Hope you get some answers soon @coastergirl and that it's good news for you. Sounds like you are approaching it in a really pragmatic way. In the least patronising way possible, I really admire you for it.

I'm about 9 + 2 today. No scan date through yet but have had my booking-in appointment. Nausea has been the worst so far for me this week. Just randomly feel like I'm about to throw up and it's definitely always lurking in the background. I now have a very glamorous stock of dog poo bags in my car, handbag, jacket pockets, purse etc. in case I get caught out. How lovely. Confused I do think I've been very lucky so far though, having heard how poorly some of you have been.

Feeling really wiped out today. Will definitely be investing in a pregnancy pillow soon!

Murphyrocks · 04/08/2018 19:11

@Marmite2018 I'm kinda the same with the sickness, it was constant and awful 6-8 weeks but now at close to 10 it's still bad some days but does come and go 2lwhich is such a relief! It was pretty much gone by 11 weeks last time so fx it will be similar.

@BadBadBeans I'm getting exactly the same with my DS, he's such a happy and loving boy but just the last week or so he's taken to hitting and kicking when he doesn't get his own way, not angrily but more attention seeking, made my cry the other day too as he caught me with my ring and bruised near my eye and he was so upset. Wonder if it's somehow related to the pregnancy? He knows there's a baby in Mummy's tummy but not sure he's really taken it in yet.

hamandpease · 04/08/2018 19:20

@SquirtlesMumAgain I just had a long sleep too, find I have to at the weekend to recharge for the week.

It I find it makes me feel really sick when I wake upEnvy

HidCat · 04/08/2018 20:13

@coastergirl I'm glad you're feeling ok. Try to think positive, I'm keeping everything crossed for Monday.

PinUpPixie · 04/08/2018 20:26

Hi all... just found this thread, due in March and I’ll be a first time Mumma! Great to find somewhere to chat to others for support etc. A brand new experience for me. X

Marmite2018 · 04/08/2018 21:04

Oh @Murphyrocks that would be amazing if it did go. Every day I wake up feeling anxious about how I'm going to feel. Fortunately I'm on school holidays so I literally just lie on the sofa all day grazing!

Welcome @PinUpPixie! Congratulations! I'm a first timer too! When are you due?

Keeping fingers crossed for you @coastergirl

Jenlou1992 · 04/08/2018 22:56

Here for a rant . Feeling fed up. This bloating tiredness and lethargy is really getting me down .I have literally not moved again all day and it's making my mood low . I can't eat properly I feel shocking 90% of my waking day. Anyone throw any advice at me 😔😔😔😔😔

wordsmithereens · 05/08/2018 02:43

@Jenlou1992 Little advice but much sympathy. I still feel shocking 90% of the day, and the only thing I can recommend is to accept it, at least that way you just feel shocking without added emotional downness on top. Oh and getting DH to help as much as possible.

@murphyrocks I really hope my sickness will follow your pattern as well! Thanks for throwing some hope out there.

I've only got observations from close friends, but their DD definitely started acting out a bit more when they had their second. They're just so used to getting all of the attention, and really quite sensitive to any shift in that, but obviously can't fully contextualise the new baby yet. She loves her sibling to pieces now though!

TeaRexx · 05/08/2018 06:36

Thanks :) On 29th March. Just working out how to post / reply so hope it works!

pushit · 05/08/2018 08:38

@Jenlou1992 I feel totally low and fed up too. Just so bored of feeling ill all the time. The heat is making it so much worse, I'm not sofa bound all the time but don't really enjoy anything because I feel so yucky.

I guess just remember that this will pass. It's a good sign for the babies health and 2nd trimester should be much better.

Randomly I had a tiny surge of feeling horney last night and having adult cuddles definitely took away some nausea and made me feel a bit better. (Not just a big sicky sack of burpy bloat for a bit!)

TheOneWithTheBaby · 05/08/2018 10:06

Thank you to whoever posted the wowcher pillow. I will totally get that, so much cheaper than the genii one!

I went swimming yesterday and it felt amazing to move a bit more. My DH did say it looks like I am getting a belly/changing shape already though. Can that be right? I do feel I look massive but surely that can only be bloating/water retention?

