Into months 7 and 8 of our pregnancies now.. this will most likely be our last 'pregnant' thread before we all have our babies!!

How did we get here? Feels like just yesterday we were waving hello from the TTC boards.

If anyone new would like to join please do, we also have a very busy (private) Facebook group for everyone due in August 2018.

Hello ladies, due tomorrow and so ready for this baby!!
Got one DS who is 4 and eager to meet his little sister x

BeesKnees9 · 04/08/2018 11:23

Hi everyone, lovely reading so many updates - congratulations @caffeinedragon, @youcantbesirius and @peregrane on your babies I hope you are all doing well!

How has everyone else been doing? @gem123 it must be your last week at work next week as it's mine too! I can't bloody wait, the last three weeks have been exhausting. Loving your new nursery too and admiring your changing station Grin

@bertiebotts that sounds so annoying, have you decided on/ordered/bought an alternative car seat now?

@MamofFrankie how many weeks are you now? I was told at a birthing class to go on all fours and lean over a beanbag/stack of pillows making a hole for the bump to encourage baby to shift.. rubbish explanation but maybe worth a google if you haven't tried that position yet?

I fell out of bed on Friday night (idiot), I sort of tipped off the edge as for the first time i fell asleep without a pillow between my knees/under the bump! Gave myself a proper shock and managed to bash my head and arm on the side table and got stuck between the bed and wall bump down :( luckily baby seems absolutely fine as my knees and face took most of the impact but OWWWW - I think i have pulled muscles everywhere!! Baby is now engaged and measuring about 2 weeks ahead (I am 37 weeks on Monday) so hoping he stays put for a bit so I can enjoy some maternity leave!

I also have an appointment with the anaesthetist next week which I apparently should have had weeks ago but no one told me/I never got an appointment in the post! It's because I had a reaction (nothing major but a reaction none the less) to a general anaesthetic a few years ago. If anyone else was referred let me know what happened in the appointment!

GKite · 04/08/2018 11:26

@beesknees9
I had an appointment to see them last month, it was just to discuss what would happen within this labour. I've been told I may need to be put under because I'm at risk of an even higher PPH than my previous labours 😬
That was it really. I was told they make check your back to see if they can site a spinal/epidural but I didn't have that x

MamOfFrankie · 04/08/2018 11:55

@BeesKnees9 38+4 now. Tinker gave us the run around on Wednesday night / early hours of yesterday. Started having pains at midnight, which got more and more regular until they were every 2 minutes and lasting 45 seconds. Went in to hospital and they said I was 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. Got home and it stopped. Not a sausage since. Spent all of yesterday in a big huff pit refusing to interact with anyone.

Feeling a bit more chilled about it all today, but it was incredibly frustrating.

MamOfFrankie · 04/08/2018 11:56

And to top it all off I now have thrush!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 04/08/2018 11:57

@MamOfFrankie I sympathise, had contractions last night bad enough to use the tens machine, then nothing! Feeling huge and fed up today, but only 38w.

Hjkillas · 04/08/2018 12:33

I had false labour last week and now I get the odd Braxton Hicks that will wake me up/ take my breath away but other than that she seems more than happy in there. Here's to hoping I'll be the very small percentage that have their baby on the due date twiddles thumbs

peterpanwendy · 04/08/2018 13:10

@MamOfFrankie ohh hope things pick up for you again soon! :(

@Hjkillas I'm also hoping I'm one of those tiny tiny few that give birth on their due dates, I'm due on the bank holiday weekend which would be such a good birthday for her!

Nesting in full swing today, done some random jobs such as clean out my fridge and prune my tomato plant 😂

I was sent for a presentation scan yesterday at 36+6 and they've confirmed baby is breech 😫 so I have to go back on Tuesday for a full detailed scan then if everything seems ok they will try to turn him by ECV on Wednesday. I really really really don't want a section but it's looking like something I might have to come to terms with now, if the ECV isn't successful. Anyone had any experience (food or bad) of an ECV?

WaitingforToto · 04/08/2018 14:44

*good or bad

Emmasmum2013 · 04/08/2018 16:01

I had like a crazy cramp in my belly the other day. I think it started out as a Braxton Hicks because my belly all went rock hard. And then it softened a bit but the left side of the bump was still in agony. I couldn't move!! I rang the delivery suite being paranoid thinking it was something really untoward. Turns out it was just a bad spasm. It took a good while to feel back to normal but it was a relief!

I've been so tired since I finished work. I was expecting to get so much done and I do one thing and then need a lie down! Can't wait to have some energy back and be able to do things like walk up the stairs without needing a rest at the top! 😂

Emmasmum2013 · 04/08/2018 16:03

Also feel like I'm back at first trimester where I go to the toilet and examine the toilet paper for and traces of blood or anything after wiping. If I could just have some sign of labour i would be so happy.

BeesKnees9 · 04/08/2018 18:52

@Gkite thanks for the info Smile I feel like you have a much better reason to see them than me that sounds much more serious.

