pinkranger - I'd figured that from a differnt thread - ages ago, someone asking about Darenth... are you a planned hosp birth or home?

i think u r due a couple of weeks after me aren't u? I'm due 6th . I would ask who's ur GP but that is a bit cheeky!!

growingbagpuss · 04/06/2007 16:44

Annie - A TRIKE??!

kiteflying · 04/06/2007 16:57

Hello Annie and congratulations to our new bride!

I have forsworn any further maternity clothes and baby purchases as I have now booked a natal hypnotherapy course. Maggie Howell's courses are discounted by 50% and we got the last spot at the one being held in Putney. Thankfully I had reserved a long time ago but the price was putting me off confirming. Now it is an easy swap for the NCT course we did not do.

My DP thinks I am already over-prepared so not sure this news will be warmly greeted at home.

Baby kicking madly at the moment. My favourite time of the day! Love imagining her/him dancing and swimming in there.

kiteflying · 04/06/2007 16:59

Crossed posts. I must type faster! TT are you already on yourway to hypno classes? Tell what you think tomorrow.

Annie75 · 04/06/2007 17:00

I know - it was a hasty holiday buy in Paris. DH was getting v annoyed as we were wandering round all these lovely Parisian baby shops and I couldn't make my mind up about the simplest of things. So I bought this big, heavy wooden trike to placate him which I then had to lug across the Paris metro...

Will post some pics as soon as I manage to download 'em (haven't tried it before on a work pc).

Ooh, let me know how the hypnobirthing class goes, TT - fingers crossed you don't get the giggles...

jem1969 · 04/06/2007 17:02

kiteflying- where in putney is the course?? (not that there are any spaces left...)
do you live in putney? (did I know that already- can't remember?)

jem1969 · 04/06/2007 17:05

Lots of wedding congrats Annie- and what a lovely sunny weekend to go to Paris!

kiteflying · 04/06/2007 17:08

Jem, no we live in North London but as Maggie Howell is based in Hampshire the few London weekends are held in the SW zone. If you get on the website - natalhypnotherapy should bring it up on google - the weekend courses are listed. She is not taking any of them personally as she is about to have a baby herself though. Possibly the reason for the heavy discount. They might have a cancellation so you could try.

I can't really do evening courses as can't vouch for either DP or myself staying awake long enough, so we are doing the Active birth weekend next weekend and the hypno on the first weekend of July.

Babylovesmuffins · 04/06/2007 17:10

TT definitely let us know how the Hypnobirthing goes! I'm starting my course in July.

Annie - my DH is the same about going shopping on hols!! When we were in Singapore I kept dragging him back to the Indian markets so that I could buy lots of (very essential) stuff - poor thing!!

jem1969 · 04/06/2007 17:17

All confused now- on the website they seem to allow me to book a place on that Putney course in July. I'd quite like to do it but given that I've bought the CDs and the cost of NCT classes etc.. (Also have a feeling DH won't be too keen- NCT is already taking up one weekend...)
Can't cope with all these decisions!

kiteflying · 04/06/2007 17:20

Go for it. Would be good to see you there.

Unless you are strappingly confident in your abilities following CD practice (I keep sending mysefl to sleep instead of into deep relaxation)

jem1969 · 04/06/2007 17:26

It'll be a breeze- will just pop out!
Will test the water with DH this evening
My friend at work did a course actually and said she would probably have been happier if her DH wasn't there as he kept asking stupid questions and embarassing her.. When the woman was trying to get them 'under' he was complaining that it just wasn't working for him and he found it hard to switch his mind off. She did point out that it wasn't really him she was worried about...

kiteflying · 04/06/2007 17:36

Oh how funny. I can imagine my DP being the same. He is so good about coming to ante-natal appts but has a tendency to ask questions that quite honestly I could have answered for him.

growingbagpuss · 04/06/2007 18:26

Sorry Annie - been a bit slow - hadn't actually realised you'd GOT married!! - I thought you'd just been to a wedding....durrrrrr

oh yes.. congrats!!

angie0201 · 04/06/2007 19:50

hi new to this thread a bit late to join but getting to feel huge now and just been through the worst week of my life potty training DD, hope everyones pregnacy is going well so far i'm due on the 16th and am having another little girl so am hoping it wont be a marthon 20 hours like it was with the first although have heard the 2nd is quicker so praying this is true good luck to you all

loler · 04/06/2007 20:53

Hello Angie - My first was a 20 hourish labour, the second was induced early and still only 6 hours (was a complete breeze!) - My MW said the majority of 2nd births are the easiest (even if you go on to have more - oh dear for me!). All the potty training talk is making me feel like I should do it too!

Conker - another reason not to go for baby monitors is the PIL! We had a nightmare experience when dd was a few weeks old, were up stairs 'discussing' DHs visiting parents when we realised the monitors were still on! They never mentioned it - still would like to know how much they heard, unfortunately they still ring us!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 04/06/2007 20:58

Annie -Congratulations!! Hope you enjoyed it!
lol at a trike! My in laws kept my dh and my ds still plays on it now so it will be well used!
Growing - i am planning a homebirth, dont really want to go into Hos if i can help it, My midwife really pushes them - is it cheeky to ask who you have, i ve got karen!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 04/06/2007 21:00

sorry - welcome Angie ,

Home alone tonight so of fthe have raveoli (sp) and Super noodles

Ceolas · 05/06/2007 07:23

Got my GTT this morning.

[tummy rumbling]

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 05/06/2007 09:05

Good Luck with ceolas - had mine last week but my midwife/system must be different as there were certain food that i HAD to eat!

myweegirl · 05/06/2007 10:02

what a busy lot you were yesterday! hope that all the GTT's, appointments etc go well.

angie welcome - i hope 2nd time around is quicker too (really don't want another 5 hours of pushing - sorry don't mean to worry anyone). but obviously not too quick that we don't make it in time...

has anyone seen or ordered a glider chair from this website? (don't know if my link will work so it's mums2be.co.uk) - £85 seems like a bargain mums2b.co.uk

bananabump · 05/06/2007 10:11

Hi guys, hope everyone's doing ok. Feeling soooo much better after only a few days on the iron tablets, I feel way more alert and human. Is anyone else's baby getting really superhumanly strong?

Mine now has the strength to physically shove me off him when I'm lying on my side so I have to change position, and when he moves everything at once he feel just ENORMOUS, I'm getting quite freaked out! lol

Conkertree, I sympathise with your hip pain in bed, mine are so painful on both sides, and what with the acid when I lie down and baby compressing my lungs and the superhuman stretching he's doing, I'm starting to consider sleeping upright on the sofa or something just to get one restful nights sleep, as the past few nights I couldn't get to sleep before 4am, and dp's up at 6 at which point I have to get up for a wee, then my stomach starts rumbling....

Mrsshuvel · 05/06/2007 11:13

Congrats Annie - Wedding sounds fantastic. We want pics!

Hi Angie, welcome.

Good luck Ceolas

Sorry MyWeeGirl - not used that website so can't help on that one but those chairs definitely seem like a bargin.

Feel for you Banana and Conker. I feel a bit better this morning after a few hours sleep. Not sure how i managed it though as DP was not sleeping well, he had his driving test this morning and was sooo nervous but he PASSED, yay, i'm so proud of him. He can take me to tescos in the car now woo hoo!
