Erm i get my big toe waxed when i get my legs done.
Left to run free, i would be a right cave woman ...but have got a good head of hair, so would happy it this way round...

MotherofZ · 27/06/2007 11:23

Yes, I remember last time when I started having contractions and was told to go into the mat uni, all I could think about was 'Oh no...I haven't shaved my legs!'

Neuro · 27/06/2007 11:25

Bettymama i like people staring at my chest now i've got one. Feel all busty and wanton!
I LOVE BEING PREGNANT
RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Sorry, over excited today....failing to do any work really

suey2 · 27/06/2007 11:29

Yes, i have pathetic thin hair usually, but am proud to be able to wear a hairgrip and not have it slide out! Bit alarmed about the downy hair on my belly. And yes, my brazilian last week was a lot sorer than usual: but i feel lucky complared with my indian pal whose bikini line goes down to her knee!

macdoodle · 27/06/2007 11:45

Toe curling that was - I think more the lack of lots of anti inflammatories that I usually take .....feeling better but off to bed for few hours cannot believe how rough this UTI has made me feel and cannot believe I didn't realise I had one (am NOT going to tell you what I do for a living )....

skidaddle · 27/06/2007 11:49

awen re lady garden - sorry if this is TMI but last time round I just got dp to do it for me - was great fun

and I'm not shocked at you having hairy toes (I do too) just that you bother shaving them!!!

bettymama - eeeww your boss sounds very pervy, never mind blessing him!

skidaddle · 27/06/2007 11:50

macdoodle - what does that mean????!!! I am imagining all sorts!!

mimicakey · 27/06/2007 11:55

Hey, we're busy today!

I just ordered one of those bump bands from JoJomamanblah... (side issue what a stupid name for a shop?!) and it has buttons - one of the other MNers recommended it. I'm getting a bump but think I'd still feel a bit daft getting maternity trousers so early on (16wks, first pg). awen I'll test is out with loose trousers and let you know how they look!

Housemum it embarrasses them into not doing it again!

macdoodle · 27/06/2007 11:57

No big secret skidaddle just makes me pretty identifiable in RL ...lets just say I am in the medical field I deal with lots of PG ladies and I really should have known better

skidaddle · 27/06/2007 12:01

Oh right, my imagination can stop running wild then!!

MamaMaiasaura · 27/06/2007 12:12

lol hairy monster buddy

Mimi - ooo yes please test the band for me Got a lovely maternity skirt from Dorothy Perkins. Elastic top and flowy to knees. Will last through I hope.

Skidaddle.. just imaging my dp being let loose with veet down there is making my toes curl.

Neuro - Hate people looking at my boobs but they have been mammoth since ds. Am still jamming them into my regular underwired bras. Leaving it till I absolutely 'have' to change them.

peanutbutter · 27/06/2007 12:26

i'm another hairy mary - get my bikini and underarms waxed (no brazilian though, just a nice conservative tidy up) and have to epilate my big toes along with my legs. Dh calls me hobbit feet

lovely scan pic awen!

suey2 · 27/06/2007 12:33

what is RL?

MamaMaiasaura · 27/06/2007 12:41

suey - real life (altho I often wonder what that is )

Housemum · 27/06/2007 12:44

RL = Real Life

As for the hairy bits - if you can still reach your legs, epilators don't hurt so much if you have a TENS machine on in labour! (DD took a long time arriving, I was at home and bored and curious!)

Reagrding lady gardens, it can be fun if DP does it for you... !!

becklespeckle · 27/06/2007 13:02

I too have hairy big toes (and shave them) . Sorted my own ladygarden out when having DSs, couldn't see though so no idea what it looked like! Faaaar to chicken for a wax though!
Well today my biggest pair of jeans are too small. They are lovely, comfy and stretchy but after 5 minutes of wearing them I started getting a sore tum and had to undo them, zip too! I am 14 weeks tomorrow and feel a bit daft going into maternity stuff already but think I may have no choice.

MamaMaiasaura · 27/06/2007 13:06

beckle - I may be joining you soon too. Thinking a nice pair of jeans from DP's

MotherofZ · 27/06/2007 13:11

Ohhh - what's wrong with wearing maternity trousers now?? I started this week (am 13 weeks pregnant)

MamaMaiasaura · 27/06/2007 13:13

nothing. With ds1 tho I stayed in normal clothes for longer. My body seems to be going 'PING' been here before!

Bouncingturtle · 27/06/2007 13:15

DH does my fanjo pruning
My tummy feels hard!!!

becklespeckle · 27/06/2007 13:27

Think I managed to hold out until 16 weeks with DS2 for maternity stuff - lived in t-shirt dresses during the 'too-many-pies' stage!
My tummy is hard now (more so in the evenings) but has a layer of extra skin on the top of it, am hoping that my body decides to use that nice stretchy skin when it gets bigger instead of stretching the okay stuff!
I am not certain it is baby but sometimes when I sit down or lie down after being busy the inside of my tummy feels all quivery low down. Am sure it is not wind but don't know if I am just imagining it because I want to feel it! I am off to see the MW tomorrow morning to see if they can find a heartbeat, they are not keen on doing it but I just feel I need a bit of reassurance that tadpole is still okay (I lost one between 12 and 13 weeks and didn't find out for a while - hence the paranoia)

tabimum · 27/06/2007 13:31

Bespeckle - am due same day as you, and I wore a pair of maternity jeans at the weekend. Think it was because I had just bought them, and my usual ones were feeling a bit tight..and they looked so nice and comfy with their elasticated top...so you are not alone with your maternity wear! Can still fit comfortably into work suit trousers, so havent had to resort to wearing maternity stuff to work yet. Have already put on about 6lbs and cant stop eating. Put on HUGE amount of weight with DD and was determined for that not happen again (took forever to shift afterwards)...but looks like it might be happening again!

becklespeckle · 27/06/2007 13:43

Lucky you Tabimum still getting into your work trousers! It will be a relief to go into maternity TBH as I look terrible in everything at the mo, buttons undone and tops not long enough anymore (due to much larger boobs) to cover that up! Am just waiting for the Next sale in a couple of weeks to see if I can get a couple of pairs of maternity jeans and maybe some smock type tops, I keep telling myself I am too tight to pay full price but really I am just scared of jinxing things! I need to get some maternity stuff for work, my trousers are held up with a safety pin!

suey2 · 27/06/2007 14:08

I decided to go comfy early as i bend over patients all day. Still in pre-preg skirts, but have a selection of trousers and long tops. (i am 5'10" and now 32H so it was getting a little gappy)
I don't think there is any shame in getting comfy clothes early- I have been really bloated which hasn't helped much. Only put on 2 LBs so don't think i am over caning it- apart from the occasional pork pie!

Housemum · 27/06/2007 14:21

Suey - 2lbs here too, but can only fit one pair of trousers - have told myself I'll wait until scan tomorrow then go into maternity stuff (did wear some maternity cropped trousers the other week when really nice weather and mine didn't fit)
