@SquirtlesMumAgain keeping everything crossed for you.

thefirsttimer · 30/07/2018 11:00

@ladycarlotta I'm 9+3 today and Google seems to suggest baby is measuring a couple of days ahead of that, but the sonographer didn't adjust my dates at all. Maybe she thinks it's not worth doing until the 12 week scan, as I think that's the official dating scan isn't it? I've read the same about 1mm a day, it really is no surprise how tiring this all is! Not to mention how much baby was moving around in there yesterday, she/he is definitely stealing all my energy for that Grin

Velcro88 · 30/07/2018 11:10

@mostimproved really sorry to hear your news. Hope you're feeling well supported. Sending love and wishing you all the very best.

@SquirtlesMumAgain fingers crossed for your scan today

MoosterTheMoose · 30/07/2018 11:11

I had a weekend off and it's taken me an age to catch up with you all!
squirtles I have everything crossed fro you - good luck. And mostimproved, so sorry to hear this, hope you're ok.

ladycarlotta and thefirsttimer I think we're very close in due dates? I'm 9+1 today? I had an early scan and they don't seem to trust it for measurements - said they'll keep using my LMP dates until the 12 week scan (even though they're a fortnight out - PCOS and very long cycles). Suggests that it's more/only reliable at 12 weeks?

My sickness is horrible today, and I spend most of the weekend asleep or wanting to be. I'm finding it so hard to get work done and am beginning to get a bit worried about it...

MoosterTheMoose · 30/07/2018 11:13

Those of you who have had/are going to have harmony/panorama tests, is it because you're older? I'm in two minds and wondering if I'm being a bit over-anxious. I'll be 38 at term, so my risk will probably come back quite high from the 12 week tests, but wonder if I should wait and see before shelling out £400? My 12 week scan will actually be at 11 weeks so the panorama results and the 12 week results would actually come back around the same time if I did panorama this week. Any thoughts?

coastergirl · 30/07/2018 11:24

Ugh. I'm on holiday for a few days in London and have a UTI. Went to a walk in centre but they aren't allowed to treat me because I'm pregnant so been sent to UCL. Joy!

So sorry to those with bad news.

Nightmanagerfan · 30/07/2018 11:25

@mostimproved I’m so so sorry. I hope you are ok. Look after yourself xxx

@moosterthemoose good q re Harmony. I am planning to have it because I had a pregnancy which we chose to terminate earlier this year - we found out first that something was wrong at the 12 week scan -our trust give you the results of the blood test straight away and it wasn’t good. (And if your trust takes a few weeks you could be further along when they come in). I then had to have CVS and an anxious three day wait to confirm diagnosis which was agonising. Had I had Harmony earlier I would have known sooner and not had to have the invasive CVS test (which was ok, painful but ok). I think we are trying to save ourselves the stress. I’m 38 too so my results will come back fairly high risk anyway so I’d rather know. It also turned out I was 13 weeks at the 12 week scan, and it was only by the hospital being so amazing that we got everything done (tests, results back and termination) in a week so I was only 14 weeks. If I had been in a trust where bloods take two weeks I could have been 15 weeks before knowing anything, and then the appointment for termination could have taken up to three weeks to come through - so worst case 18 weeks. I’m not sure I could have coped with that. We are having Harmony so that I know whether this pregnancy is the same as before by 11 weeks and we can then either relax (hopefully!) or make plans. I am super cautious because of what happened to us before - they described it as being age related plus bad luck. My chance
This time of it happening again is 1% increased so we are trying to be positive. Hope that helps.

ladycarlotta · 30/07/2018 11:28

@MonstertheMoose @thefirsttimer According to my LMP I'm 9+2 today but the baby was measuring a few days behind in both scans (within normal margins, no concerns) so at the last scan the technician suggested an adjusted EDD of a few days later than I thought - now 4th March. But like you, Monster, I've been told that it isn't reliable until the 12 week scan so I'm going to take everything with a pinch of salt til then. I haven't a clue when I ovulated anyway, so it's anyone's guess.

I'm short and was a small baby, but I'm pretty sure that has no bearing on the growth of the embryo at this point...

So sorry about the sickness, Monster. I really haven't enjoyed the last few weeks, but I feel more human now - still nauseous but definitely functional if that makes sense? Like I can concentrate and get stuff done. Hope you turn a corner soon. Be selfish as hell til then, I've decided it's the only way. I felt terrible I didn't really tidy for our guests this weekend but I was awake and upright and conversational, and decided that was good enough.

MoosterTheMoose · 30/07/2018 11:30

thanks nightmanager that's really useful - I hadn't really thought about the extra delays waiting for bloods - I don't know if my trust gives you the blood results at the 12 week scan, will try to find out.

Nightmanagerfan · 30/07/2018 11:31

P.s. @moosterthemoose is this your first pregnancy? I was super tired last time between 6 and 11 weeks and found work really difficult. In the end all I did was work and sleep - cancelled all social arrangements and DH did all our cooking/life admin while I went to bed at 7:30pm. It feels never ending while you’re in it but it does pass. I found drinking lots of fizzy water helped, and never allowing myself to be hungry - eg eating a substantial snack (eg half a sandwich) before leaving work to get on the tube for an hour) really helped keep a lid on it.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 30/07/2018 11:55

Just out of the appointment. Looks like this baby is stubborn and is sticking around for now anyway.
Ectopic ruled out, sack in the right place, she could see a heart beat (but not capture it on the machine sadly) and measuring roughly in the right range considering the images she was getting weren't great.

A sigh of relief considering the amount of blood, but she said it looks like it is just a large implantation bleed from what she could see and doctor would have to follow up if it continued

Nightmanagerfan · 30/07/2018 11:59

@squirtlesmumagain I’m so pleased - hope that has put your mind at rest for now.
