April 2019 Babies

LulaRose · 20/07/2018 11:16

Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

@Newbie2703 tell me about it! We moved house on Friday and it was hellish. Still feel like I am recovering from the tiredness. Looking forward to sleeping all weekend.

Fluffy475 · 08/08/2018 10:06

@Sarah1107 I'm seeing my midwife next week for booking but that's only because I'm away the week after when they usually do it which is 8 weeks where I am. Plus my midwife is my best friend and she's a hardass!!! 😊😊

MomoTheLemur · 08/08/2018 10:18

Hello ladies, I have been hovering around in the background for a few days while our news of the BFP sunk in and hope your happy for me to join? Halo I feel like I need the outlet as I'm terrible with keeping secrets and we decided to wait to tell (alot of history of miscarriage in my side of the family)

Some stats:
Both DH and I are 29 years old
1st pregnancy
TTC only since June (after having been on implant for the last three years)
Little bean is 5 weeks 4days along (had a bfn the week before, but retook it as I had major symptoms and period by that point was 1 week late)
Due on 4/4/2019 (though hard to gage my cycle as I had no periods while on implant and only 1 after I came off it)
Symptoms are constantly tired and lots of light cramping, as well as light nausea, hoping later especially doesn't get worse... Hmm
... Right mega essay over. Shock

AislingIrish · 08/08/2018 10:20

OMG the tiredness and sleep insomnia is crazy. Why did I never hear of pregnancy insomnia in the first trimester? Also head is away in the clouds all the time. @Fluffy475 I am also seeing the midwife on 22nd Aug at 8 weeks. Looking forward to it as everything is just surreal right now. Expecting first baby! DH still can’t believe it and being very cautious not wanting me to tell work until first midwife appointment or first scan. Men!

kisses4u · 08/08/2018 10:39

Firstimemomtobe
I had an internal scan due to a heavy bleed at 6 weeks and all they could see was a yolk sac! I was disheartened too but 2 weeks later I was re-scanned and all was well! Lovely strong heartbeat detected!!! So try not to worry it's impossible to see much at 6 weeks let alone 5 weeks!

Feeling rubbish today as I've picked up a sickness bug, def not pregnancy related as I was up all night throwing up 🤮 however that's stopped now and I just have the other end to contend with. Staying close to a toilet all day me thinks. Poor DS is stuck indoors with poorly me all day 🤨

bluesky45 · 08/08/2018 10:50

Hi everyone! I was looking for this thread, don't know how I missed it for so long! Just caught up with all the messages. Can I join? I'm 5+3 with 2nd baby. First is 10months. EDD is 7th April. Had my first midwife appointment yesterday. They do one before your booking appointment where I am and it's so pointless! Just asked me when my last period was and stuff like that. Should get my booking appointment through soon. Symptoms so far are tiredness! So tired! Last pregnancy I had hyperemesis so just waiting for the sickness and nausea to kick in again! Already got the tablets I was on last time from the doctor so they are waiting to be needed!

TheMagicTorch · 08/08/2018 11:18

@AislingIrish I literally can't think of anything else sat at my desk at work!! Am I going to be like this for the rest of the 9months! First baby too so very excited.

After a chemical a couple of cycles ago I'm just looking forward to getting to the 4 week mark first - got an early BFP on two FRER

@MomoTheLemur welcome, will be great chatting to people on here- we're keeping ours quiet for a little while too 😊

firsttimemomtobe · 08/08/2018 11:27

@Sarah1107 I was using natural cycles to track my temp & my cycles were quite consistent 28days +/- 1.9 days so fairly regular. I didn't tempt track the month we conceived as we had fertility assessment appointments going on so hard stopped TTC do conception date is a guess x

@kisses4u thank you! That's reassuring! I'll be around 8+5 from LMP by the time we have rescan so fingers crossed for a nice strong heartbeat x

Treaclepie19 · 08/08/2018 11:32

Hi new ladies :)

Sorry to hear you're unwell kisses4u, hope you feel better soon.

Rapunzel91 · 08/08/2018 13:12

@themagictorch I’m struggeling to focus on anything else at work too, all I keep thinking is there’s a baby growing inside me!

I find it so fascinating what our bodies are capable of. I didnt think much of pregnancy and what it actually entails before but now that it’s actually happening to me I find it amazing! I’m also strangely relaxed which is unusual as I’m the first to worry about anything.

MomoTheLemur · 08/08/2018 13:12

@TheMagicTorch: thanks, really helps to have others to share this with... I'm hopelessly distracted. Back at work today (first day since BFP, as I found out the day before a long weekend trip away with MIL and DH)... And I have so much work, but all I have on my brains is pregnancy... Confused genuinely wouldn't be surprised if I accidentally blurrted it out.

How are the rest of you ladies coping with your day to day and keeping "stumm" at Work?

@Treaclepie19: Thanks for the welcome. Hope things are going well for you!

