Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

@TheMagicTorch yeah I agree it is a long time! I found out before I was even 4 weeks so feels like an eternity 😂

I've booked mine for 7+6, she said I must have a very full bladder xx

SPR1107 · 14/08/2018 11:22

I'm only 5 + 5 (second pregnancy), and my clothes are so tight! I've got some jeans that I can't even do up anymore! I know a lot of it is water retention, but I was nowhere near this big first time round.
I'm actually struggling to hide it.
Anyone else having this (I don't want to say problem, but whilst I'm trying to hide it, it's difficult!)

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 14/08/2018 11:32

@Dani7 I’m a teacher too... this hasn’t been the most restful holiday for me so far and I’m dreading going back knackered! I have a long commute too so really hope my nausea/sickness is certainly no worse than last time 😬

LowPainThreshold · 14/08/2018 12:30

Woke up this morning covered in sweat but shivering! So weird!

@sacha just found a really reasonable place near me that does early scans for £40 - will defo be booking myself in for when I'm 8 weeks

Treaclepie19 · 14/08/2018 12:51

Hi everyone :)
My boobs are also really sore. I've been in a non wired sort of sports bra daily since finding out. I remembered wires are a no no from last time so thought why not!

organised5 · 14/08/2018 12:53

@Gem7lou you must have a big car!!! 😂

Welcome newbies 👋🏻👋🏻

LMMEMW · 14/08/2018 13:52

@SPR1107 i'm the same! Im 6 weeks 3days and i swear there is no hiding this tummy! iv a flowy dress on in work today but tummy is popping through! Feeling very nauseous and strugglying through meals. Any one any good tips to help? Im not sure the nibbling at the ginger biscuits are making much of a difference.

LMMEMW · 14/08/2018 13:59

@sachabloom i was he same until spot on 6 weeks and the sickness started. enjoy not being sick while it lasts!

and congratulations!

BooksandBrie · 14/08/2018 14:33

Hello everyone! Can I join please? Got a bfp this morning at 12dpo completely out of the blue. Due at on Thursday and don’t normally test until then, but had hot yoga planned for this evening (went Monday too, oops!) which isn’t allowed in pregnancy and thought I’d check first. Got a bfp this morning on a clear blue digital with fmu, but a bfn around lunchtime with another clear blue. Hoping it’s just because not fmu.

All going well I’ll be due 26th April! Grin

BooksandBrie · 14/08/2018 14:36

Also no pregnancy symptoms, just normal af symptoms like cramping and feeling a bit sensitive. But I’m only 3+4 so maybe that’s why.

Feel like I don’t know what to do. Dh is over the moon but I don’t want to tell anyone else just yet. Already have doctors booked for next week so will just mention it then i guess.

So excited 😆

ashley992 · 14/08/2018 14:47

@BooksandBrie congratulations! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and still don't have any great symptoms. I don't feel any more tired than usual and my boobs are slightly tender. In a way I'm hoping it'll hit me soon so it can feel more real! My last pregnancy unfortunately resulted in a missed miscarriage but as it was twins, my symptoms were worse. Hopefully everything is ok and I'm just comparing this pregnancy to a twin one and that's why symptoms are mild!

BooksandBrie · 14/08/2018 14:58

@ashley sorry to hear that :( I’ve read that the symptoms are earlier and more intense for twins. The books I’ve read say symptoms mainly start at 6 weeks, but I guess it depends on the person. The only thing I’ve noticed is that my abdomen feels quite tight, but then that might be last nights yoga! 🧘‍♀️

NorthernGirl1991 · 14/08/2018 15:30

I’m feeling a bit anxious this week, and have booked an early scan for the weekend (privately). Has anyone had an early scan and what should I expect? I’ll be 6+5 by then.

ashley992 · 14/08/2018 15:34

@NorthernGirl1991 My early scans showed foetal poles in sacs. I think you should see a heartbeat around 6 weeks too but not 100%. They sort of looked like jelly beans! It was an internal scan.

