Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

It’s good news Grin it took forever because I have a very tilted uterus and had to have a bolster AND my fists under my bum(!) but we saw a little blob with a strong heartbeat. I’m in shock tbh, I was convinced we’d lost it. No explanation for the sudden loss of symptoms two weeks ago, but I hope that reassures some of you going through the same thing. As for the bleeding, they couldn’t find an obvious cause but they did ask me to go to the GP and have my cervix checked as it’s likely me that’s bleeding rather than the pregnancy if that makes sense. I’ve had bleeding after sex and between periods for the last year and been to the gp twice but nothing’s been done so hopefully this might spur them on to investigate a bit. So relieved, and the look on dhs face was amazing.

Another newbie here. I'm 29 and this will be my first.

Very excited. Tested on Saturday after being about 2 weeks late. I think I am 5 1/2 weeks... very low-key "trying" - we weren't temping or tracking so it is diffcult to tell!
3+ on the ClearBlue though. Booked in for the pre-chat on Thursday.

My only symptom so far has been sore boobs, poor DH got barked at a couple of times when he hugged a bit hard :)

Treaclepie19 · 13/08/2018 11:33

@AwkwardAsAllGetout that is such amazing news. Congratulations ❤

monkerina · 13/08/2018 11:45

@AwkwardAsAllGetout that's fantastic! So relieved for you!!! Xx

toomanyflatwhites · 13/08/2018 11:57

@AwkwardAsAllGetout that is SUCH great news! And also yay for your DH - so hard for them too I think as there is nothing obvious happening for them but it's still emotional too.

italianwifey · 13/08/2018 12:04

Sorry @newbie2703 i know nothing about those!
@awkwardasallgetout yay I’m so happy for you!! I’ve got a retroverted uterus, I think it’s the same thing? I’m going in thursday and really hoping they can find something this time. How many weeks are you?

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 13/08/2018 12:23

Thanks everyone Smile Italianwife, I’m 6+2, and yes it’s the same as a retroverted uterus. I’ve been told that I'm basically back to front inside. I was surprised that she actually intended to do a tummy scan, but she saw the problem immediately and had to revert to an internal scan, but actually it was fine. Very nerve wracking that it took her so long to see anything though. My urine sample looked awful though, it was practically orange so I know I have to make a real effort to drink more, especially as the nurse there said it looked like I had the beginnings of an infection so I have to make a real effort to flush things through. I don’t drink nearly enough as it is, but drinking atm is making me feel very sick.

Rapunzel91 · 13/08/2018 13:57

So happy for you @AwkwardAsAllGetout what a relief!

TheMagicTorch · 13/08/2018 14:24

@AwkwardAsAllGetout that's lovely news - congratulations!

@AwkwardAsAllGetout Excellent news!

This is my first pregnancy and so It’s all new to me. After getting my BFP (and double checking!) I rang the doctors on Friday and basically said, “I’ve just found out I’m pregnant. What now?!” I was expecting to be called in for a blood test or for confirmation or something but they just said they’d pass my details on to the midwife and she’ll be in touch. I’ve not heard anything yet (obviously has been the weekend but makes it feel like ages!) When is normal to hear? Will she not be in touch until nearer 8 weeks? I am 5+1 and go away to Tenerife next week for a week. Feeling a bit anxious about doing something wrong and the consequences. We found it difficult to conceive and I’m so frightened something will go wrong. Sorry, I feel like a right drama queen - hopefully our holiday will chill me out!

SPR1107 · 13/08/2018 15:45

@AwkwardAsAllGetout unfortunately they don't see you until about 8 weeks. This is my second and I still feel like that wait is unbearable so I feel for you.
If you call them an advise them that you're anxious and you just would like some travel advice, then I think they might see you a little earlier, even if it's not for booking it, and it's just for reassurance

Fluffy475 · 13/08/2018 16:05

Superb news @AwkwardAsAllGetout xx

MomoTheLemur · 13/08/2018 16:35

@AwkwardAsAllGetout great news!!! 😊

@Dani7 also my first and I felt very similar... obviously all areas vary slightly but I'll tell you my experience so far. (I'm 6+2) Went GP (normal appointment last Friday) to get advise about wether I need to change any of my meds etc (I have asthma and allergies) and then to ask what next... And she advised on that and referred me to a self referral website for the rest.
The scan part they didn't accept referral to unless you were over 6 weeks pregnant, while the 1st midwife check-in they seemed to suggest anytime between 6 to 8 weeks. I called this morning and will have that appointment tomorrow. IMO if your worried maybe see if you can call midwife direct and tell them how you have some travel coming up etc. ❤️

On other news week 6 is worst for me so far...luckily off work anyway, but have had like 3 day time naps every day and feeling constantly 🤢... 9 months seems a really long time right about now. Also, thinking of telling fam/closest friends (maybe my boss?) sooner than 1st scan as they must surely think I'm going nuts! Plus we are thinking whether or not all goes well the ones we might tell "early" we'd want to know about a successful or not successful pregnancy anyway... 🤷‍♀️

MomoTheLemur · 13/08/2018 16:46

@Newbie2703 aahh yes I have looked at reusable nappies too... Go ECO 🌍 but unfortunately my first so also no clue which are good... But closer the time was going to invest in some Amazon research, e.g. below. Let me know what you find/decide on!! 😊

Gem7lou · 13/08/2018 17:03

Hello lady’s I’m 4 weeks and 5 days with my 7th baby 😍 due April 15th first time to try mumsnet. Has anyone told family or have any announcement ideas?

LowPainThreshold · 13/08/2018 18:12

Hello everyone! Mind if I join?

I only found out this morning so in total shock! I'm 5 weeks tomorrow, due 16th April, two days before my 31st birthday : )

Anyone else have pretty bad cramping and sickness already? I feel dreadful! Doing an online food shop and all I'm buying are ready meals and things that can be thrown together because looking in the fridge is a no-no. If any of you have any recipe tips for MS friendly food that would be fab, I don't think I can eat nothing but mashed potato for the next 7 weeks (please for god sake don't go on for longer Confused.

Cupofteagarita · 13/08/2018 18:30

Hello, may I join? I got my BFP on 21st July (which was a bit of a surprise...we had decided to stop trying after ectopic in April...)

I am 36 and this is DC 3 for me, my other two are 8 and 6.

I had an early scan yesterday because of previous ectopic which has done the opposite of reassure me....I thought I was 7 weeks but sonographer reckoned it was earlier, 4mm tiny bean but a little flickering heartbeat. She saw all this transabdominally, which I was surprised by having only had internal scans at this stage before.

Anyway I can’t help obsess over the fact that it is “earlier” than I expected. Given when I got my BFP I can’t see how it could be.

Ahhhhhh...you would think it would be easier (and I would be more sane!) 3rd time around. 😳

Spanner91 · 13/08/2018 18:54

Hi. I randomly took a test (then 4 more) this weekend and turns out I'm expecting! Due roughly 14th April 19! We kind of stopped trying and booked in at the Drs but turns out we don't need to now! Anyone else feel really scared?! I'm only 5+1 and it feels like ages until the scan to be able to tell people! I've had some cramping and spotting but that seems normal? Excited but so surreal right now

Exhausted!!

organised5 · 13/08/2018 20:53

@Gem7lou Did you just say 7?!? 😱😍 wow that's amazing. How old are your others? You'll definitely be the one giving the rest of us advice!

Newbie2703 · 13/08/2018 20:55

@momothelemur yes they're the 1s I was looking into. The designs on them are really cute ! I think it works out alot cheaper if you buy a bulk starter pack though rather than individually.
