Hellooooo !!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Babylovesmuffins · 31/05/2007 12:48

Hi girls! I have read good reports about the Tummy Tub - I guess we'll just see if LO likes the baby bath first of all before spending any more money!! A bucket could be a good shout though...

TT I'm a 28th June birthday too!! Only I'll have another 3 weeks to work after that Hope you're feeling a bit better - it just seems to take ages to shake bugs and colds at the moment. I'm glad someone else sits with their top up and watches the LO moving about!! It's more interesting than TV at the moment! Everytime DH looks away the LO seems to have a good wriggle...

Banana sorry you're having an off time at the moment - it is starting to get difficult isn't it? The clothes not fitting properly is my main issue at the moment and I'm loathe to buy any more maternity clothes at this stage if I can help it... Hey, at least you've only got 9 weeks to wait - I've still got 12 to go!!! And I can't believe that BB will still be on when we've all got our LO's - now that's scary!!!

Hersetta - good luck with your m/w appointment next week. Will you cope ok without chocolate for 2 days?!? I think I might struggle...

Kite - I think we might buy our pram this weekend - we're going for the Quinny Buzz in Capri (which is the sort of turquoise colour) - we were going to go for grey/black but I'd quite like something brighter - plus SIL is due a few weeks before me and I think they're going for the Buzz in black/grey, and we don't want to end up taking the wrong baby home

Babylovesmuffins · 31/05/2007 12:53

Oh! Forgot to mention - I had my first "giving birth" dream last night!!!!

It was so real but quite strange, as I was actually watching the head crowning between my legs (obviously in RL I'd never be able to get into that position).

AND, I'm pretty sure that the baby was arriving early - i.e. we weren't ready for it!!!

Scary...

tokentotty · 31/05/2007 12:56

Buckets all round !!!
You're kidding about the birthday BLM ? Great time of year for a birthday though isn't it? Loved having my little parties in the summer and being able to play outside...sigh....TT heads into dream sequence of birthdays past....
Oooh, we're finally going to look at prams on Saturday morning so will get to see my one true love, the iCandy, in the flesh so to speak and make a decision as to whether it really is the one for me. Quite excited weirdly, must be the hormones or something I guess !

Oooooh BLM, I dreamt I had my baby last night too!!! Although admittedly it was a girl I had..... Am putting it down as being telepathically linked to my friend on the May '07 thread who DID have her baby girl early this morning.

Babyloves - a mumsnetter is selling a buzz with all the trimmings for 400 - it is red though. Maybe you should have a look?

Glad someone else is trying to steer clear of maternity clothes. I just find that wearing something pretty does wonders for my mood at the moment. I took delivery of an Isabella Oliver ruffle dress yesterday (ebay so not too expensive) and loved trying it on and looking at my bump in it. I have absolutely nowhere to wear such a pretty dress of course.

Hersetta my mw told me the GTT test is totally optional and isn't included in the NICE guidelines. Can you say no or are you worried about your weight being a factor? Good luck with it if you go ahead. I think it was katybird that took a good book along.

Lovely name Caitlin. I like Hannah too. Can't hurt to have a few front runners on the day can it.

Bananabump, hope you can get through the next few weeks without getting too bored. At least you get to see your baby sooner rather than later.

bananabump · 31/05/2007 13:02

When I dreamt about having the baby, he was this huge bonny boy with rosy apple cheeks and curly red hair called Albie.

Strange, neither of us have red hair. It was so specific though...

Love those dreams!

Hersetta · 31/05/2007 13:10

No baby dreams for me yet but I did have a rather vivid one a couple of nights ago that my boyfriend was Hugh Grant !!!! Didn't even know I fancied him ! Embarrassing as well as I've actually met him and spoken to him loads on the phone. A few jobs ago i work for a tax practiced that specialised in sports and entertainment and he was one of my clients!! Claim to fame or what - even spoke to Liz a couple of times!

I don't think i'll have the GTT unless they force me to - my glucose levels so far have been perfect so I really don't want another trek to the hospital if I can get away with it.

BLM - I have been having a daily treat of a handful of M & S chocolate covered raisins after lunch - will have to try and do without for a day or two (sob).

kiteflying · 31/05/2007 13:10

Does anyone remember where that website was that gave us all our stats and how many days countdown etc?

tokentotty · 31/05/2007 13:13

Here Kite

Sorry hersetta I said GTT when I meant the glucose challenge test - you can also say no to.

tokentotty · 31/05/2007 13:13

sorry, no. Ignore !!!

i'm another top up belly watcher - you see so much more than through a top, but dh doesnt always have the patience to wait for the movements, particularly if the tv is on.