Jarline · 08/08/2018 13:13

Hi all - firstly Flowers for all of those who are experiencing bleeding etc., I've been there and its awful.

Hopefully due 5th April, after a miscarriage in May. Scared to breathe at the minute!! x

TheMagicTorch · 08/08/2018 13:23

@Rapunzel91 I know, it's fascinating. I've just been reading how much it grows in the first 6 weeks (yes, instead of doing work! 🤷)

@MomoTheLemur I keep expecting to do the same, my brain is filled with I'M PREGNANT and I have to stop it falling out my mouth 😆
I've got a long weekend away with DP this so looking forward to that and a break from work!
I am a coffee fiend too so on the decaf, hopefully without my colleagues noticing!

Sarah1107 · 08/08/2018 13:59

I know what you mean about trying to keep it quiet! I'm going away for the weekend with four friends on Friday... got to try and keep it quiet and pretend to be drinking! Going to be such hard work!!

toomanyflatwhites · 08/08/2018 14:56

Talking of keeping it quiet - I git my BFP an hour before heading to the airport for 3 weeks with the in laws. Wine and soft cheese at every meal is the usual rule, plus I'm having to pretend I'm taking medication for my cough and sinus pain - it's been 5 days, I have NO idea how we are going to keep this quiet!!

QueenOfCatan · 08/08/2018 15:21

I hope that you don't mind me jumping in too. Just got a half-surprise BFP (we weren't preventing but not trying either!) EDD Mid-april, 15th to 19th I think, my cycles are still unsettled after DD so not 100%.
I'm 29 and I have a 21mo DD.

TheMagicTorch · 08/08/2018 15:46

@toomanyflatwhites @Sarah1107 Oh bless you both! That sounds tough circumstances to have to keep it quiet.

We are telling DP's mum tomorrow as we're really close to her, and she was a great support when I had a chemical last time so even though it's early we're going to tell her.

Luckily it's just DP and I away for the weekend, so no pretending there! We get home Tuesday - I just hope I get past AF due date on Saturday with no problems.

Westmacott · 08/08/2018 16:00

Hello everyone! May I join the team? I got a BFP last week, 1st baby. We were trying to be old fashioned about it - no OPKs or ovulation tracking and no pressure. Took about 5 months, I think.

Anyway, this month it was a bit of a cheeky early test coz I was home alone and bored so thought I’d POAS for fun Grin - never thought it would be positive as it was 7 days before my period was due. But there was a line! I guess I must ovulate early?!

I’ve done 3 more +ve tests and now I’m officially into ‘missed period’ territory. So no more denying it! Super exciting (but a bit terrifying too).

Thanks for sharing all your stories, ladies. DH and I aren’t going to tell anyone for another few weeks so it’s nice to have someone to speak to about it!!! DH is super practical and won’t get emotional or excited about this until we are passed 12 weeks Smile

Can I ask: is anyone else getting weird pins and needles in hands and feet?! No sickness yet...but it’s early days!

Treaclepie19 · 08/08/2018 16:15

Wow it's getting busy on here :)

Thanks @MomoTheLemur, I'm still feeling a bit negative because of having bleeding last week but i just have to hope and wait and see :)

DumbledoresSocks · 08/08/2018 16:47

@Westmacott yes me! Only when I lie down though, so I go to bed early because I'm exhausted then I can't stop wriggling my feet. The heat doesn't help. I'm going to try soaking them in cool water tonight!

MomoTheLemur · 08/08/2018 16:53

@TheMagicTorch aww. You'll have a lovely relaxing time I'm sure and much deserved!!! Luckily I am only back a few days this week and then I have another week off as DH is a teacher and I wanted to maximize simultaneous holidays. Smile
As for coffee me too, but swapped to decaf on the quiet when TTC and think I'm getting away with that.

@Sarah1107 & @toomanyflatwhites: I can only imagine not being too obvious is hard enough when not constantly with each other. Maybe suggest your on antibiotics? Or pour a glass and pretend sipping with the odd pour away... I tend to find that easier than just saying "oh don't fancy it" OR try and convince everyone to do dry August for some charity... Grin

Westmacott · 08/08/2018 17:00

@dumbledoresSocks so glad it isn’t just me!! I hadn’t read about that being a symptom before. Soaking your feet sounds like a great plan Smile

I’m feeling so bloated too. Went swimming this morning and I already look pregnant!!! I always got bloated before AF (and I do have a wee bit of a pot belly anyway!) but this is extreme bloating. At this rate it’ll be maternity clothes by September!! Haha!

Treaclepie19 · 08/08/2018 17:14

Yes to the bloating! I honestly look 6 months pregnant. I'm not sure how I'll hide it at all.

MomoTheLemur · 08/08/2018 17:28

@Treaclepie19: I can imagine that that's worrying/scary and I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for you that the scan shows good news and that your little bean is nesting in soundly!! And definitely a good sign that you are still having symptoms! Flowers ❤️
