Welcome @SerialPlantKiller x

clairehr · 22/07/2018 19:28

Welcome @SerialPlantKiller and congrats! 10 weeks here too. How are you feeling?

purplechandelier · 22/07/2018 19:29

Does anyone have experience of going to the GP about really bad sickness? I have had an awful weekend of not being able to keep food or liquid down and feeling nauseous almost constantly, meaning I've not left the bed/couch. I was thinking it might be time to go to the doctor as have been pretty bad since 6 weeks (am now 11) but really concerned that they will say this is just normal... I am really struggling to cope.

On a brighter note, all these scan pics are lovely 😊

Susannach · 22/07/2018 19:31

@Pea1984 I’m so sorry. All the best to you for the future.

DragonFlew · 22/07/2018 19:34

@purplechandelier no that's not normal. Not being able to keep any food or liquid down is HG and you should seek medical advice.
I hope you feel better soon.

Alicejj8x · 22/07/2018 19:40

Does anyone else panic after having sex?

It just freaks me out I don't get cramps or anything after don't get me wrong but I always panic after wards and think hope beans ok in there lol

Lovely scan pics :)

DragonFlew · 22/07/2018 19:57

@Alicejj8x yes! 😂 I get so paranoid! I won't be once I'm a bit further along but in this early stage I get worried!

maxiflump1 · 22/07/2018 19:59

@Alicejj8x we haven't had sex since my BFP as I'm just too worried about something going wrong. My poor DH! But too be honest I've felt too sick and hot to get frisky anyway!! Hopefully after our scan on Friday I can relax a bit and those activities can resume!

Welcome to the group @SerialPlantKiller. We are a very chatty bunch Grin

@Pea1984 I'm so sorry to hear your news. Hope you have a good support network around you.

DragonFlew · 22/07/2018 20:13

@Alicejj8x I'm 9 weeks today! 😁

UndercoverLauren · 22/07/2018 20:13

@clairehr That's good clarification, thank you!

I'm avoiding sex too, it's probably fine, but I want to get the all clear from the 12 week scan. There are other things you can do though ;)

@SerialPlantKiller Welcome! I'm 10 weeks too.

lanalawr · 22/07/2018 20:13

@bubblybrit I've seen that you've ordered now but I loved my Jojo Maman Bebe over bump jeans. They're expensive usually but we live near the outlet so get seconds and last seasons things cheap (especially at sale times). They sometimes have them on the website too. I also had a trouser expander from there last time. It looked a bit like a tiny miniskirt but had extra buttons/holes so you buttoned your trousers into the hole on the expander and then the button on the expander into the hole on your trousers. Not sure I explained that well but it was brilliant for earlier on when I was too big for my trousers but a bit small for maternity things.

lanalawr · 22/07/2018 20:17

This is what I mean. I had it in black to blend with my work trousers as I hadn't told work at the time. I need to find and wash it so I can use it again now.

Alicejj8x · 22/07/2018 20:18

@DragonFlew
Ahh we're near each other I'm 9w4d 😬😊

DragonFlew · 22/07/2018 20:28

@Alicejj8x ah! Do you have a date for your 12 week scan yet?
I'm hoping to have my booking appt this/next week

bubblybrit · 22/07/2018 20:34

Thanks @lanalawr. This is my first so pretty clueless at the moment! I’ll try anything to be a bit more comfy. I love my jeans but so uncomfortable at the moment that I thought that I better do something 🙂!!

SerialPlantKiller · 22/07/2018 20:41

Thanks for the welcomes. Glad you're a chatty bunch. An active baby bus is good! @clairehr I'm feeling very tired and grumpy right now and have taken myself off to bed before I pick a fight with my DH. Generally not too bad, nauseous most mornings but that seems to be improving. Quite a tum on me already but much of it is ice-cream (and pretzels which I have been shovelling into my mouth at work).

Alicejj8x · 22/07/2018 21:05

@DragonFlew
I've got my Midwife appointment tmo morning and I will be getting a number to ring up and book :) they said it can be anytime between 12-14 weeks for scan so hopefully it won't be to busy and I can get one in the next few weeks :)

twiglet · 22/07/2018 21:51

I've been way too rubbish to even consider sex, the low blood pressure light-headedness and dizzyness definate mood killer that with neasea and tiredness!

Baby160P · 22/07/2018 22:25

@Pea1984 sorry to hear your news xx

Wames90 · 23/07/2018 07:16

Just catching up after working all weekend, I’m hoping the nausea and vomiting is starting to settle for the people struggling!
I’m so sorry for your loss @Pea and I’m glad everything was okay on your scan @clarehr.
I hope all of the scans planned for this week go well!

MrsY87 · 23/07/2018 07:40

Just catching up after being at my in laws all weekend.

Sorry for your loss @Pea1984 hope you are taking care of yourself.

Glad to hear of positive scans for others and hope todays scans go well for everyone too.

I've got my initial mw appointment today, booking appointment on Friday and then scan next Tuesday. Think I'm about 10w now and I'm definitely starting to show.

Told my in laws and BIL/SILs at the weekend and they were all very excited for us but also in shock that it's twins. I think the realisation of twins has also started to set in for us now we've told family and I had a bit of a freak out about how we are going to cope last night as DS has been really difficult all weekend and DD has had a sickness bug so I think I'm just feeling slightly overwhelmed at how we will cope adding another 2 into the mix, particularly having 3 under 18m. My DH works long hours so it will largely be down to me during the week but I'm sure we'll get throughout, life throws you curve balls sometimes and you just have to deal with them I suppose.

Nausea and wretching still pretty bad but having periods I'm feeling better so hoping it's starting to lift. Hope others are starting to have periods of feeling a bit more normal too.

Wames90 · 23/07/2018 08:01

@MrsY87 I think it’s normal to have some moments of panic, it’s going to be different and hard but you’ll manage without remembering any different before you know it! You’ll find your own routines for everything and everything else will click into place. It’s probably been a shock this weekend because you’ve shared your news with family and so you’ve spoken about it more.
I’m glad you’re getting periods of feeling better! Hopefully it’s all starting to settle for you now. I hope the overwhelming feeling settles as the weeks go on x