I am getting more uncomfortable too, but still loving being pregnant. the babies feet were up at my ribs this morning for the first time in the whole pregnancy. up till now they've always been in the bottom left hand corner.

i've been having lots of baby dreams - but most of them involve me being asleep during the birth. first one i woke up after the birth and had been asleep (or in some sort of coma) so long that dh and his family had named the baby alistair, and i really hated the name (dont hate it in rl incase anyone has it on their list) but i just felt so out of it all.

have had other ones where the midwife insists on putting the baby in a box which is obviously far too small for it, and it has huge long arms and keeps flopping its way out of the box when the midwife turns her back.

but most of all they involve being asleep during labour and not getting to see the baby until long after everyone else has.

bananabump · 31/05/2007 13:24

Kiteflying, here are the two I use:

epregnancy

i-am-pregnant

With the last one, scroll down to almost the bottom and input your due date.

conkertree · 31/05/2007 13:27

oh and really like both those names by the way hersetta.

tokentotty · 31/05/2007 13:38

I think Caitlin's lovely too, always liked that name.

OP posts:
Babylovesmuffins · 31/05/2007 13:57

TT - no not kidding about birthday! I'll be 32 on 28th June

Hersetta - I love the name Caitlin (and get you, mixing with celebrities!!!!)

Conkertree - it might actually be quite nice to be asleep during labour!! I wish I was feeling kicks up high - mine all seem to be low down still...

conkertree · 31/05/2007 14:02

i think i am a couple of weeks ahead of you babylovesmuffins, so you'll no doubt feel them high up before too long - its a weird (but nice) feeling after them being so low since i first felt them.

dh has just bought a wii for his club (he's a youth worker) so has decided to take it home at the weekend to ensure he knows how to work it properly before the kids play with it next week so that might be quite fun - although not sure how energetic you have to be.

tokentotty · 31/05/2007 14:07

BLM - I'm 32 on 28th June this year.....!!!

Oooh would love a go on one of those Wii's - they look great fun !
As for being asleep during labout, my friend's grandmother was completely put out to have her son. The doctor said he saw no reason why a lady should have to go through all that discomfort...

SweetyDarling · 31/05/2007 14:16

I'm 30 on the 21st of June. Sounds like we're going to need a virtual Birthday Cake!!

tokentotty · 31/05/2007 14:36

Brilliant idea !! any others ??

OP posts:
Babylovesmuffins · 31/05/2007 14:37

Oooh! Conkertree, we had DH's Wii home from work at the weekend and it's great fun! You don't need to be too energetic but I did feel a wee bit out of breath afterwards. You can actually just sit on the sofa and play but if you're like me you'll end up jumping round the living room!!

Virtual birthday cake sounds like a good idea Sweetydarling - very healthy too I'll join you and TT for a virtual glass of bubbly...

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 31/05/2007 16:39

Hi ladies, gosh you lot have been busy chatting away, cant seem to keep up these days!!!

Hope we are all well, i am good, had midwife yesterday which was good, baby is head down and i measuring well - 31cm at 28 weeks - hope thats not on the large side

Also ordered the pram today - we have gone for the New Maclearn XLR in blue, we have a big travel system (was ds) that we will use for the first few months but love maclearn prams so it just seem to be the sensible option, i had 4 prams with ds, brought the maclearn last and it was the best one!!

babys room is making slow progress but we now have a white celing and sanded woodwork so some way there!
Take care everyone!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 31/05/2007 16:39

sorry for the bad spelling!

Babylovesmuffins · 31/05/2007 17:03

Hi Pink! Glad all's going well. I had my 28-week appointment this week too. My m/w didn't seem bothered about what way the baby was lying and I really wanted to know! All she could tell me was there was a hard bit down in the pelvic area and a hard bit up to the right of my belly-button - I could have figured that out for myself!! She seemed to think that the baby would keep moving about for a few more weeks yet, so it didn't really matter...

Glad the nursery's coming on well too. Ours is almost finished - we just got measured up for carpet this morning so it should be fitted in next couple of weeks, then we'll have an empty shell to furnish

Leaving on time tonight after article about stress affecting pregnant women, in this morning's Metro!! See you all tomorrow.

conkertree · 31/05/2007 17:04

am with you on the waddling pinkranger - the baby just always seems to find the most uncomfortable place to sit whenever i start walking.

and i dont think i've been able to walk anywhere for about 2 months now without feeling like i need to pee - but then if i stop and see if i really need to go, i very rarely do. knew to expect needing to pee more than usual, but didnt realise by quite how much.
