@luckyleeds Welcome and congratulations!! Are you having symptoms at the minute?

I've got a scan today, 6+1. I haven't told my mum yet because she's such a worrier and my grandad is really sick, so didn't want to add to that. Hopefully all will be ok and I can tell her.

Wineandchoccy · 04/08/2018 08:51

I ordered a pregnancy pillow via wow her it was £18. It arrived yesterday and I had the best nights sleep ever last night.

Good luck coastergirl hope everything goes ok

orangekitkat13 · 04/08/2018 09:02

@coastergirl good luck!

Wineandchoccy · 04/08/2018 09:09

Welcome luckyleeds When is your due date?

TheWanderlust · 04/08/2018 09:13

@Wineandchoccy so you get to choose the colour of the pillowcase?

I feel like one of these could be quite handy right now!

Wineandchoccy · 04/08/2018 09:18

TheWanderlust yes and no they only had lemon or white in stock when I ordered the other colours were out of stock.
The pillow case was a faff to put on I did think it will be fun changing it when 8 months pregnant Grin

luckyleeds · 04/08/2018 10:02

@angel miracle no not yet! I've been trying to remember when I started them last time but it's all a bit of a blur. Very tired in the afternoon but that's probably down to running round after dd than this little one! How are you feeling?
@wineandchoccy 31st March according to nhs calculator. Dd was born 17 mins before her due date last time so this one might be even more punctual!

Does anyone else completely forget they're pregnant at the moment and have to stop themselves doing something? Took dd on the flume at the swimming baths and afterwards thought whether I should have (it was very tame so I'm sure everything is fine!)

Wineandchoccy · 04/08/2018 10:26

Wow that is very punctual luckyleeds

Angelmiracle · 04/08/2018 10:49

@luckyleeds my boobs are massive sometimes very sore. Smell aversions much stronger yesterday. Prefer beige food slight nausea but not as strong as with DS. He is 5 and you're right it's hard trying to remember everything! Tiredness really kicks in at the evening!

Maybe this one will be even earlier for you! I hope this one is nearer the time I was 7 days over with DS and he was 9lb9🙈😄

@coastergirl good luck with your scan I already told my mum and maybe I should have waited a bit she's fretting! Sorry that your grandad isn't well x

Welcome @luckyleeds! I’m with you on forgetting I’m pregnant. I think it’s very different when you’re already running around after one as the pregnancy definitely comes second (my DS is 3). It doesn’t help that’s that I’m virtually symptomless. I ate Parma ham the other day without thinking and keep lifting and lugging heavy items around. Must be more careful!

orangekitkat13 · 04/08/2018 11:06

My scan date just came through, 21st Aug, I'll be 12+1. Just over two weeks to wait, I'm so excited and nervous!! Wish it was sooner!

coastergirl · 04/08/2018 12:24

Scan wasn't great. They could see a very tiny sac measuring 3mm which puts me about two weeks behind. I wouldn't think anything of it because I conceived really late in my cycle with my little boy, but the fact I've had positive tests for almost two weeks doesn't add up. Been referred straight to hospital but going to ring and see if I can go Monday instead because I've got my little boy with me and he's having a rough day.

puravida31 · 04/08/2018 13:23

@orangekitkat13 hurray! That is definetly within sight now! I’m still waiting on my date (I’m 10 weeks tomorrow), starting to think I’d of have had the baby by the time they give me a scan at this rate!

@coastergirl I’m sorry you’re going through this worry. how many weeks did you think you were and how many weeks are you measuring? I hope it works out ok and you have supportive people around you over the weekend. We’ll be keeping everything crossed for you on Monday

Murphyrocks · 04/08/2018 13:25

@coastergirl so sorry to hear that, fx for you that all is OK and the dates are just a bit off. I was measuring almost a week behind at my first scan but at the next one 2 weeks later I was actually a few days ahead so really hope you're experiencing something similar.

Welcome @luckyleeds and congrats! Another one for the Yorkshire crew, think there's 6 or 7 of us now! I'm in Leeds also and have a ds who just turned 2 so quite similar stats wise!

coastergirl · 04/08/2018 14:00

I'm ok ladies. I'm pretty pragmatic about it all to be honest. Some pregnancies just aren't viable and if that's the case then I'll be ok. I can see how it would be hard to feel that way if you've been planning and trying for ages. But that's not my situation. My dates say 6+1 but I'm measuring 4.

wordsmithereens · 04/08/2018 14:43

Fingers crossed @coastergirl. And welcome to all the new people!

This (week 9) seems to be my sickest week yet, I'm hoping this is the peak. Cyclizine helps but it knocks me out completely. No clue how you with existing DC do this - hats off!

My GP keeps asserting it'll be a girl, it's really funny. Think she might be more invested in the sex than myself at this stage, haha.

Wineandchoccy · 04/08/2018 14:43

coastergirl You sounds very positive but hopefully it’s just you ovulated late so making your dates a bit off, I have everything crossed for you

Fingers crossed @badbadbeans. Hope 10 weeks is here before you know it. And I'm sure you're doing the best you can with DS - sounds like a tough morning, hope you can be kind to yourself.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 04/08/2018 16:58

Have just slept for about 4 hours! It's the only time I don't feel sick and having DS around isn't helpful. I just can't do anything helpful with him. Took til 16 weeks last time for the sickness to go but it definitely wasn't this bad, I really hope it stops sooner this time.

Thankfully DH is around at the weekend and evenings which makes a huge difference.

Marmite2018 · 04/08/2018 17:32

I can't remember who it was that suggested swimming? I've just got back and it was so lovely. I feel like that's the first time my body has felt cool since I found out I was pregnant. It has helped the nausea too!

Has anyone else found their symptoms vary day to day? 2 days ago I couldn't get out of bed and was being sick all day, today I'm feeling a bit brighter, I've not been sick but the nausea is still there in the background. Fingers crossed it's on it's way out? 9 weeks today, maybe a bit soon? I'll probably eat my words tomorrow.

I am so in awe of you ladies who are doing this with little ones already. I can only look out for myself at the moment!!!!

Nightmanagerfan · 04/08/2018 17:35

Sorry to hear that @coastergirl you sound pragmatic and that will help I think - all the best and hope it’s good news soon.

@squirtlesmumagain four hours is amazing - you must need the sleep. I’ve been napping but only 30 mins or so, I’m very impressed.

Definitely going to invest in a pregnancy pillow at some point - I’m already feeling like I could do with a little pillow under my side. My abdomen looks completely normal when I wake up, but by the time I got to bed I look four months’ pregnant - the bloating is horrendous. Not sure I’ll be able to hide it at work for long, though only five weeks until the 12 week scan so not too long to wait.

Hope you’re all keeping cool in this horrendous heat. Our living room is 28c this afternoon and there’s hardly any breeze. Awful!
