Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

SPR1107 · 10/08/2018 14:40

Sorry to hear that @kisses4u x

Ohnonotanotherusername · 10/08/2018 14:43

So sorry to hear that @kisses4u Thanks

toomanyflatwhites · 10/08/2018 14:44

@italianwifey it's apparently one of the things "everyone" on MN claims to have, and I read a whole thread a few weeks ago about how every other person on MN claimed to have it but the OP claimed they had never met someone IRL who had a genuine phobia of being sick. Well I didn't puke between ages 7 and 32 and since then it's only been twice in 8 years, I have had the fear ever since I was 7! And honestly was the thing I was most afraid of in labour - I rejected gas & air because it made me feel sick, and was so afraid of puking when I was pushing! I'm sure it's most of the reason I had an epidural instead of the water birth I thought I wanted!

MomoTheLemur · 10/08/2018 14:54

@kisses4u I'm heart brocken for you! Have lots of cuddles with your little one. I don't know anything else to say, but thinking of you and your family! ❤️❤️❤️

Fluffy475 · 10/08/2018 14:57

@toomanyflatwhites @italianwifey I used to manage someone who had a phobia of vomit to the point where we had to support her through counselling/therapy treatment because it had got to the point where she was losing weight through not eating and it was stopping her from leaving the house. I always poohoo anyone blindly dismissing people and their illnesses as simple blind indifference and lack of understanding or want to 😊

Fluffy475 · 10/08/2018 14:58

Really sorry to see @kisses4u hope you're ok xx

TheMagicTorch · 10/08/2018 15:00

@kisses4u I'm so so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you ❤️

TheMagicTorch · 10/08/2018 15:01

@toomanyflatwhites @Fluffy475 I have a friend who avoided nights out for her whole 20s because of it, the only thing that worked was hypnotherapy.

Hope you manage to avoid it this time too, must be terrifying

italianwifey · 10/08/2018 15:41

@kisses4u I’m so sorry, that’s awful news. I hope OH is looking after you.

@toomanyflatwhites I can’t believe that, that’s terrible! It can be really crippling - I actually work as a therapist with anxiety problems so I’ve witnessed how terrible it can be.

@fluffy475 couldn’t agree more, that’s not supportive at all is it! Just what people need 🙄

Treaclepie19 · 10/08/2018 16:16

toomanyflatwhites I can totally get that.
I got used to it when I was pregnant but that was because my fear is more related to being ill. If that makes sense.

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 10/08/2018 18:10

So sorry kisses4u x be kind to yourself and take your time x I didn’t deal with my miscarriages in a healthy way really and it’s really messed my head up this time round. A lot of feelings I didn’t want to deal with at the time so kind of pushed them away. Try and keep talking to your dp, it’s so important x

I caved today and bought a digital test and it’s showing 3+. When I first got my positive it was showing 2-3 so there is an increase. I only bought it because suddenly I felt REALLY pregnant after worrying about my loss of symptoms, and couldn’t help myself. I’m worried now as my scans on Monday and I’ve now started to hope it might be ok after all. I felt really nauseous and faint today while I was out, and still feel exhausted. I’ll know either way in three days. This pregnancy seems to have lasted forever already.

Treaclepie19 · 10/08/2018 19:11

That sounds so positive @AwkwardAsAllGetout.
I really have my fingers crossed for you.
I know what you mean, I've got my hopes up now too. Though I refuse test again... I'm just counting down to next Friday. It can't come quick enough.

firsttimemomtobe · 10/08/2018 19:42

Sending love @kisses4u

Annie264 · 10/08/2018 20:20

So sorry @kisses4u xxxx

QueenOfCatan · 10/08/2018 20:27

@kisses4u sorry to hear that x

I take back what I said about no symptoms. I've been sooo tired yesterday and today. Fell asleep with DD last night, DH came and woke me up half hour later. And I had a nap this afternooon and almost fell asleep with DD again this evening. And painful cramping yesterday. And feeling very cold, which is generally my body's response to any minor illness or feeling run down and I had it a lot when pregnant with DD despite the glorious weather whilst pregnant with her!

TMI I have also been going more frequently too.

@Amythodes I'll be very brave and super considerate and swap places if you like Wink Sounds interesting though! Funny how differently pregnancy is approached in different places!

