@ElizabethLemon - a little rest Smile - she’s been very good lately so long may it continue!

We are actually off out this afternoon to a Disney show locally so hoping I don’t break my waters when I’m there Shock. 40+4 now I think

Northernbeachbum · 16/06/2018 11:10

@clareb83 i couldn't agree more!! He has on the whole been a good sleeper so it's not been nice to see. @ElizabethLemon Mainly awake and chilling, watching the reflections in the windows and shoving his hand in dps beard with a fascinated look on his face. Odd bit of grizzling in there. We've got him to sleep now so hopefully he will catch up ok. I'm so sure it's because of too much pass the baby.

@ElizabethLemon glad your infections cleared up but I know what you mean about pumping yourself full of drugs.

@shutupanddance hope you make it through your show without baby appearing :-)

@cookie1831 hopefully your little one takes the hint and makes an effort to arrive soon

ElizabethLemon · 16/06/2018 11:39

@Northernbeachbum sounds cute but I get that it must be frustrating for you! We had a few evenings of cluster feeding where the baby was feeding/fussing constantly for about 5/6 hours with only a few tiny naps in between 😰. He was obviously exhausted and I did start to wonder if he’d ever sleep again!

Flyingfruit · 16/06/2018 11:46

Still waiting for me too! Due tomorrow. Had loads of pain and tightening last night so went to bed thinking this might be it, but nothing! And now just thinking it was probably trapped wind Blush

Alice0606 · 16/06/2018 16:06

41+3 here, 2 membrane sweeps and still nothing!

Inpatient induction booked for Monday, so am really hoping he makes his move before then, but not feeling terribly optimistic.

Hopefully there’ll be a few more babies on the thread soon!

Cookie1831 · 16/06/2018 18:45

Oh alice you poor thing hope bubba gets moving soon! X

Northernbeachbum · 16/06/2018 18:49

@ElizabethLemon it was adorable but I was just worried whether he was ok being awake so long.

Fingers crossed you manage to avoid induction @Alice0606 but if not there was a positive inductions story's thread the other day which might be worth a read

Those of you who had c sections are you driving again yet? Or hoovering?

ClareB83 · 16/06/2018 21:10

Haven't driven or hoovered yet, but I could. It's just I prefer the bus for trips into town and hoovering can wait.

Sorry to those of you who are overdue and struggling! I'm only 38+2 and I just don't understand how this baby has any room. Surely the only way now is out! My bump is still relatively small, a few people have mistaken me for being only 6 months along. I'm 3/5 engaged, all in the right position but still have feet and a bum crashing around on my ribs. My midwife was quite surprised, I guess I have a long baby.

My next appointment is one day before my due date, do you reckon the midwife would do a sweep then? She's not mentioned it at all.

Sounds like the ladies with babies are all doing incredibly well! It's lovely reading through the thread with all our various situations now that we're mid-June.

Watchingmasterchef · 17/06/2018 01:01

I’ve got c section on Monday .. hearing about your babies is lovely
Even though they are fussing and you are all knackered !
Need to get some sleep but finding it difficult for some reason !

Northernbeachbum · 17/06/2018 05:18

@clareb83 good to hear as I'm a week or so behind you. Unfortunately having a heavily shedding black dog means I want to Hoover especially as DS seems to settle to that noise Hmm

@honeybee03 I would have thought if you ask then she would do a sweep but it might not be standard. I felt the same that ds was running out of space in there and he came out long and skinny.....and kicking around a lot which explained a lot too

@watchingmasterchef oooh how exciting, baby is nearly here!!!

Cookie1831 · 17/06/2018 06:25

Only 1 more sleep masterchef so exciting!! Depends on your midwife if you explain you uncomfortable you are maybe?x

Cookie1831 · 17/06/2018 06:26

Sorry that second bit was for honey x

ClareB83 · 17/06/2018 09:17

@Northernbeachbum I downloaded an app with vacuuming sounds and other white noise type sounds, so no need to actually do housework!!

OP posts:
HoneyBee03 · 17/06/2018 17:29

Ah I see, I wasn't sure if it was something they do as standard or if it should be requested. I was awake a lot last night as about once per hour I was woken up by a really painful Braxton hicks. They completely stopped this morning, but I think the baby might have dropped even lower as occasionally today I've had the feeling that it might just fall out (wouldn't that be a breeze?).

Good luck for tomorrow @Watchingmasterchef!! I hope you're enjoying a peaceful sunday.

Watchingmasterchef · 17/06/2018 18:54

Thank you ! So nervous !

Northernbeachbum · 17/06/2018 19:59

Good luck @watchingmasterchef!!! Can't wait to hear the announcement tomorrow Grin

So I've been cuddling DS to sleep after a feed then putting him down. It's working well and he's not doing too badly sleeping using this technique. Getting a lot of "Oooh shouldn't do that" comments. What are others doing? He's so tiny i cant resist cuddling him and doing what's needed for him to sleep.

jadeward89 · 17/06/2018 20:52

Good luck @watchingmasterchef!
@northernbeachbum is there another way to get them to sleep after a feed? Indi falls asleep whilst having her bottle (sleeps through being winded) and stays cuddled in for a bit before being put down. She also sleeps with me sometimes if she’s not settled in her basket. Should also say I did the same with the other 3 too until they were older, making the most of cwtches whilst they couldn’t tell me to leave them alone 😆

hoopdeloop · 17/06/2018 21:20

Well, DS2 has arrived after an emergency c section! Totally wiorth it though

Mummyloves09 · 17/06/2018 21:33

Hi ladies,
Congratulations to all that have had their babies and good luck to the ones still left to give birth.

Happy to check in and see all these births.

For those who remember me baby Amayah came home 2 weeks ago, weighing 6lbs 4oz. She has come home on a little bit of oxygen but she should be off before the winter. She made it home which is the most important thing.

Thanks for all the support that was given.

Northernbeachbum · 18/06/2018 01:13

I have no idea @jadeward89! Glad I'm not alone in what I do, I love his cuddles and it won't be long til they're a thing of the past

Congrats @hoopdeloop!!! How are you?

@mummyloves09 that's fantastic news, I was hoping we'd have an update from you soon! She looks adorable, congratulations on having her home. Must have felt amazing the day you got back! What a little superstar she is

Shutupanddance1 · 18/06/2018 05:58

@Northernbeachbum with my first I’d feed her to sleep and then cuddle. Then once she was a little bigger I’d swaddle her - they are only little and your definitely going to miss when they don’t want to sleep with you

Cookie1831 · 18/06/2018 06:38

Congrats hoop hope you are recovering!
Aw mummyloves she is so beautiful glad she is continuing to thrive x

jadeward89 · 18/06/2018 08:13

Congratulations @hoopdeloop hope you are both doing well.
So happy you got to bring Amayah home @mummyloves09 x

ElizabethLemon · 18/06/2018 08:26

@Mummyloves09 so pleased Amayah is home with you and doing well. She looks so cute snuggled up in her seat.

@Watchingmasterchef good luck today!

@hoopdeloop congratulations! Hope you’re both doing well.

@Northernbeachbum we are feeding to sleep then transferring to sleepyhead. He does sleep in the sling too... Just do what you feel is right, I had a relative imply I was spoiling my tiny baby by holding him too much 😅. In a few months I may well be going mad because the baby won’t settle without being fed/cuddled but I’ll deal with that then, at the moment my baby needs to be close to feel relaxed and that’s fine.
