So sorry to hear your news @SuperSharpShooter82. Sad Take care of yourself.

@ALRM sounds like we have had similar experiences, I was referred for an early scan with concerns over whether it could be an ectopic pregnancy as I had been having a lot of side pain and dizziness. We were also very fortunate that it was in the right place and we saw a flickering heartbeat. The relief is indescribable. Hopefully it will be smoother sailing from now.

Really sorry for all those of you struggling with the heat but also glad to hear I'm not the only one! I'm dreading the work event I have today, slept terribly last night as it was so hot and I woke at 3am feeling sick with it. Still, at least it gets it out of the way. I'm just trying to hydrate as much as I can before we leave!

If I have a long day on my feet I've found in the evenings I've been getting really intense pain near my pelvis on one side whenever I stretch or sneeze or get up quickly. I'm assuming it's ligament pain or some such as it's a kind of burning, stabbing feeling that passes quite quickly and only happens if I've been on my feet lots or very active during a day. Bloody hurts though and I wasn't expecting that to start so early.

I'm feeling a bit worried today, my boobs have stopped hurting and my sickness has all but disappeared (I actually have an appetite back!) Don't get me wrong, it's nice not to feel crap and my sympathies are very much with those of you feeling bad, but I'm also worried that's a sign something could be wrong, although I know they say hormones and symptoms fluctuate etc. It's just all such a worry. I thought my symptoms would be ramping up by now (7+5) but if anything they're easing off. Confused

Sorry, I appear to have written a novel!! Blush

MistakenHoliday · 25/07/2018 11:01

Just waiting for my booking in appointment with the midwife!

@Murphyrocks good luck with the scan - I hope it goes well!

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 11:10

Thanks @MistakenHoliday, hope all goes well for you too!

@toastfiend if it makes you feel any better last time my morning sickness peaked about 7-7 1/2 weeks and was gone a little after 10, resulting in healthy ds, and not wanting jinx it but I do feel marginally less sick over the last couple of days so might be the same again. The timings do vary so much!

Also trigger warning for sickness but I need to share this story, I've been telling dh for weeks that I can't open the fridge without wanting to vomit, been having to hold my breath whenever I need to go in there, tried to have some philadelphia just now it was literally full of mould right to the lid 🤢 That would explain it!

hamandpease · 25/07/2018 11:29

My sickness has really slowed down this week. I'm not worried as the scan went v well but it's interesting. I'm 8+6 today, maybe it won't come back!

Wineandchoccy · 25/07/2018 11:45

My sickness is a lot better as well I’m still shattered but hoping the iron tablets will help that.

wordsmithereens · 25/07/2018 12:37

@murphyrocks Oh God, how rank. Shock I managed to get the DH to do a fridge clearout the other day as I couldn't face it. But of course he left the half-eaten avocado that's been in there for weeks now so it looks at me every time I open the door. How on earth do they not notice? Confused

Angelmiracle · 25/07/2018 12:39

Ladies you'll never believe my booking in appointment letter came in today (I'm 5+3) for 5th October!!!! I'll be 16 weeks along. What is wrong with these people 😤

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 12:49

@wordsmithereens I know right?! Dh is sooo not a typical man in the vast majority of ways, but his 'man looking' is just insane! He's 'cleared out' the fridge at least twice and somehow missed the new species growing in the philly?!

@Angelmiracle that's crazy nuts! Whereabouts are you?! They insist on you coming in within 6 weeks here! Surely your first scan will be before then?!

wordsmithereens · 25/07/2018 13:01

@murphyrocks Haha 'man looking', I love that. Same here, DH is far from stereotypically male, but when it comes to household stuff it's like he's got limited pockets of awareness. shrug

@angelmiracle - that has to be an admin error, surely?! I'd definitely follow that one up if I were you...

RachaelT · 25/07/2018 13:08

I just nearly cried at not being able to decide which cake I wanted at the cafe! And again thinking I might have made the wrong choice... WTF is wrong with me! Can't wait for 2nd trimester - apparently that's the easy one?!?

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 13:24

@RachaelT I went and got myself sushi for lunch (fresh handmade today, nice and safe!) and got home then realised I forgot the wasabi. Didn't cry but it was a close run thing! Yes 2nd trimester was amazing for me last time, problem free, full of energy, felt great! Can't wait...

hamandpease · 25/07/2018 13:45

@Angelmiracle that had to be an admin error!!

