@jenlou1992 I have been having them too and worried when I go toilet ! Did some research I think it is normal unless it is really painful. Mine was like twinges

Jenlou1992 · 24/07/2018 21:54

I feel I can't describe them because I'm so paranoid I feel I am not accurately describing them if that makes sense . They are like uncomfortable twinges but are a bit more frequent at the moment .

wordsmithereens · 24/07/2018 22:45

@mostimproved Withdrawal from antidepressants is really challenging, and I can only imagine it must be more so while your hormones are doing a dance. Brain zaps are the worst! If it's any consolation, having been through the process a couple of times, it does all eventually go.

I found giving myself permission to feel whatever I was feeling, while reminding myself that the feelings would pass and were probably in large part withdrawal related, really helpful. (If you're open to the idea of mindfulness at all, it can be really great for this.) Also finding it useful for any pregnancy-related worries which pop up so far.

Wishing you the best of luck and staying power, and a positive scan!

wordsmithereens · 24/07/2018 22:50

@Jenlou1992 Also have had those off and on and it freaked me a little until googling revealed that it seems to be quite a common thing in the first trimester. But if it's really panicking you, could you check in with your GP?

Jenlou1992 · 24/07/2018 22:59

wordsmithereens thanks I have read up too and it does sound normal . I had a night mare last night that I miscarried and it has just been a bad day since that . It's really got me upset . I'm just being over sensitive I think .

wordsmithereens · 24/07/2018 23:07

@Jenlou1992 I don't think that makes you oversensitive, of course you're concerned for your baby's wellbeing, especially with a nightmare like that. (They can really carry into our waking hours sometimes!) I hope you can be kind to yourself and tomorrow is a bit easier on you. :)

Angelmiracle · 24/07/2018 23:08

@ALRM so glad to hear you're ok.

@TheWanderlust @mostimproved poor DH and DM are getting the rough side of me I'm so snappy and hormonal. I just apologise and say it'll pass soon 🙈

Felt great this morning. Then got worried 😐 But dont realise how sore boobs are until bra comes off. And diarrhoea tonight. All good 😂

Angelmiracle · 24/07/2018 23:14

@Jenlou1992 I'm so sorry you feel so anxious! What a horrible dream. I had cramping in uterus on Sunday it nearly got me in tears panicking about it. But was gone yesterday. I do feel ovary pain and twinges similar to ovulation at the minute also. Hoping it's all normal.

Newbie2703 · 25/07/2018 06:14

@jenlou1992 mine come and go. O goes you could chat to your go if your really worried. Mine seem to have stopped now didn't have them yesterday. They seemed to happen more when laying down at night for me. Hopefully they are just growing pains !

TheOneWithTheBaby · 25/07/2018 06:41

I am getting cramping quite regularly, I read it's quite normal but I do worry about it too.

Worst nights sleep. It was so hot I actually started to feel ill, despite a cold towel and fan. In the end I went to the living room which was slightly colder but not much. Fell asleep on sofa and now got a stiff neck. I love summer, but right now it's really effecting me.

Telling my parents tomorrow, finding it really hard to keep it. It's my mum's birthday so I wanted to wait until then. We've decided not to tell anyone else till later though.

orangefolly · 25/07/2018 07:40

Oh god yes the heat @theonewiththebaby - I feel so sweaty at the moment! I'm sure being pregnant makes it worse even though there is no big baby bump to heat me up yet!

Is anyone else struggling with anxiety? I just constantly think I'm going to get to 7 week scan and it will all have gone wrong. In a total panic whenever I don't feel sick (which is a lot of the time). I know I am only 5+4 and I need to chill out but I'm struggling.

TheOneWithTheBaby · 25/07/2018 07:50

@orangefolly, I thought I was melting last night. I had a fan and wet towels and I still felt sick. Eventually managed some sleep but not much.

I suffer from anxiety. Never got it officially diagnosed but I definitely know. It's usually related to health and death so not knowing what's going on on the inside now is a challenge for me. I heard pregnancy and hormones can make it worse. I have considered talking to the midwife about it when seeing her

ladycarlotta · 25/07/2018 07:53

@theonewiththebaby I LOVE your username! That is all.

