 05/08/2018 21:41

Thanks @ladycarlotta Smile (I changed my username)
Yes been following great to know others are here to chat to / support. It’s all very new! Don’t know what to expect and still quite can’t believe it’s all real at the moment.

TheWanderlust · 05/08/2018 21:41

We told my dad today as he's going away for work tomorrow until October. Went to tell my mum straight after to discover she was out 🤦🏼‍♀️ have arranged to pop in for a "cuppa" tomorrow evening so that we can tell her too.... poor dad has been sworn to secrecy!!

Marmite2018 · 05/08/2018 22:44

I've had to move into the living room to sleep tonight. The upstairs in our house is like an oven and it's making my nausea SO much worse! Sleeping on an air bed with the back door open hoping no one tries to break in or they'll get the shock of their lives 😂!

pushit · 06/08/2018 00:50

@TeaRexx what was your username before? Why have you changed it? (Just being nosey!)

TeaRexx · 06/08/2018 05:42

@pushit it was PinUpPixie.... and no reason in particular just did haha x

My appetite is going down the food aversion route. I only want to eat certain things and the thought of some other foods makes me feel nauseous. I normally love food :(

wordsmithereens · 06/08/2018 06:43

Love the new name @TeaRexx, welcome!

Woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. :( The sickness has really messed up my sleep cycle, I guess I'm in training for sleepless nights a bit early?

Yay! Huge congrats @ladycarlotta! That's so exciting. Fab. Hope it all goes through smoothly.

sherbertdibdab · 06/08/2018 08:12

Eurgh first actual sick this morning after weeks of nausea. Actual feel much better for it! I had lots last time round until about 20 weeks so was wondering when it would kick in properly. Hopefully won't last as long!

puravida31 · 06/08/2018 10:35

Congratulations @ladycarlotta! I hope it all goes smoothly 🤞

Pearcrumble · 06/08/2018 12:19

Hi March-ers, I'd like to join you after reading along (lurking) for a few weeks!

I am 8+2 and due 16 March. Had an early miscarriage at 5/6 weeks in May so I've been hesitant to get excited, but I had a scan yesterday and saw a heartbeat so i feel a bit more confident now.

I've had fairly constant nausea for three weeks, now mostly assuaged by salt and vinegar crisps, crackers and lucozade. Vomiting every couple of days by now and heaving round the corner at work when no one's looking. Living the cliches!

I find it a bit hard to know whether I'm being a wimpy diva about the sickness, or it does justify time off work and whining. How is everyone's sickness? I'm the first of my friends to try for a baby so don't have much of a clue what's normal!

Hope you're all doing okay today, and congratulations!

Newbie2703 · 06/08/2018 12:47

@pearcrumble congratulations. I feel sooooo sick been in work all week and weekend struggling and today I felt bad and caved. Rang in sick I'm just so exhausted and sick. Hopeful just a day or 2 will make me feel refreshed !

Wineandchoccy · 06/08/2018 13:03

Pearcrumble congratulations. It’s so hard the sickness is horrible isn’t it Sad
I’m currently sat eating very dry biscuits outside my next appointment for work there is a fish and chip shop opposite the smell is making me heave Envy

Murphyrocks · 06/08/2018 13:43

Welcome @Pearcrumble and congratulations! Sorry to hear about your mc but great about the early scan, so reassuring isn't it? The nausea is awful, I was signed off work with HG and fainting at 6 weeks, vomiting several times and a day and struggling to keep anything down or even get off the couch, but now at 10 I'm feeling a lot better so hope it'll be similar for you too!

Wineandchoccy · 06/08/2018 13:49

I’m mad but just had another early scan Blush I have been unwell since last week and got myself in a bit of a tizz about it so have been worrying but baby is all ok Smile Measuring correct and heartbeat 176 bpm.
Looks like a baby now amazing how much it has changed since 2 weeks ago.

Newbie2703 · 06/08/2018 13:52

That's a brilliant scan @wineandchoccy how many weeks are you now ?

wordsmithereens · 06/08/2018 13:57

Oh my God @wineandchoccy that is an great scan! So very clearly a baby, it's amazing how quickly they grow. Hope it's reassured you. :)

The sickness is the worst - I didn't imagine it would make me so completely nonfunctional, but hey ho. At least we know there's a definite endpoint in sight one way or the other!

Pearcrumble · 06/08/2018 14:01

@newbie2703 sorry you're feeling rubbish too, I hope you're able to have a good rest today and feel a bit restored. I think having a proper rest makes the next few days better so it's probably more productive in the long run!

@wineandchoccy it is, at the same time I feel bad for being negative when I'm so happy to be pregnant again, but it's normal to feel both at once I think. Damn these uncontrollable street odours! Amazing scan though, those little limbs, wow.

@murphyrocks thanks, yes the reassurance was amazing, I cried which set me off coughing so poor sonographer had to find and refind the peanut as I jerked my tummy around haha. Your sickness sounds really difficult so pleased it has eased off and gives me hope too!

Wineandchoccy · 06/08/2018 14:21

Newbie2703 I’m 10 + 3

Wineandchoccy · 06/08/2018 14:23

Pearcrumble no moan away, this is my 3rd pregnancy 1st was a mmc, I have a dd who is 3 both those pregnancies were brilliant zero symptoms this time I have felt dreadful.

Murphyrocks · 06/08/2018 14:40

@Pearcrumble totally, after 5-6 weeks of surviving on white toast, pop tarts and pasta this was my lunch today, homemade tzatziki with crudités and wholemeal pitta, tasted amazing! Still getting some nausea and light-headedness but so much more manageable now.

@Wineandchoccy OMG that scan is amazing! Proper little person! Can't wait for my dating scan in a couple of weeks, remember it being so clear.
