April 2019 Babies

Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

Hi all, coming to join the group! Got a positive test this morning and according to my dates I'm due the 15th April. My little boy will be 2.5 when this one arrives.

From memory last time I called the GP and had some forms to fill in, then that was it til first MW appointment....does that sound right?!

And (terrible I can't remember already!!) I'm presuming I should start taking pregnancy vitamins....any recommendations??

Alohomora07 · 12/08/2018 18:31

Hi everyone!

Please can I join? Got my BFP today, slightly unexpected but pleasant surprise as we were planning to start TTC early next year.

This will be my first, I think due around the 21st of April. Feeling a little terrified, overwhelmed and excited!

TheMagicTorch · 12/08/2018 19:58

@toomanyflatwhites thinking of you, hope everything turns out okay for you ❤

I'm now past AF due date (yesterday) and did a digital so felt a bit better seeing it in actual words!
But we're away for the weekend and I've got awful sinus pain, runny nose and sneezes galore. So feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Welcome to the new ladies 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

italianwifey · 12/08/2018 20:42

@toomanyflatwhites hope you’re okay, thinking of you. It might all be fine - have you got an EPU you can get to tomorrow morning? Lots are self referral. Hope it is just nothing to worry about, sounds like an awful weekend.

Hey to the newcomers :-)

Feeling very sick myself today, no actual vomming yet though!

Treaclepie19 · 12/08/2018 20:59

@italianwifey I've been feeling very sick tonight too and verrry emotional.

QueenOfCatan · 12/08/2018 21:11

@toomanyflatwhites 🤞 that it's not the worst for you, lots of women bleed in early pregnancy so hopefully it's just normal bleeding x

QueenOfCatan · 12/08/2018 21:12

If anybody else is on subsequent baby and had a section last time, is your scar line bothering you? Mine usually gets a bit sore and achey during periods but it's giving me a bit of bother at the moment and being a bit more achey than usual!

caitlinn · 12/08/2018 21:14

Hope you don't mind me joining too, I'm 5+3 today, with my second. I had a miscarriage in may so fingers crossed this pregnancy goes straight forward, I have a scan booked on the 21st due to the complications with my DS, who arrived at 27 weeks.....the wait is killing me!!

QueenOfCatan · 12/08/2018 21:16

@octoberbundle the bog standard pregnacare can be bought cheaply on amazon!

I hadn't thought about it yet being honest! I suppose I need to get onto it though I am taking folic acid! I have no idea what multivit to use this time as I'm still bfing DD who has allergies so I'm not sure if a) I should be avoiding her allergens in a multivit given the minute amounts that are likely to go through my milk and b) what multivitamin hasn't got her allergens in 🙄

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 12/08/2018 21:20

Fingers crossed for you toomanyflatwhites x my scans in the morning and I’m so worried. I keep swinging between optimism that finally my symptoms are picking up (nausea is pretty much constant, and my boobs are suddenly very tender) to complete despair that I had bleeding and such quickly deflating boobs. I’m even worried about going to the building itself, last time I was there I was in a very bad way and the trauma from that has been brought right to the surface. Luckily dh has taken the whole day off so either way I won’t be by myself. Even googling what to expect at a six week scan isn’t helping as there’s such a variety of answers! If it’s all ok, I’m debating telling my parents tomorrow. My mum just had a big birthday this weekend but has been away so tomorrow is the first we’ll see her. I’m not especially close to my mum but after our last miscarriage she was great so I’d rather they know I think. If it’s bad news I probably won’t ever mention it.

Treaclepie19 · 12/08/2018 21:49

@AwkwardAsAllGetout my fingers are so crossed for you. I'm glad you're not going alone.

@QueenOfCatan I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin D from boots. I have a problem with big tablets so they're perfect. Sounds tricky with the allergies though.

italianwifey · 12/08/2018 23:19

@awkwardasallgetout I hope the scan goes well, everything crossed for you.

QueenOfCatan · 12/08/2018 23:30

I hope all goes well @awkwardasallgetout I will keep my fingers crossed in the morning x

@treaclepie19 vitD is a good shout, I always forget about that one. The allergies are a pain in the arse, I was a vegetarian before the allergies surfaced but had to become vegan pretty much instantly and give up peanut butter 😭 but vego bars exist Grin
It's a nightmare with vitamins though, especially for her, most kids vitamins have peanut oil in and she started having a reaction to the supposedly "safe" one prescribed by the allergy team Hmm

AmyRhodes · 13/08/2018 00:18

Thinking of you @toomanyflatwhites

Good luck @AwkwardAsAllGetout !

toomanyflatwhites · 13/08/2018 06:50

Thinking of you @AwkwardAsAllGetout I hope everything goes ok today and so glad you won't be alone.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts. Having never experienced bleeding in my first pregnancy I just instantly decided this meant it was over - bleeding quite a bit now so am sure that was the right instinct. I can't get to an EPU as I'm in rural France, just starting the 2nd week of a 3 week holiday.

