I also meant to add, if anyone wants to join the Facebook group just drop me a PM on here with your fb user name and a description of your fb profile pic. I'll then find you on facebook and friend request you, add you to the group and remove you as a friend so it's all surreptitious! It's a totally secret group.

BadBadBeans · 30/07/2018 21:05

@mostimproved I'm so sorry to hear that. Wishing you all the best x

@SquirtlesMumAgain that is just wonderful - hope you can relax for a bit now!

@HidCat it predicts a girl for me but I think it did with DS too so...

@MrsEsner that is fascinating about the vegan diet improving pcos. Have there been any studies done on that or is it generally anecdotal evidence? Would love to pass the information on to friends of mine who have it.

I can't remember who asked about the Harmony - sorry! - I'm only 33 but I'm having it because I am a worrier and I wasn't reassured by the odds the NHS gave me last time. Would also rather have it done early just in case.

Still Queasy McQueaseface over here. Had to have a little lie down and a nap at 6pm while my husband, god bless him, bathed our toddler. I'm going to get nothing done in the evenings for the next few weeks, am I? Going to have to stock up on good books I think.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 30/07/2018 21:12

Just looked up the Chinese gender predictor - was right last time, predicting a girl this time. We will see... 50/50 chance of being right at least!

angel0071987 · 30/07/2018 21:21

@HidCat Chinese calendar things says a girl. But it depends on which one I look at as to wether it was correct for last one 😂
Would love a girl so 🤞 but happy with a healthy happy baby regardless.

ladycarlotta · 30/07/2018 21:32

@puravida31 yes thank you, much better. Just the usual tiredness now. I took to my bed for a few hours though...

@hidcat love it! It predicts a girl for me, so let's see...

@BadBadBeans @MrsEsner I meant to say it's interesting about the vegan thing. I'm wondering if it's not strictly because of the veganism per se, but because a good vegan diet might sidestep quite a few sources of saturated fat or high sugar (eg lots of sweets and puddings are off the menu my default, and no meat), and if you're eating healthily it can be pretty low-GI in terms of being lots of veggies, pulses, good fats.

This is total PCOS 101, I know, but I found that reducing carbs and sugar and upping protein really helped me. I also found that a myo-inositol supplement seemed to make the calories in/calories out 'maths' actually work out for once in terms of weight loss. I was pretty skinny until I was about 27 and since then it seems to take nothing for me to gain weight and a crazy amount of work to lose even a few pounds. Inositol was one thing that seemed to help. Also gaining muscle, which I think helps metabolism? I hope your friend figures something out, it took loads of lone research for me, and it's so much a case of what works for your individual body and lifestyle.

Angelmiracle · 30/07/2018 22:34

@HidCat It has predicted a girl for me which my instincts are telling me. So did the wedding ring theory 🤣 All 3 got it right for DS 😀

@mostimproved So sorry for your loss. Wishing you all the best. Xxx

@SquirtlesMumAgain That is brilliant news! Let's hope the stickiness continues...

Definitely no glow here either, just another uptick in severe nausea. Got so excited that I almost had proper meals on the weekend. There seems to be a pattern of it getting better by end of the week, then vastly worse on the beginning of a new week. Anyone felt similarly?

Goatlady5812 · 31/07/2018 04:33

@mostimproved so sorry to hear this. Take good care of yourself x

ladycarlotta · 31/07/2018 05:34

I've been awake since 4am Sad why why why.
I think maybe it's the nausea keeping me awake. I've taken myself to the sofa for a bit but really need to go back to sleep!

Newbie2703 · 31/07/2018 06:23

Nausea has hit this morning ! 6 +1 today.

Shampooeeee · 31/07/2018 06:27

So frustrating ladycarlotta I hope you manage to sneak in a nap at some point.
I’ve got my scan this morning. It seems to have taken forever to come around but now I’m bricking it.

RachaelT · 31/07/2018 06:35

And I thought I was bad being awake since 5.15am @ladycarlotta just can't get comfy/ache all over and had a dreadful taste in my mouth

Rockmum30 · 31/07/2018 07:07

@RachaelT I too have been awake since 5.30 so annoying I'm going to be really tired later I usually sleep so well too!

angel0071987 · 31/07/2018 07:13

Anyone else seem to have developed an insatiable thirst. Drink a huge pint glass of water and immediately feel still thirsty. If I drink too much I get sick. But not enough and I feel as if I'm in the dessert.

TheWanderlust · 31/07/2018 07:20

Yes @angel0071987 it's really horrible feeling like you just can't quench your thirst. I've taken to drinking a large glass of orange juice first and then the pint of water which seems to help slightly. But I'm still very thirsty.

frenchgal · 31/07/2018 07:30

I am so sorry @mostimproved. Thinking of you xxx

RachaelT · 31/07/2018 08:48

I had that @angel0071987 but it seems to have subsided in the last couple of weeks. Still drinking more than normal but not the 3.5L I did at peak!

BadBadBeans · 31/07/2018 09:08

I'm currently sitting outside the gym, steeling myself to go in. Feeling fairly ropey! I had to get DH to change a stinky nappy this morning - I just couldn't go near it, which is a first for me!

@ladycarlotta yes that makes a lot of sense about the vegan diet.

Ugh would type more but looking at a tiny screen is making me ill...

ladycarlotta · 31/07/2018 09:27

ooh @shampooeeee good luck for the scan! Hope it's a nice clear one.

@RachaelT solidarity for the early risers! I thought I'd put that behind me, but last night was rubbish. I did end up managing to go back to sleep for an hour or so, but I feel really ropey today, sicker than usual. FX we do better tonight.

@angel0071987 I also get mega thirsty, I was starting to worry it was gestational diabetes or something! As you do. Cold stuff helps, and I've found that orange juice with fizzy water takes the edge off.

Shampooeeee · 31/07/2018 09:43

Thanks! I didn’t get a great photo but I saw the heartbeat and saw the umbilical cord pulsating and baby was measuring exactly 9+4. I’m so relieved! Only just over 3 weeks to wait until my scan at the hospital.
angel I have the same problem. I can’t ever seem to drink enough. If I drink a lot in one go then I feel sick. My doc offered me anti-emetics but I think I’m managing the nausea ok at the moment.

ladycarlotta · 31/07/2018 09:53

@Shampooeeee that's absolutely fantastic. Pictures are not the main thing, it's just so amazing to see the baby doing well. Really glad yours is! Also means risk of MC is almost nil now. I'm so pleased for you.

Shampooeeee · 31/07/2018 10:11

Thanks @ladycarlotta, I previously had an MMC after seeing a heartbeat at 10 weeks so I’ve been reassuring myself by thinking how unlikely it would be to be in that unlucky 1% more than once.

sherbertdibdab · 31/07/2018 10:14

Just waiting for my booking in appt now now, trying to remember what they asked/did last time. It was only two years ago but can't remember it at all!
@angel0071987 I am mega thirsty too, normally I only drink a couple of cups of tea a day but now it's gallons of water! Wish it made me feel less sick, I always feel like it will and am then disappointed!

ladycarlotta · 31/07/2018 10:36

I'm so sorry, @Shampooeeee, what a horrible thing to go through. Fingers crossed that bean hangs tight.
