Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

Welcome newbies! So nice to see some familiar names @TheMagicTorch 🙌🏻❤️

organised5 · 07/08/2018 21:10

@letsgetthispartystarted yay I'm 5+1 today as well! 😀 welcome xx

NorthernGirl1991 · 07/08/2018 22:11

Hi everyone,

Please can I join in? Realised today that my period was 7 days late, did a test which looks VERY positive. First baby, not planned but very welcome.

JustAskAlice · 07/08/2018 22:24

Hi all, and congrats on your bfp's. May I join too? Just found out today and think I'm 4+1. I have a DS who is 2.5, but I seem to experiencing symptoms much earlier this time round - feeling super nauseous, lower back cramps and ouchy boobs. Hoping they settle soon or I'm going struggle with running around after a toddler!

Sarah1107 · 07/08/2018 23:27

Hi Everyone. Mind if I join?
Positive test on Saturday, we think I'm 4w 4d due 12th April with baby number 2!
I was sick all day everyday with baby number 1 up to 20 weeks, so really nervous about what's to come whilst looking after a toddler but equally as excited!
I've tried to read back to catch up but there was lots. I know it won't be the same in every case, but in case it offers a little reassurance, I had a big bleed at 6 weeks with baby number 1, who will be 2 at the end of this month.. I hope it all works out for you.
Congratulations to everyone also Smile

lolacola13 · 08/08/2018 00:04

Tentatively joining after two v v early miscarriages in a row May and June . I am 4w + 2 I think. Lots of strange cramps and tightening etc nipples sore and heartburn already from last week . Tests are looking darker here's hoping this one sticks . Going for blood hcg this week xoxoxox

gothicsprout · 08/08/2018 00:41

@Tootyfrooty35 DD is 18m so will be a little over 2 when DC2 arrives, all being well.

How early did you find your milk dried up and any tips for how to make it through dry nursing?! DD already seems more fussy to me (5+5), but possibly that's just more teeth coming through and the heat.

I've actually been feeling quite upset/conflicted about the whole thing - I'm not sure I can see myself tandem feeding, but also didn't want to stop before DD was around 2 ideally (this little one coming slightly earlier than we were thinking). And right now boobs are still one of my main parenting tools, so the idea of trying to actively stop seems very daunting. So current plan is to just muddle along as long as it's still working for both of us and not borrow trouble!

toomanyflatwhites · 08/08/2018 05:24

Oh the insomnia....why oh why does the sleep deprivation start so early?? I briefly kept a journal during my first pregnancy and I know that the first week post BFP I suffered pretty badly then too. Now I have a toddler who wakes me and then I can't get back to sleep - been laying awake since 4.15 so that's 2 hours already (am in France...) - I'm so bloody bored! Can't even get up as on holiday with the in laws and layout of the house means it's impossible to sneak around quietly! Also I have had a permanently blocked right nostril for a week which is driving me loopy!! Anyone else got sleep issues )or weird sinuses)??!

Tootyfrooty35 · 08/08/2018 07:03

@gothicsprout I was lucky that my milk never dried up, it doesn't for all women, but I had awful aversion. I had no choice as my nursling was only 9/10m so maybe the regularity of her feeds kept my supply going?
I'll not lie, nursing through pregnancy is definitely not easy but I'm glad I did. My boy is now two so I've reached my 'goal' and I sway strongly between hating feeding him and absolutely loving it 😂

I think it's a good plan you've got, retry much what we're doing. I do occasionally have to count and unlatch him, which he gets upset about, and I tried yesterday to cuddle him instead and he was mad for about thirty seconds then he forgot about the milk so.... I think if I do want to stop i will in the next month or so, but its such an emotional decision.

I have such headache this morning 😞 and yep @toomanyflatwhites the bunged up nose and sinuses here too. Its to do with your increasing blood volume in preparation. Guessing that explains the headaches too, and even the insomnia. I get some awful pregnancy symptoms, think I have thrush too 😔 so soon. Boo!

I got the fb invite thanks @organisedfive but I tthibk ill join in a few weeks 😊

Tootyfrooty35 · 08/08/2018 07:04

Welcome to newbies❤️

Rapunzel91 · 08/08/2018 07:14

@sarah1107 we’re due date twins! Im expecting my first though so this is all new to me!

@toomanyflatwhites me on the insomnia!😩 I’ve never been a great sleeper but the last couple nights I’ve only had about 4 hours sleep each night, not coping at work very well. Can’t even imagine how hard it is with a toddler, you’re an inspiration!

