I stupidly had a hot bath last night, and spent ages worrying, but pregnancy symptoms are in full swing today so touchwood it's all okay.
I won't be doing that again though, it's not worth the panic Shock

Pea1984 · 22/07/2018 16:58

Scan didn’t go well and have had a missed miscarriage. Good luck to you all and wishing you all healthy pregnancies.

DragonFlew · 22/07/2018 17:02

@Pea1984 so sorry to hear this xx

UndercoverLauren · 22/07/2018 17:03

@Pea1984 I'm so sorry.

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/07/2018 17:07

So sorry pea Sad take care of yourself xx

I'm rough clairehr! Had a few days of feeling ok ish this week (just mild nausea) but it's been back with a vengeance this weekend, lots of heaving and bile type sick. Disgusting. 9 weeks Tuesday though and 9-10 were worst for me with DS so hoping in less than 2 weeks I'll be feeling better. Here's hoping eh!

Fiep · 22/07/2018 17:11

@ UndercoverLauren are you not supposed to have hot baths? I was literally just thinking I fancy one after getting a little chilly rowing on the river!

bubblybrit · 22/07/2018 17:13

@DragonFlew. I ordered from Next and H&M for jeans and Wallis for my jumpsuit. Hopefully they arrive middle of next week!

bubblybrit · 22/07/2018 17:15

So sorry @Pea1984. Very sad to hear this. Look after yourself xx

Oh @Pea1984 I'm so very sorry for your loss. Thinking of you xx

Since2016 · 22/07/2018 17:25

@clairehr wonderful news re scan!! I've had a few days of nausea subsiding (after a v rough week) although I'm guessing with it set to be 32 next week that I will be ill again no doubt.

@Fiep I would LOVE to feel cold. There is NO air in london.

Fredthespider · 22/07/2018 17:25

@Pea1984 so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself Flowers x

@Fiep the guidance is very mixed on hot baths/saunas etc. Some say it's ok, others say it's dangerous particularly in the first 12 weeks. Personally I can't cope with the heat so I'm finding cooler baths better. The last time I got in a warm bath I had to get out to throw up!

UndercoverLauren · 22/07/2018 17:28

@Fiep There's nothing on the NHS website saying you shouldn't (the only source I trust), although it says you shouldn't go in hot tubs and jacuzzis as they can make you overheat.
Basically I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming hot baths aren't a great idea, although warm baths are okay.
Also there's the whole thing about a hot bath and a load of gin, although that may be an old wives tale.
On the other hand, if they were that terrible, the NHS would be making it very clear. That was kind of what I was thinking when I got in the bath last night (my plumbing was playing up so it ended up hotter than normal).
I'm not medically trained though, so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Fiep · 22/07/2018 17:33

@Pea1984 Just saw your post - so so sorry 😢

Thanks everyone for the bath advice. I think it's easy to freak out too much - I remember in the first few weeks I panicked because I had gone on a bike ride and started to bleed soon after. I felt so guilty and asked the doc whether it was because of going for a bike ride and whether I was responsible for a miscarriage by being irresponsible. She (South African, very straight-talking) said "Look if it was that easy to end a pregnancy you'd see a lot of women on bicycles globally". And bit macabre but it did make me feel better. Particularly because bub was fine. Baths are probably similar?

UndercoverLauren · 22/07/2018 17:42

@Fiep That doctor has a good way of seeing it XD It's easy to overthink things and get anxious though, especially this early on.

clairehr · 22/07/2018 17:57

@Pea1984 So so sorry to hear that! Sending you all the best, look after yourself, let others look after you too.

clairehr · 22/07/2018 18:01

Re: Bath times.

I work in a spa, and we always always always advise pregnant women to speak to their midwives before using the heated facilities (including the spa pool). It's because it can affect blood pressure and core temperature if too hot and if you already suffer with bp issued it can cause further problems (We've had so many ladies faint who've ignored the warning 😔). Everyone is different though, so what's right for one may not be for another. I'd just suggest you speak to a midwife first about your individual case 😊

maxiflump1 · 22/07/2018 18:11

So sorry @Pea1984. I've been there and there are no words anyone can say. Best of luck to you for the future ThanksThanks