@Rapunzel91 Carry on as you usually would, just be wary that you will get tired very quickly.

@westmacott That sounds interesting. Ar eyou getting very ahead with knitting or doing it for somebody else? I have so much on my list for DD that I don't think this poor one will get anything! I'm knitting tension squares for autumn and winter cardigans but for some reason my knitting is wonky, never happened before in 10 years of knitting so I'm a tad confused, maybe it's all the crochet I've been doing recently Hmm

RE Pregnancy pillows. They are amazing. I wish I'd got one much sooner with my first pregnancy! My sister lent me hers from about 7/8 months but they are so comfortable as they hold you in place a bit and you can lean on them through the night.

AmyRhodes · 11/08/2018 02:23

@QueenOfCatan
I'm not complaining! 😂 It's amazing out here. The tiredness and sore boobs has really got me in the last couple of days though. DP being wonderful but we're here with friends, one of whom (male) ALWAYS knows best. Even about pregnancy.

Case in point:
Fell asleep on the tube = "Did Amy not get enough sleep last night?"
Told my DP about sore boobs = "Oh, that won't be happening yet." (I'm 4+5)
I mentioned feeling sick = "If you think you've got morning sickness now, just wait until you're 9 months." 🙄

He's a lovely bloke but grrrrr.

monkerina · 11/08/2018 07:23

So sorry @kisses xx

Ooh @amy that's so annoying! It would be even more annoying if he was even right 😂 we've got loads of hcg and progesterone etc racing around now, it peaks in a few weeks then everything should settle down a bit when week 13 hits and the placenta takes over. There (for the majority at least!) IS NO morning sickness at 9 months, fool! Have you explained to him what mansplaining is?

@queenofcatan another knitter- we should set up a knitting offshoot thread 😉 I remember at this stage with DS crying with frustration because I just couldn't get a pattern line to add up and even emailed the author to beg for help- nothing wrong with the pattern, just me! @westmacott it's just a stitch pattern from an old book that I've turned into a blanket, nothing exciting but it is cute...

organised5 · 11/08/2018 08:02

@Westmacott OMG you are my new favourite person!!! I am a maths/economics nerd so statistics are right up my street 🤓 I'm buying this book immediately!

toots123 · 11/08/2018 08:07

So sorry @kisses4u take care of yourself xx

@AwkwardAsAllGetout I'm really tempted to buy more digi's! I know I'll drive myself mad but would be lovely to see 3+ As I did with my previous pregnancies!

Still no real symptoms here. I know I'll regret wishing I would feel sick but it's always a nice reassurance.
We spoke this morning and have decided to book an early scan in a few weeks (think I'm about 5 weeks just now) not sure if it'll be a good idea or not though!

MomoTheLemur · 11/08/2018 08:43

Tiredness officially overpowered any idea of insomnia... Slept from 7pm till 7am... 😱 And still feel tired... 🤔 As a first timer at all this I'm amazed how much goes on when really there is nothing to show for it yet. How is everyone sleeping?? Happy weekend!!

QueenOfCatan · 11/08/2018 09:09

@amyrhodes It does sound amazing! What a douche RE your mate, tell him he can have an opinion when he starts growing a baby Grin I wouldn't be able to stop myself commenting back I got soo fed up with comments like that very quickly last time, I don't think I could handle it on holiday too!

@monkerina oh dear! I could totally see that happening to me too!

Dizziness has kicked in today, standing up is not fun. This happened early with DD too, tempted to try some tea (that was one of the first things with her as well!)

toomanyflatwhites · 11/08/2018 09:11

@MomoTheLemur am SO jealous!! Am having the absolute worst sleep! Not helped by ridiculously painful sinuses - feels like I have been punched in the eye - and an endless need to blow my nose....and sharing a room with a toddler who currently refuses to go to sleep until 10.30 at night doesn't help much either!!

Annie264 · 11/08/2018 09:39

@toomanyflatwhites @MomoTheLemur
Sleep problems here too! I can get to sleep fine but waking in the early hours and can't nod back off. The sinus pain sounds horrible on top of that though you poor thing!

I'm not sure whether getting one of the pillows will help, I'm tempted