Had some morning so far, apart from being exhausted from no sleep, my dog was being a little monster on his walk, and when I finally came down to eat my breakfast I noticed I had poured water in to it instead of milk and was then almost sick in to it😷

TheMagicTorch · 08/08/2018 07:33

@toomanyflatwhites I just got my BFP yesterday and my nose feels permanently blocked 😷

toomanyflatwhites · 08/08/2018 07:36

@TheMagicTorch and @Tootyfrooty35 I remember the sinus issues keeping me awake in the 3rd trimester but this is ridiculous!! I barely even believe I'm pregnant yet and here I am, laying awake for 4 hours while DP and DD snore beside me!
Don't feel much like anybody's hero right now tbh!

monkerina · 08/08/2018 07:56

Hello new ladies, welcome!

I really dislike the first trimester- slowly driving myself insane, convinced I've had another missed miscarriage after lots of cramps at the weekend and less nausea/tiredness, then had my inaugural vom of the pregnancy this morning and was thrilled! EPU can't ring me soon enough!

Gothicsprout DS has only just weaned, was still feeding during my last pregnancy - milk never completely dried up, but it did get uncomfortable for a while so gritted teeth got me through it.

MB34 · 08/08/2018 08:07

Can I be added to the Facebook group please?

I'm the total opposite with sleeping, I've been sleeping 10-6/7am most nights and could happily have a nap in the afternoons!

Although, Sod's law, I have a cold coming on. Not had one in about 2 years despite the boys having had one, what feels like, constantly for 2 years!

AmyRhodes · 08/08/2018 08:16

Can I join?!

I got my BFP yesterday and I can't quite believe it.

My app reckons I'm 3+2 and due on April 23. Can't book in with the docs yet as I'm on holiday.

Fingers crossed my little jumping bean holds on!

Congratulations everyone xxxxx

Fluffy475 · 08/08/2018 08:28

Welcome all new ones!

The sinus thing I thought was just me!! I get hay fever so just thought it was part of not being able to take the anti histamines.

I hate waking up in the night now as that's it no going back to sleep!!

Newbie2703 · 08/08/2018 09:18

Should I be worried that I suddenly don't feel sick this morning :/ and I actually managed breakfast and a cup of tea ! It feels great but now I can't help but worry. I'm 7 weeks so I didn't expect it to just disappear.

Sarah1107 · 08/08/2018 09:19

Exciting times @Rapunzel91. I'm always jealous of people who are pregnant for the first time because I was fascinated by it all!

Booked in for an early reassurance scan on 31st August, where I should be 8 weeks! No reason, other than I had one with my first (due to a bleed), and that 12 weeks just seems sooooooo far away!

My midwife isn't seeing me until 9 weeks.. everyone else being left that late too?

TheMagicTorch · 08/08/2018 09:22

@AmyRhodes Hi from the August bus! ❤️I'm 3+4, due 21 April!! Hopefully we have sticky beans!

@Rapunzel91 First baby here too, I'm so excited and slightly terrified!

Ohnonotanotherusername · 08/08/2018 09:28

@Newbie2703 I don't think there's anything you need to worry about - from what I can see it comes and goes. Mine has eased a little this morning, thank goodness. I think just enjoy the respite, I'm sure it will be back soon enough!

Newbie2703 · 08/08/2018 09:34

Thankyou @ohnonotanotherusername everything is sooooo worrying at this stage ! And the stress of buying a house is definitely not helping matters !

firsttimemomtobe · 08/08/2018 09:40

Hi to all the newbies, how exciting!

Has anyone who's having an early scan had it yet? Or any stories from previous pregnancies?

We had ours yesterday, was 6+0 as per LMP dates however only the yolk sac was visable. They recommended I have a rescan in approx 2 weeks so booked in for 26/8. I was initially quite upset, I thought it was bad news as no foetal pole was visible but the sonographer reassured me that all looked as expected but for more like 5 weeks. I've done a bit of research on the internet that has given me more reassurance but any similar stories would be very welcomed by my worrying brain.

Had my first aversion today. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I switched to decaf tea through the day with one regular cup first thing. This morning I can't drink my regular cup, tastes purely of smoke Brew. I'll try a decaf later.

Z x

AmyRhodes · 08/08/2018 09:43

Thanks @TheMagicTorch

I'm so excited and like you and @Rapunzel91 it's my first pregnancy.

I too am slightly terrified.

I don't know if it's all psychological or because my AF is officially late now, but since I got my BFP I'm feeling loads of symptoms. Period-pain-like bloat, constipation, sensitivity to smells... it's amazing what's going on with our bodies.

Sarah1107 · 08/08/2018 09:48

@firsttimemomtobe do you know your conception date? Or did you have shorter/longer cycles?
My friend is pregnant and she was given 3 different due dates right up to a third scan they done when they finally confirmed her date.
Fingers crossed it's just a date mix up!
