Hello all! I got my BFP this morning at 10dpo and am apparently due 1st March with my third baby. Now feeling that familiar paranoia about what might go wrong, but hopeful all will be well. Is anyone else due in March yet? 😬

I meant DD who is 6 and DS who is 4!

HidCat · 03/07/2018 10:49

Hi everyone. Had my bfp this morning at 11dpo. Puts me with a due date 14th March. Very tentative as had a MC in Jan at 11 weeks but hoping this is the one.

mostimproved · 03/07/2018 10:57

Welcome @hermagsjesty and hope the doctors goes well tomorrow and your thyroid doesn't give you any issues. My DS is 7 and we have told him already as it was making it difficult to talk about when he was around, so it just seemed easier to bring him in on the secret! He is so excited to be a big brother.

@HidCat congratulations, I remember you from the June baby bus and am so glad you got your BFP this month Flowers

Hermagsjesty · 03/07/2018 11:04

@mostimproved That’s a good point re telling your DS. The nausea hasn’t kicked in yet, but I felt pretty terrible in both my previous pregnancies so we may find we need to tell the kids at that point, so they understand why I’m constantly needing a lie down!

HidCat · 03/07/2018 11:40

@mostimproved Hi! I think a few have come over from the June bus haven't they? There's certainly a few familiar names on here!

I haven't told DS and plan to hold off as long as possible. After the MC it was hard to have tell him that the baby had died. He keeps asking if there's another baby in my tummy yet.

I assume we're all in the 4-6 weeks range, how are everyone's symptoms? Big thing for me is early nausea. Saw an advert for chocolate last night and nearly lost my dinner. I hope that one disappears quickly!

Simplyenchanted · 03/07/2018 12:01

@murphyrocks @ladycarlotta @mostimproved he is lovely! I tested and I couldn’t look at it so he did and squeaked his head off. We were at a family bbq that evening and he was desperate to say something and I felt like a right meanie telling him to ssh!!
God I love P&P, it never fails to give you a little boost 😄😍. He very much knows my ways?!! 😂
@hidcat Congratulations
In terms of symptoms, my nipples could cut glass it feels like, I’m really tired and I’m obsessed with roast beef crisps 😬

thefirsttimer · 03/07/2018 12:19

@frankiefumbles don't apologise! your dream does sound much better this time! Did you tell your DH?!

@Simplyenchanted Your DH does sound lovely, bless him!

Welcome to our new March-ers! Lots of us now!

I vomited for the first time last night ladies Envy! Up until then it had just been nausea alone... back to that so far again this morning so I'm hoping it might have been a one off?! No chance of that though is there 🙈

ladycarlotta · 03/07/2018 12:28

The fact that my DP was a big BBC P&P fan really recommended him to me when we first met.

The in-laws are coming to stay, and we've decided to tell them I'm pregnant rather than try to hide it from them. I get so tired, it'll just make life easier. I don't really feel ready, and quite guilty as we won't be telling my parents anytime soon, but needs must. Hoping at least their response will be more energetic than @Murphyrocks' experience, which does sound dismal. Sorry that happened!

Olivia2019 · 03/07/2018 13:02

@thefirsttimer
For the 1st time yesterday I was sick as well. I felt nauseous all day at work and last night it happened. Since yesterday I feel like Im having a horrible hungover and Im so exhausted. I thought once pregnant I wouldn't have to deal with that hungover feeling Grin

sunlighthouse · 03/07/2018 13:08

Thanks everyone for the welcome! This is a very busy and lively thread, I like it!

@rachaelt when I was pregnant with my first I was on an antenatal thread with lots of ladies around your age and loads of them had natural births. Don't think late 30s would automatically equal c section these days Smile

RachaelT · 03/07/2018 13:10

Thanks @sunlighthouse 🙂

sunlighthouse · 03/07/2018 13:16

The only symptom I have noticed so far is tiredness but I'm only 4 weeks so still plenty of time! Those who are already on the nausea stage when did it start?

SuperSharpShooter82 · 03/07/2018 13:22

Hi all!

I definitely can't keep up with this thread now! So many Marchers!

Yes to the hungover feeling @Olivia2019! That is exactly how I feel most days, although haven't been sick yet. Hoping to avoid that as didn't have any sickness with DD.

@Murphyrocks sorry the reaction wasn't what you wanted. Perhaps they are just holding back as it is so early. @ladycarlotta I am very much in the camp that thinks telling people is good. Although I do think you should be selective and I am not saying you should post it on social media just yet or start setting up the nursery! Just that I am very much someone who would want the supportive of close family and friends should something go wrong. In my opinion it is easier to tell people if something does go wrong rather than having to bottle stuff up and pretend all is normal. I've told my parents, MIL and my boss. Heaven forbid anything went wrong but it's not something to be ashamed of and I would definitely want support and understanding if it did. That said, I also understand that it is hugely personal and we've all just got to do what is right for us xxx

@Sarahandduckarehigh and @Shampooeeee I'm a fellow toddler breastfeeder! DD is 19 months and still feeds at bedtime. I'm not really sure what my plan is for the future but I'm not actively weaning her yet. I guess I am hoping that she weans naturally as this pregnancy (hopefully) progresses! Do any of you have any aversion yet? Heard it can get quite bad but not sure when it starts?