At 5 weeks would I need to see a doctor or can I just assume a miscarriage and not see anyone? I don't even know if I can use tampons, I assume not...which really sucks as it just highlights what is happening and doesn't let me just pretend it's a normal period iykwim.

monkerina · 13/08/2018 07:02

Thinking of you this morning @awkward. If you're sure of your dates, at 6 weeks embryo should be about 4mm with a tiny heartbeat- but a couple of days more or less makes a big difference.

@toomanyflatwhites I'm so sorry. From experience a natural mc at this stage is a heavy period with some clotting, don't use tampons, and you might find it useful to call your GP back home for advice/to log it- if you have difficulty in the future they'll usually only investigate after 3mcs so it's good to have a record of absolutely everything iyswim? Sorry, it's a horrible thing to think about and I haven't said it very well, just something to bear in mind. Hope DH and toddler are helping xx

nathaliemargareta · 13/08/2018 07:05

@sachabloom , thirding the having crazy dreams! So incredibly realistic. My sleep is completely out of whack as well - regardless of when I go to sleep I seem to wake up at 4am And then exhausted again by 7am lol.

Anyone else who's also feeling faint/dizzy a lot?
I feel like my head is balancing on a little toothpick and just wobbling around. Keep having those moments of having to sit back down/grab something for stability after standing up.

@toomanyflatwhites and @AwkwardAsAllGetout you're both in my thoughts. ❤️

Fluffy475 · 13/08/2018 07:44

Sorry to hear what's happening @toomanyflatwhites Can you go into a local town to a medical facility to get some advice? Perhaps you can have an ultrasound to see what's going on? My friend had quite a bleed at this stage with her third pg but it was fine, late or delayed implantation. Hope you're ok xx

Good luck with the scan today @AwkwardAsAllGetout xx

Woke up feeling absolutely rubbish this morning!! Getting to that weird stage now where apart from the sore boobs and waking up feeling hungover each morning I don't really feel pg! Will be happy once the first trimester is over!!!

Rapunzel91 · 13/08/2018 08:25

Welcome to all the newbies!

Fingers crossed for you @toomanyflatwhites

Best of luck today @awkwardasall , I hope you’ll leave the scan feeling relieved

I’m 5+3 and haven’t had much in terms of symptoms except backache, mild fatigue and my brain no longer working lol. But yesterday was definitely a whole other thing! I’ve slept so much this weekend and could have slept double and had horrible dizziness to the point it made me faint and sick! Thankfully it came in waves and didn’t last all day. Its reassuring to have some quite strong symptoms but at the same time I don’t want them constantly!

In terms of vitamins, I take the boots own brand pregnancy vitamins with omega-3. In winter I had vitamin deficiencies which included low folic acid levels so I’m keen on getting everything that my body needs. Doctors can’t find out what’s causing the deficiencies but I felt horrible and like a new person when I got treatment.

F1rsttimemum · 13/08/2018 08:25

Hi everyone, this is my first time on here. I’m very excited and due on April 1st. Just feeling hungover every morning and if I don’t eat all the time then I’m really queasy. Got a scan on Thursday to check things out. Fingers crossed.

donna474 · 13/08/2018 08:38

Hi all, BFP yesterday for me, 3.5 weeks so still very early on. Calculated due date as 24th April. First pregnancy for me, I've got two step daughters so very excited to be expanding our family

littlehelp · 13/08/2018 09:17

Morning all

Joining as got the our bfp over the weekend, this will be dc4 for us already have DS9 DD5 DD3 😂

italianwifey · 13/08/2018 09:26

Hi to the newcomers :-) @f1rsttimemum I feel like that too, now just feeling slightly queasy constantly and doesn’t seem to make a difference if I eat or not anymore :-( but am glad I’m a way as was getting worried about symptoms coming and going before!

Hannahlouise4026 · 13/08/2018 09:40

Hi there, this is baby 3 for me an I’m 7 weeks pregnant. I have had spotting on and off for the past week, but he early scan st 6 weeks and all good, heartbeat present and everything where it should be. I’ve actually posted on the pregnancy board re the spotting - it’s been pink/brown/snot like discharge. I didn’t have anything like this with my two previous pregnancies. I had lletz treatment for cin2 abnormal cells on my cervix 2 years ago and this is my first pregnancy since then, I’m wondering if this would be the cause of such discharge (I’m hesitant to call it spotting, as it is very scant and only when wiping and not all the time - not enough to have to wear a liner or anything) just wondered if anyone else had treatment on cervix?

Newbie2703 · 13/08/2018 11:17

Has anyone got any experience with reusable nappies. I'm very into helping the environment so I definitely want them but not sure which ones are best. I was looking at bambino mio anyone used them before ?