Can i ask for some help with my dates please? So I had my last period on 14.06. That's the first day. Normally my cycles are around 32 days long. I know my ovulation was 1.7. Some apps seem to put me on 6+6 today but others say I am 7+4. I know it's only five days difference but it's just a bit confusing somehow.

orangekitkat13 · 05/08/2018 10:10

@TheOneWithTheBaby I would go by the nhs website if I were you as that is probably what your midwife will use. All our dates are rough at the moment though. When you get to your 12 week scan they will give you your official due date based on the baby's measurements.

Had a great night out with a friend seeing Mama Mia 2 last night(really good film!) I'm knackered now though as didn't get to bed till midnight!

I've been feeling pretty bad with tiredness and nausea this week. Hope it passes soon, 10weeks tomorrow!

Marmite2018 · 05/08/2018 10:19

I definitely spoke too soon. Back to feeling awful today. @Jenlou1992 I can only say that I feel your pain and that I hope things improve for you soon x

TheOneWithTheBaby · 05/08/2018 10:23

@orangekitkat13, thank you. NHS just says 'six weeks'. I am looking forward to see what they say at the scan!

Did you cry at the movie? I'm going with a work colleague next week who I def don't want to tell about the pregnancy yet. But I heard some plot bits that I fear might send hormonal me over the edge!

angel0071987 · 05/08/2018 10:44

My DS pounced on my tummy full force this morning. 😖 now I'm worrying that he could have caused some damage to the bean? Normally he's quite good at avoiding it and knows not to and I can normally field him off but I was half asleep when hubbie bought him into bed and missed it.
Hoping it's well protected and I'm worrying about nothing...

orangekitkat13 · 05/08/2018 10:47

@TheOneWithTheBaby I did cry towards the end but don't think it'll give you away. Plenty of people were sniffling!

TeaRexx · 05/08/2018 12:16

@Marmite2018 thanks Smile I did reply earlier but forgot to mention I changed my name and also only just worked out how to tag people Grin
Due 29th March! X

HidCat · 05/08/2018 13:12

@angel0071987 I wouldn't worry too much. Early on bean is tucked into your pelvis so hopefully out of harms way.

thefirsttimer · 05/08/2018 13:17

I'm struggling to keep up with the thread atm, it's moving so fast! Welcome to all of our newbies though Smile.

10+2 here and still in the throes of sickness. I also slept in until 11am today, that's unheard of since my lazy teenage years!

Velcro88 · 05/08/2018 13:23

10 weeks today! Feels like a milestone. Reached the end of my tether at the end of last week and reacted by using up basically all my remaining leave to have next week off work. I'm just exhausted and need to be able to give myself guilt-free permission to be less than 100%! Sounds like you guys are feeling similar; the nausea and fatigue is getting extremely old now!

2 weeks 'til I meet the bean: hopefully that will make it all feel worthwhile!

@Angelmiracle ouch! Hope you're not feeling too worried. I'm sure your bean will be fine and happy snuggled up safe in there.

Good luck to those managing - or planning to manage - house moves. I'm racing ahead a bit here but if this pg pans out and we're lucky enough for a second (although at the moment I can't understand why anyone would do this twice!) we'll be in that boat next time. @ladycarlotta fingers crossed re the house offer, did you hear back?

Velcro88 · 05/08/2018 13:24

Oops @angel0071987 not @Angelmiracle sorry!!

pushit · 05/08/2018 14:06

@angel0071987 my daughter constantly jabs and elbows my tummy - jumps on it, rolls on it, pushes her head in it. I think it's all fine. It should be pretty well protected. Although later on I might start having a gentle rule only with mummy's tummy.

pushit · 05/08/2018 14:08

Does anyone else still have to carry a very heavy toddler around? My hubby said I should stop, but she still needs the security of mummy cuddles a lot if we go somewhere new etc

HidCat · 05/08/2018 15:29

@pushit I occasionally pick up my 5yr old for cuddles. As long as it's not straining you it should be ok but be careful.

Wineandchoccy · 05/08/2018 15:37

pushit I carry my 3 year old when she gets tired