Shampooeeee · 03/07/2018 13:37

No aversion here. I’m actually getting a bit worried about my lack of symptoms. I’ve had some cramps and bloating in the last couple of days and I’m tired but that’s about it. Only 5+4 so hopefully those reassuring symptoms will appear soon.

RedRobin7 · 03/07/2018 13:45

I also don't really have any symptoms either! I'm 5+5 today. Yesterday I felt sick all day but I think that was due to working in 29 degrees all day! Then I felt quite bloated but that was after a very green smoothie. Really wish I had more symptoms as that's at least a good sign! I'm glad I'm not the only one though!

Also my MIL said she didn't know she was pregnant with my DH for months because she had no symptoms!

thefirsttimer · 03/07/2018 14:02

Also yes from me to the hungover feeling @Olivia2019 and @SuperSharpShooter82 - even down to the craving for salty foods that I get the day after drinking!

I'm 5+4 today and I'd say the nausea has been getting worse each day for at least a week. Those of you not having many symptoms yet I would definitely count yourself lucky, although I know it's hard not to analyse every little thing.

No food aversions here yet, but I'm swinging between a complete lack of appetite and being starving hungry! DH has declared he must be getting sympathy symptoms for me as he is also starving... he fails to mention that's his permanent state however! Grin

WildFlower2018 · 03/07/2018 14:04

@Murphyrocks I'm sorry your parents weren't so excited. How disappointing Sad

earlier in the thread, people were talking about pregnancy dreams. I had my first one ast night. In it, I was pregnant and being held hostage in a flat. Hostage takers wanted to stab me in the belly and kill baby to teach hostages a lesson. Very odd. Shook me up a bit but then I reminded myself it was just a weird preggo dream and to ignore it!

As for symptoms, I'm around 4+4 today so still very early days. Was feeling super fatigued end of last week but I'm thankfully feeling much better at the minute. I think that might be due to being self employed, so I keep going off for naps if I feel like it 😂

I think I'm getting a few other symptoms now too. Sore gums and metallic taste in mouth. It's almost like I've been sucking a metallic tasting sweet or something? It's not too bad though.

thankfully the bloated tummy has eased off too.

I also think my blood pressure must be a bit low due to feeling a bit dizzy when getting up/moving around. Apparently normal according to Dr Google.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Tuesday afternoon 😊

HidCat · 03/07/2018 14:12

@sunlighthouse I've already got it, started 9dpo! Thinks that's unusual though. Also craving salty foods, having dizzy spells and almost threw up at the thought of chocolate last night. I know I normally have low blood pressure (was in hospital with a suspected blood clot a couple of weeks ago as blood pressure was really low and having chest pains due to asthma) so that probably explains the dizziness.

Have any of you registered with a midwife yet. Think I'll give it another week before calling them.

Wineandchoccy · 03/07/2018 14:17

HidCat I have got my booking in appointment in 3 weeks, the 1st time I was pregnant I left it a few weeks and then they had to squeeze me in so that I got a scan in time.

Wineandchoccy · 03/07/2018 14:18

I’m working from home and could quite happily go for a sleep my 3 year old keeps waking really early as well Angry

Murphyrocks · 03/07/2018 14:20

Hi @HidCat, I remember your moniker from the June baby bus too, so glad you got your bfp! I'm 4+6, due 6th or 7th March depending on which app you believe! Guess I'll get my official date at the booking in appointment in a couple of weeks. Then the viability scan the week after that!

thefirsttimer · 03/07/2018 14:31

@HidCat I have my booking in appointment with the midwife tomorrow - will let you all know how it goes. Slightly nervous to be honest, just feeling apprehensive about all the information etc I'm expecting to get. I'm sure I'll feel reassured afterwards though.

Hermagsjesty · 03/07/2018 14:38

I just did the NHS online due date calculator and according to that I am 5wks pregnant, due on 5 March which is further along than I expected. Sorry for those feeling sick already. I don’t have symptoms yet, I don’t think - except I’ve completely gone off yogurt!!

RachaelT · 03/07/2018 14:39

How did you go about registering with a mid-wife? I went and saw my GP yesterday but he didn't mention anything about the next steps - other than eat well and take things easy!

As I assume it's now on my notes will it automatically happen?

thefirsttimer · 03/07/2018 15:06

@RachaelT I think it's different in every area which is quite unhelpful! Here we don't see the GP at all - just phone the midwife team at the hospital directly when you get a positive test and they book you in. I wasn't expecting my appointment to be until I was around 8 weeks but they said they just offer the next available slot so tomorrow (at 5+5) it is!
