not offended kiteflying - as with any profession there are bound to be some good ones and some not so good anyway - i know i come across some really good solicitors on the other side of transactions (I do separations and divorces etc as well as houses - and i think the system of who does what is different in scotland anyway) and some hopeless ones, but as i say, its the same with most jobs.

think i will maybe skip some of the introduction to the book, and get onto the exercises and cd - can always go back to the back patting at the end if i want to.

Annie75 · 05/06/2007 17:05

Hehe - your hypno class, TT, sounds amusing -I'm sure I'd spend a lot of it guffawing. Not that I'm a complete cynic - think I'll try out the Natal Hypnotherapy CD for homebirth. My yoga teacher told us to imagine we were stirring a big vat of porridge the other week, and I found myself saying out loud, 'Mmm, porridge' (it was an evening class and I hadn't eaten) and really felt as though I'd ruined the general concentration .

Hi Gill - there's quite a useful alternative medicine site with a piece about migraines, - I sent it to a friend recently, but note you're not supposed to take Feverfew during pregnancy.

I had a reflexology appt at lunchtime and boy, it was good. A full 45 mins and I felt as though I was floating afterwards. Highly recommended

Has loler exchanged yet?

angie0201 · 05/06/2007 18:47

hi thanks for all the welcome messages, would just like to say that for headaches i found this great thing called 4head does cost a bit but lasts forever just rub on to your head its fantastic
oh and GillL i had a new scanning equipment tested on me was the first person to have it and it was fantastic much clearer than the other scanner i had with DD, so nice to get such a clear scan pic
hope the potty training is going well.

growingbagpuss · 05/06/2007 21:35

Gilll - ok - plug "anadin extra" into Google - v useful information page that actually tells you NOT to take it esp in 3rd trimester and not while b/feeding. Interesting - I have learnt something v interesting today! I don't undestand why coz it says its only paracetamol, aspirin and caffiene - i think it might be the aspirin which is the problem - and that would explain why not to ever take it while b/feeding.

If I could work out how to do link a I'd do a link!

realised posts crossed earlier and you'd already answered questions about meds!!

saturn · 05/06/2007 21:42

Babylovesmuffins - thanks for the tip re v shaped pillows. Had one bought for me as apparently they are realy good for breastfeeding, but hadn't thought of using it in bed - just been using normal pillows and seem to be rearranging them constantly through the night. Last night used the v shaped pillow like you suggested and had a great nights sleep. thank you!!

lizziemun · 05/06/2007 21:51

Have finally got my laptop back (hurray) so will back posting at more normal times from tomorrow.

bananabump · 05/06/2007 22:01

link

bananabump · 05/06/2007 22:05

lizziemum, Several of us on here have complained of pains in the bump over the past few months, followed by the bump mysteriously getting bigger seemingly overnight, so it probably is stretching pains! Weird how it works.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 05/06/2007 22:07

Thank s Banana

bananabump · 05/06/2007 22:13

When I saw that pic I broke into slightly hysterical giggles! Whaaaat? That's got to come out of where? And it's got 8 weeks left to grow first?

hahahahahah

Morning all. I had a good day yesterday despite feeling tired but that seems to be a theme these days. Dh had the tele on til nearly 11 in the bedroom last night and dd was up at 6. I really feel it when I don't get my 8 hours, especially considering I always wake up in the night to go to the loo.

Annie - thanks for the link. I'll check that out later.

angie - I've used 4head before and unfortunately it doesn't do a thing. The potty training is going really well, thanks. Dd wore the same pair of knickers for 12 hours yesterday!! She had no accidents (not even a slight leak) and even did another poo on the potty. I'm amazed how well she's done. It's not even been 2 weeks.

growingbagpuss - thanks for the info. That's a shame that I won't be able to take Anadin while bf. I suppose the headaches are a small price to pay.

Morning Kiteflying When do you start your hypno course, btw?

Hello Gill - I feel for you having a small child and little sleep... I was talking to my DH today about when to start maternity leave and I'd been thinking two weeks before my due date - but then it occurred to me it's my last chance to sleep when I want to etc for a long while (especially if we have any more children) so reckon I'll start leave three weeks before due date (not that I'm doing especially well at concentrating these days). Do you have family that could come and look after your daughter for at least a day a week so you can catch up on the zeds?

And hello Angie - nice to see another face (er, so to speak) in the August club

Pengy · 06/06/2007 10:49

Hi everyone

I've been checking this thread out for awhile now and thought I should join in! I'm having my first baby, due 24th August so a mixture of excited and scared!!

Not very prepared but have a chunk of annual leave to take before ML starts so finishing at 34/40. Feeling tired ++ not helped by moving flat in 10 days then an exam to sit 10 days after that! Must be mad...

TT I'm also looking at the icandy cherry. Where did you get yours from and could you negotiate a discount/extras thrown in?

SweetyDarling · 06/06/2007 11:05

Bananna - that pic looks like a toddler!! Don't they more than double in size between 31 weeks and D-Day? That baby would be the size of a 5 year old if it doubled in size!!
I had a scan the other day and they estimated babydarling at about 2 pounds 1 ounce at 27 weeks (about average) so he's still got a long way to go! Had the 4D scan which was amazing!!! He looks just like my grandfather .
I was amazed at the detail you can see - little fingers, lips, toes etc. So nice to get a sneak preview! Got a DVD of the scan as well which I got copied so my fam in Aus can have a look - they are soooo excited.
Have been getting a LOT of of downward kicking which leaves me feeling rather sore, and he's so strong now!
Anyone else finishing up work soon?

loler · 06/06/2007 11:06

Hello Pengy - I'm with you on the moving stress!

No - we still haven't exchanged - some tripe about the boiler in our house needing to be serviced! Hopefully today - again not holding breath! My main panic today is the removal people being booked up before we can go ahead and book them.

Got my GTT tomorrow - am stuffing my face this today as not allowed to eat anything after 9pm.

I finally get to see my midwife next week (last time 16 wks) - am really interested in how big she thinks this one is getting - feels huge (getting on for the size of that picture!). Also think blood pressure will be sky high with the move!

SweetyDarling · 06/06/2007 11:07

Oh, and welcome Pengy!!

SweetyDarling · 06/06/2007 11:14

Don't envy you moving at this stage Loler. How many weeks are you now? Are you moving far?
Just don't go doing too much - delegate, delegate, delegate!

tokentotty · 06/06/2007 11:16

Hello and welcome Pengy ! Lovely that you feel like joining us. Have you actually been to see an iCandy anywhere ??? I tried it out and bought it the same day so might be too late to try and do a "but if we're buying two what can you do" kinda deal. Anyway, all in I think it was about £360ish for the chassis & buggy parts, carry cot, footmuff thing and changing bag. Whereabouts are you as I got mine from a shop in East London ?

Oooooh just got club wembley tickets for George Michael on Sunday. Never seen him in concert.

tokentotty · 06/06/2007 11:19

Oh, and finish work 3 weeks tomorrow which means I should have six whole weeks of TT time at home before my due date !! Cannot wait quite frankly....

MrsBadger · 06/06/2007 11:23

I saw an iCandy Apple (I think) whilst rummaging for grobags in TKMaxx on Sunday.
It was absolutely colossal, but none of the space seemed to get translated to the baby, if you see what I mean - it was all chassis and sticky-out wheels. Seemed a bit of a waste.

tokentotty · 06/06/2007 11:27

Spot on MrsB - the Apple's pretty poo imo. Is incredibly heavy too. The Cherry is a world away from that as I think they learned quite a few lessons
