It's good to know I'm not the only one haha!

I'm not eating as much as normal but just eating stuff that I can keep down.
Bring on the second trimester!!
It's soo nice to see everyone having their scan pictures!
It is an amazing thing our bodies are doing! X

clairehr · 23/07/2018 19:19

Hmmm... So my BP has shot down today. I have high blood pressure (hereditary), and it has continued throughout the pregnancy so far still running at around 140/75. However, today it's dropped to an average of 118/64.

Anyone any idea why it may do that at this stage of pregnancy and not before? I know it's not low, but for me that's quite a big drop!

Susannach · 23/07/2018 19:38

@clairehr I believe BP dropping is to do with rapidly increasing blood volume in early pregnancy. It tends to go back up (and some) by the last trimester.

Had my scan today, too early as expected but thrilled to be a bit further on than I thought. Baby was happy and measured at 9+6, putting my EDD back to 19th Feb.

twiglet · 23/07/2018 19:44

I am used to bloating if I get glutened as I'm intolerant but now bloating every time I eat anything to about 6/7 months bump.... Thankfully my work colleagues are used to if I puff whilst at work
I think it will take considerable time before they ask! Lol
Peppermint tea helps to bring it down for anyone finding bloating bad.

clairehr · 23/07/2018 20:03

@Susannach I just qouldhave thought it would drop at the beginning, maybe my body is just catching up? Might mean that I don't have to be consultant led now though.

Aww, glad you got to see baby 😊 and I bet it's lovely to jump ahead a bit, hehe!

bubblybrit · 23/07/2018 20:07

I am the same @Bluelagoon25. Really wish I could eat more fruit and veg but craving pasta, bread and chips right now! So bad 😢

jeanzbeanz · 23/07/2018 20:55

I'm just being happy that I'm eating and keeping it down!! Trying not to worry too much about the nutritional value!

On another note, have any of the other cyclizine-taking ladies found that it's stopped being effective after a while? I've only been taking it for two weeks but I've felt really sick yesterday and today 😥 and was sick yesterday morning, first time for a few days.

Baby160P · 23/07/2018 21:08

I am a member at slimming world which is safe when pregnant they just adjust it but I just can't follow it constantly as I am nauseous. However I will keep trying and hope I'll get there!

Baby160P · 23/07/2018 21:10

Another question.

I take my pregnacare in the evening as I could stomach a bigger meal then. I'm now struggling with dinner but fine at breakfast. Does it have to be the same time each day you take it? Or can I switch to morning?
Or change it each day when I can actually eat a meal?

Wames90 · 23/07/2018 21:12

@jeanzbeanz how far gone are you now? I found mine wasn’t too bad until last week when I was 11+4 and started vomiting 5 times a day again but the last couple of days it’s settled back down again. I vomited yesterday evening and this evening but i think it’s because I’ve overheated and then felt queasy so been sick. I hope yours settles soon x

jeanzbeanz · 23/07/2018 21:14

@Wames90 I'm 12 weeks today. Also wondering if the heat is making it worse! I had forgotten how unbearable constant nausea is - the cyclizine worked really well to start with.

DragonFlew · 23/07/2018 21:26

@Baby160P I take pregnacare at any time of day. If I eat a big lunch I take it then. I don't take it the same time every day - sometimes I forget and then take it before bed!

Wames90 · 23/07/2018 21:41

@jeanzbeanz - Maybe it’s normal to get another surge of nausea/ vomiting around this time then. I’m sure the heat isn’t helping either though 🤢. Roll on cooler weather! I feel like this heat isn’t ever going to end and we’ll still be having a heatwave in February when we’re ready to burst! I hope you start to feel better again soon though.

FrowningFlamingo · 23/07/2018 21:42

I take the pregnacare whenever I remember :/ I try to take it with dinner as it really makes me gag in the mornings. But if I forgot the night before I'll take in the morning then again in the evening. I don't think there's anything that would cause harm taking it slightly randomly (I have a biomedical background) so I'm not too worried.