@orangefolly yeah, it's so hard waiting it out, not knowing what's going on in there, when there is so little you can do. At the moment I can accept that I'm pregnant but not quite that I'm going to have a baby. Terrified that there'll be no heartbeat at the next scan, but there is just nothing any of us can do except take care of ourselves and try to stay sane. Sorry, that's not very reassuring!

ladycarlotta · 25/07/2018 07:55

My nausea is crazy. I honestly don't know how I'll handle it for another 4 weeks. I tend not to throw up, so perhaps that's why I'm not actively doing so even now, but I feel absolutely dreadful all the time. I'm anxious at the thought of even leave the house. I bought some sea bands yesterday but they don't seem to be doing anything...

TheOneWithTheBaby · 25/07/2018 08:05

@ladycarlotta

Thanks, definitely Friends themed username Grin

I'm sorry to hear about your nausea. How many weeks are you now? I felt really ill last week when I was only four weeks, butbetter this week. Probably because I am at home.
I found dry biscuits helped a bit. Rich tea being my favourite. And big meals made it worse.

Wineandchoccy · 25/07/2018 08:09

orangefolly yes the anxiety is horrible even though I had a reassurance scan last week I’m still worrying. It doesn’t help I have had a mmc before but I do feel pregnant so I have to believe that it will be ok.
Apart from the last few weeks of pregnancy these 1st 12 weeks are the longest ever.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 25/07/2018 08:14

@ladycarlotta don't bank in it going at 12 weeks, sadly mine started easing about 16 weeks last time and was gone by 18, but know others who had it the whole way through!

Biscuits and Decaf tea all the way to settle everything for me. Usually ginger nuts dunked, well just because! I seem to feel OK when I am eating/have just eaten - it's the rest of the time which is an issue, which isn't good as I could stand to lose weight due to morning sickness not gain it!!!

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 08:23

@ladycarlotta I know what you mean, 8 weeks today and the sickness is miserable! I got some sea bands yesterday too though and am finding they're taking the edge off. Have you definitely got them in the right place and tight enough? Not that comfortable but I'll take the discomfort over the nausea! I think they're only found to work in about 70% of cases though so maybe you're just one of the unlucky ones :(

Got my viability scan this afternoon, bricking it...

puravida31 · 25/07/2018 08:49

Sorry for those struggling with sickness, I’ve found breadsticks are helping settle my stomach, but then my life has become all about the beige plain foods!

Good luck for the scan today @murphyrocks!

Sarahandduckarehigh · 25/07/2018 08:50

Hello everyone.

@ALRM great to hear all looks well for you.

Sorry for those suffering anxiety and pains, and commiserations to all of us for the heat. I am sleeping dreadfully.

On the anxiety, I know it's not for everyone (and it doesn't work this early on) but last time around I found a Doppler really helped me. I would check every day or two and once I had found the heartbeat I would relax. Unfortunately my Doppler is in an ikea bag marked "pregnancy" in my in-laws loft, so I can't retrieve it until we tell them. But the plan is to tell them on Saturday after the reassurance scan that morning if all is well. We'll be 8 weeks so hopefully will be able to see a little tadpole and a heartbeat. I'm really looking forward to it - this won't feel real until I see a heartbeat - but am super apprehensive at the same time.

Hope you all have a good day. Nausea is worse than usual for me today, so am crossing my fingers I don't have to run to the loo at work! I run a team of 15 and I really don't want them to find out until later as I know the uncertainty will be unsettling for them.

Sarahandduckarehigh · 25/07/2018 08:51

@Murphyrocks good luck for the scan! X

Marmite2018 · 25/07/2018 09:27

@Murphyrocks good luck for the scan, @ALRM glad everything is looking okay!

I am currently on holiday in Italy! I know lots of you are suffering with the heat at home so apols but I just slept a full night with air con in a dark room; I feel SO much better. Perhaps when it gets cooler we will feel better? I had been suffering a lot!

My nausea isn't as bad today, although I've not done much yet. Yesterday I threw up whilst on the airport bus BlushBlush that was awkward!!! I've also had cramping the last two days. Really low down cramps. Can't work out if it's digestive related or uterus related!!

TheWanderlust · 25/07/2018 10:11

@Murphyrocks I'm 8 weeks today too! Good luck for your scan. I'm considering trying to get one booked for next week if I can just for some peace of mind.

Murphyrocks · 25/07/2018 10:13

Thanks for the good vibes everyone! @TheWanderlust although I'm really nervous about this afternoon I'd be more nervous waiting another 4 weeks for my dating scan on the 22nd, drove myself mad last time so trying to do better this time!

TheWanderlust · 25/07/2018 10:17

Sending good vibes your way @Murphyrocks

We've had a 2 week holiday to try and take my mind off things but it's really creeping in as I think about going back to work on Monday. Hoping I can find a scan place fairly locally.