Angelmiracle · 25/07/2018 13:58

I do not know what happened exactly! Was passed through to 3 different people but ended up on with the community midwife and she was lovely rang me back with a new appointment! 4th Sept thank goodness I'll be 11+2.

Will have a chat with DH tonight about an early scan. I feel totally fine and could probably wait to 11 weeks but because my sis is visiting from oz if I had a scan pic I could tell family sooner. Who knows! She didn't tell me until she was 12 weeks along which rather annoyed me. I know it's petty but I don't feel I should tell her any earlier. With DS I told her when I was 9 weeks.

Shampooeeee · 25/07/2018 14:00

@murphyrocks I always ask DH if he's had a proper look or a boy look!

Oh the emotions today, I just did full on ugly crying because someone was rude to me at work (via email, thankfully, not in person). I would normally shrug it off and make a cup of tea but I just couldn't stop sobbing. WTF!

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 14:04

"There's a rate in mi kitchen what am I gonna do?" Seriously. Just saw a rat run over the top of ds's playbox. Nearly had a heart attack! Cat brings in stuff pretty regularly but not a rat for years! No idea how to deal, surely it can't be good having something like that around in early pregnancy?! Tried getting it out but failed spectacularly 😭

Velcro88 · 25/07/2018 14:05

On the sickness/nausea front I'm on the same boat @ladycarlotta - not too much actual vom, just intense nausea the rest of the time! It does fluctuate a bit these days (I'm 8+3) and actually on Sunday I had a day with energy and no nausea at all. Was a godsend! I wonder if it's tied up with fatigue for me - the weeks at work are exhausting and I'm finding I need to at least have a lie down in a dark room when I'm home, if not nap! I'm hopeful it's going to all pass nice and early for us all!

Got my scan date through for 21st August. Feels like an age away! I'm trying not to book a private scan, but it's difficult feeling so pants all the time with nothing to show for it!

I can't remember who said it but I'm so tempted to get a Doppler! How far along do you have to be before you can start picking up a heartbeat on one of those I wonder..? That would help my emotional well-being I think!!

Velcro88 · 25/07/2018 14:08

@Murphyrocks that's horrible!! Will it find its own way out of an open door if you can tempt it out with something tasty? Oh my!

Velcro88 · 25/07/2018 14:09

@Sarahandduckarehigh re the Doppler! 🙂

peonylover22 · 25/07/2018 14:09

Murphy your cat has brought you a present! To keep your strength up during the first trimester.

But this reminds me of the Christmas rat when I was heavily pregnant with DS. Cats brought us a festive gift, came downstairs to find my husband ON the dining table shouting as the cats and rat did laps of the table. I eventually chased into a shoe whilst armed with a poker and made husband take it down the road in the shoe to release.

Is there any one to help with rat catching? Chances of the cat dealing with it? You have my sympathies!

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 14:10

@Velcro88 I've left the back door open in hopes it will make its own way out but I've got my scan in a couple of hours so will have to close it then! Just saw it running under the dining table shudder I may have to burn the house down!

MoosterTheMoose · 25/07/2018 14:14

well, I have just spent the last 2 hours asleep in my office at work. I meant to have a 10 minute nap to try to get through the afternoon, and now I am feeling guilty and particularly useless! especially since I skived a lunchtime bodypump class to do it. arrrrrgh.

velcro They picked up a heartbeat with an external scan on me at 6weeks this time - I'm guessing a home doppler might not be quite as effective, but maybe nearly?

Had my booking in appointment this morning (see, I really have had a sepctacularly unproductive working day!) and I'm classed as high risk (for stupid minor tiny things) so consultant led. I'm relieved actually as I was consultant led last time and so got loads of extra appts and scans etc. I don't think this is the right reaction!

MoosterTheMoose · 25/07/2018 14:17

Alos, I wanted to ask whether anyone had experience of a midwife led unit for birth? At present because high risk would have to be labour ward for me, but that might change and there's a new birthing centre attached to my hospital and they are really pushing 2nd timers to go for that or a home birth. I'm not that keen, as really really want to make a successful case for an epidural this time, but midwife suggested today that 2nd births so much quicker that there's no point.... any thoughts?

MoosterTheMoose · 25/07/2018 14:17

Not Alos, also!

hamandpease · 25/07/2018 14:37

@Murphyrocks I want sushi!! I've read so many different pieces of advice, are you eating sashimi? CakeCakeCake