Can I ask some advice? I've got the harmony test on Wednesday and will be 11 weeks. I'd like to start telling people assuming it's ok but should I wait for the full blood results? Or just the scan? I know this is probably just a personal decision but what would you do?!

Fiep · 23/07/2018 21:43

Anyone else suffering with the heat? I'm sure it doesn't help our attempts to stay vaguely healthy. All I want is to sit around and eat ice cream.
@jeanzbeanz happy 12 weeks day! Me too today - and feeling much better too!

Baby160P · 23/07/2018 21:51

Thank you for the pregnacare advice! Xx

Baby160P · 23/07/2018 21:51

@Fiep I'm obsessed with icepoles

jeanzbeanz · 23/07/2018 22:00

@fiep yay for the 12wk milestone!

@Wames90 yesss it does feel like this hot weather will never end. I guess we will be glad summer is behind us when we are huge this winter 😊

Picklesandpies · 23/07/2018 22:55

@Bluelagoon25 I am eating absolute rubbish most days. Feel guilty too but honestly it's that or nothing. I've lost a few pounds so far - although I have a distinct bread tummy. On holiday visiting family this week and am basically surviving on crisps and plain rolls. I've tried to eat and main meal in the evening the last two days but it's made me feel so nauseous all evening that I just don't think I can keep doing that. There's talk of going out to a restaurant - just don't think I can cope with that right now! Shame as ordinarily I'd love it!

IndiX · 24/07/2018 06:18

@FrowningFlamingo it's completely up to you but when I had my DD the sonographer first told me at my 12 week scan all the measurements looked good but obviously I had to wait for the results for downsyndrome etc to come through. I told people straight after the scan and didn't wait for the results tbh but it's your decision. I got the letter about a week later saying that the chances were very low of any syndrome.
Your choice but I think I'll be telling people after my scan again this time.

Yes to eating unhealthily, usually I eat SO well and exercise at least 4-5 times a week. Even when pregnant with my DD I would excercise most days but this time I'm being sick most days and the nausea has really stepped up I just have no motivation. I'm going to try to do a gym session this morning as my sickness comes on in the afternoon. I know it'll make me feel a bit better and less guilty for the bad stuff I've been eating.

I have my booking in on Thursday and they will book my 12 week scan in then. I'm around 10/11 weeks now so I just want this scan to hurry up so I can tell people and not have to keep hiding the fact I want to be sick all the time!

Alicejj8x · 24/07/2018 06:21

Anyone else not weeing lots?
I'm nearly 10 weeks and don't feel the need to constantly wee I don't know if this will
Happen more when I get bigger but the symptoms all say frequent urination but i don't need to wee anymore than I did pre pregnancy? Anyone else the same?

Fiep · 24/07/2018 06:27

@Alicejj8x re peeing - me neither! Maybe we just have good bladders lol

@IndiX yes me too, used to be super fit and healthy and really struggled the past six weeks. Now I'm finally 12w the unhealthy cravings are going and I have felt a little more energetic the past few days. I think if it wasn't for the heat I might even do some exercise...

Picklesandpies · 24/07/2018 06:37

@Alicejj8x I'm not needing to wee lots either and have been meaning to ask this question! Is this your first baby? This is my third. I think I'm not for two reasons - a) I'm hardly drinking anything compared to normal as it makes me feel sick and b) I do have to go a couple of times in the night some nights but that's been ever since having babies so whilst it may seem a lot to someone who usually sleeps all the way through, to me it's normal.

Right, need to ask a slightly embarrassing question... after we have had sex, I can feel a hard lump come up which I know will be the top of my uterus but it comes up on the lower right of my stomach rather than centrally. Anyone else?

Picklesandpies · 24/07/2018 06:40

@Fiep Did you start to feel a lot better at 12 weeks? I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and so hoping for an improvement soon. I've been so close to taking meds (I have promethazine) but as I'm so close I'm trying to wait it out. Fantasising about wanting to go out for meals again!