donna474 · 14/08/2018 15:50

@BooksandBrie I'm 3+6 today and due 24th April. Full of a cough and cold right now but not much in terms of symptoms. Slightly bloated and tired but think that's just down to the cold. I'm thinking of getting an early scan at 7 weeks as don't think I can hold out until 12 weeks!

donna474 · 14/08/2018 15:54

@TheMagicTorch I agree, it is far too long to wait from 4 weeks to 12. We're going to book an early scan but not sure whether to go for 8 weeks or earlier. What are people's thoughts? Don't want to go at 6 or 7 weeks and it be too early and not show anything but then don't know if I can wait another 4 weeks 😩. We have a local one that does from 6 weeks and is only £45

BooksandBrie · 14/08/2018 16:07

Hi @donna 👋 when did you get your bfp? Hope your cold gets better soon!

I don’t know anything about what happens after the bfp, I deliberately didn’t read up while we were trying as didn’t want to jinx myself. So don’t know much about the scans, but thought there was one before the 12 week one that tested for irregularities?

Spanner91 · 14/08/2018 16:08

Update I've started cramping more intense and bleeding is red and clotting now so I don't think this pregnancy is meant to be. Silver lining I know I can get pregnant now but very bittersweet because I got my heart set on this one now it's here. Good luck and congratulations to everyone xx

Treaclepie19 · 14/08/2018 16:12

Welcome new ladies :)
At 6 weeks there should be a heartbeat but a 6 week scan can cause worry as obviously the dates only need to be a few days out to make it hard to see anything. At 6w 4d I saw my son as a flickering heartbeat. At 9w5 days He was a proper little baby dancing about.

These stats are from the place I'm going for my scan on Friday.
Obviously things can still go wrong later on, there can be other complications and so on, but the stats reassured me when I was pregnant last time so though I'd share.

At 6 weeks gestation 78% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term
At 7 weeks gestation 95% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term
At 8 weeks gestation 98% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term
At 10 weeks gestation 99.4% of pregnancies in which a fetal heartbeat is identified, will continue to term

Treaclepie19 · 14/08/2018 16:14

Im so sorry @spanner91 ❤ Thinking of you.

monkerina · 14/08/2018 16:27

@spanner91 so sorry to hear that. Be kind to yourself x

@Treacle, I've been looking at these sites for reassurance: Daily Odds and Miscarriage Odds, where did you find those stats?

I've just had a scan at 6 weeks following cramping and previous miscarriages- saw a little tiny jellybean with a heartbeat. With DS I had a scan at 7.5 weeks and he was a little more recognisable as an actual baby!

monkerina · 14/08/2018 16:30

Oh sorry @Treaclepie, just reread your post and the stats are from your scanning place. It's interesting how they're so different depending on source!

Treaclepie19 · 14/08/2018 16:32

Yeah they're probably not the most accurate, it was a different one I looked at before but I think the fact that it jumps up quite quickly is reassuring either way.

Thomas21 · 14/08/2018 16:37

Hey ladies, can I join? Thought I was 8w+2 but went to my 3rd scan and was confirmed at 6w+6 due 3rd April. Last 2 weeks have been horrible I woke up 2 weeks ago today to heavy bleeding so thought I was miscarrying went to the hospital and they advised I had a hemotoma but the sac and yolk were there. Got rushed in last sat as I have an extremely heavy bleed and some massive clots scanned me again on Sunday and we saw a heartbeat. Still bleeding and have a 1 further massive bleed again with large clots got scanned today and baby is sticking and heatbeat is godod, although the hematoma is still there. Unless I have another bleed they won’t scan me now till 6th sept. It’s scary as I have had previous miscarriages and no children yet (I’m 33) but I’m feeling sick all the time my boobs are sore so these have to be good signs. Good luck to all of you xxx

TheMagicTorch · 14/08/2018 16:55

@donna474 I'm opting for 8 weeks so that it's more likely I can have an external ultrasound, and the pictures I've seen online are a little clearer x