Oh wow @mamoffrankie I would be a bit peed off too, fingers crossed next time is the real deal (and same to you @hjkillas and @thegrumpysquirrel!)

@Emmasmum2013 ooo that sounds odd, I wonder what brought that on? Are you almost at your due date? I have a loooooong list of little jobs to do when I start maternity leave too, I thought it would be a good idea to keep myself busy and now I doubt I will get anything done really.

Gem173 · 04/08/2018 20:59

@BeesKnees9 yep my last week this week coming! Can’t wait!
And thankyou I love the room it’s so cosy :)
@Emmasmum @HJkillas @TheGrumpysquirrel that must have been so annoying to have false starts like that! I’ve been achey with a serious backache for days now :(
Cannot be f*** to do anything not even clean!
@waitingfortoto that must be so scary! If I had to have an csection because of issues then I’d want to deal with it whilst in labour as I’m sure it would be better than suffering pain. But to have a c sec planned would scare me more as I would have a planned day to be nervous about.

Gem173 · 04/08/2018 22:39

Guys I’ve been having lots of yellow discharge recently. And I’ve just been to the toilet and on my pad it’s covered in yellow but it’s not gooey looks like it’s dried into the pad now. I just wiped and I had a lot of yellow snot like consistency discharge on the tissue. Is this my mucous plug coming away or is it just normal ? I haven’t had this much discharge until recent, also have had the runs like every day, really sorry for tmi!

I have a photo of the mucous but won’t share unless everyone’s okay with it xx

Gem173 · 04/08/2018 22:40

After looking at it further and researching, my mucous does not have blood or streaks of blood in and doesn’t quite look like some others online. Maybe I’m just getting my hopes up that something will happen soon!

BertieBotts · 04/08/2018 22:55

I'm not entirely sure Blush I had to do a properly annoying rant over email which probably made me look insane to get them to agree to actually exchange it and they agreed, so I've requested an exchange on the returns form but I haven't heard back from them yet - they said it could take up to 2 weeks. We sent it off a week ago. I paid through Paypal, so hopefully I'll have some comeback if it doesn't work but it will be really annoying.

So I'm just waiting for a response and hoping baby doesn't arrive in the meantime Confused The plan is if he DOES arrive then I will send DH to the nearest actual RL baby shop which stocks the seat we wanted and he will pick one up from there and we'll send yet another email to the company simply asking for the store credit back instead, and buy something else - maybe put it towards the next stage car seat or a high chair or something.

I'm having absolutely no contractions or show or anything so I guess labour is quite far off. Baby seems happily wedged up under my ribs as well so I think he's still not engaged.

It is still stupidly hot here and not showing any signs of cooling down. We don't even get a breeze from opening the windows/doors until about 11.30 at night and it is reaching 35-40 during the days. Luckily as we're on the fourth floor I've taken to just leaving the balcony door open all night - nobody is going to climb up (except every grasshopper in town, apparently!)

BertieBotts · 04/08/2018 22:59

Gem, I heard that if it's just mucousy that means your cervix is generally getting more open, which is still a good sign but doesn't necessarily mean labour is on the way - probably in the next week or two, though. A bloody show is a more sure sign that it's likely to be in the next 48 hours.

Hjkillas · 04/08/2018 23:09

I've had bucket loads of yellow discharge (tmi but it's really elasticated??) Since my last sweep so maybe you're dilating. Think I've got it because I'm at 2-3cm and you keep making the mucus to combat bacteria x

peterpanwendy · 05/08/2018 00:28

Another one with discharge 🙋🏻‍♀️ and I've also had a really bad tummy every single day @Gem173 which is so annoying isn't it?! Asked my midwife about both last time and she said not to worry it's all just a sign things are getting ready :)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/08/2018 04:16

Yep loads of yellow discharge for the last week or so here, apparently just a sign of cervix getting ready. I wish my plug would come away!

Emmasmum2013 · 05/08/2018 06:21

I noticed yellow discharge too!! Hadn't really noticed it since yesterday as I normally wear dark underwear. But yesterday I thought I'm gonna use a pad in case this is mucous plug. It wasn't plug but definitely lots of discharge.

And I've had an upset stomach since yesterday. Knowing my luck though that'll be because of the chinese food I had for dinnerConfused

milney25 · 05/08/2018 07:59

@WaitingforToto sorry to hear you potentially have a breech baby. I was told I did at a growth scan just over 36 weeks. I did try the ECV - it was painful, but not unbearable. I had some bruising the next day. In my case they weren't able to shift baby, he was really wedged in! I went on to have a section on 25th July. I really wanted a natural birth, and so I am pleased I tried to turn him. But 11 days on, recovering well from the section and it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would!

Hjkillas · 05/08/2018 10:08

Ladies, this is not a drill!!
Upon waking up and having my morning wee while at making a cup of tea I had a small gush..then another..then another . And I've just filled a pad in 10 minutes!
It's happening!!!
Oh god I'm crapping my packet 😂😂

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/08/2018 10:11

Eek good luck @Hjkillas !! Hoping it happens to me today too!
