I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

I bought the e45 itch cream. Pharmacist said it was ok. I’ve put it in the fridge. First application has soothed it a bit, let’s see what bedtime brings!

My symptoms this week are waking up around 4am, being tired in the pm. Swollen feet, I am lucky enough to be able to have my feet up in the evening which helps. Irritable more often than normal! Less able to concentrate at work and generally if I have a busy day then I’m wiped out the next day. The rash might be pregnancy related, I don’t know but that as well perhaps!

I feel better than I did in the first trimester though!

@Milknosugar1 my NCT classes don't start until 23rd August even though I'm due in early October 😬 I guess it's a regional thing. Everything I've read said they should start round 30-32 weeks but not for me.

I have decided to just do an online hypnobirthing course. Like you I think actual classes would be much better for OH but I can't justify the cost really. Especially not as the house move keeps throwing up new costs and eating into my contingency money!

My yoga teacher is doing an active birth partners class which I think (hope) will be enough for my OH together with the NCT.

And lol at being caught checking out your underboob 😆

Belles86 · 03/07/2018 09:45

@RhiBee29 I'm permanently in some 'sliders' at the moment, it's all I can wear. Sliders4life

@Milknosugar1 LOL. To be honest, I think OH has now got used to this sort of behaviour from me. I'm like an actual monkey.. Third tri in a week and a half, very tired and emosh.

@ATP1000 YES on the wiped out and the lack of sleep. I took a detour this morning to avoid traffic and got lost and nearly lost my mind with rage.

twobambinos · 03/07/2018 21:16

@milknosugar1 was you dh amused at the boobs.oh no at the bulgy leg veins.
Thankfully no swelling here yet but plenty of other lovely ailments.

I completely fell off this thread for a while and have only just rediscovered it. I’m signed off work sick for the next couple of weeks due to a flare up of hyperemesis and I am then taking annual leave and starting my maternity. It’s a fair bit earlier than I hoped but I don’t feel like I could have managed much longer. At least now I can rest as much as possible with other children around.
I have gained a stone and a half which I imagine is because the hyperemesis is preventing me from doing much. I’m not vomiting anywhere near as often as I was but feeling really poorly and dry heaving etc. Oh the joys!
I think I may have to replace all the newborn baby clothes as I can’t find them anywhere. I’ve got the 0-3 stuff but I can’t find any of the newborn or up to 10lb things. Where’s the cheapest place do you think to get a few bits from?
My skin is really itchy at the moment so I might have to get some of that e45 itch relief cream and give it a try. I think it’s probably down to the heat. How is everyone coping in the hot weather? Staying cool is certainly a challenge.

Havetothink · 03/07/2018 22:29

Sainsbury 's Tu range is pretty good for baby clothes.

I am willing it to just rain a little bit, or some clouds. I can't seem to win between underwear that just sticks your boobs together and underwear that pokes and rubs in the middle. The thought did occur to go braless but at a 34g I'm not sure I dare, especially at work Hmm

justtowarm · 03/07/2018 22:40

@Havetothink the thought is going braless sounds amazing... unfortunately my boobs leak occasionally now, another joy 🙈😂

2ndPGchimp · 04/07/2018 09:00

@Hotchocolate86 I am sorry you are still suffering so badly, but glad you have a plan.

Is anyone else getting nosebleeds? I can't work out if it is heat or pregnancy related, or both. Had a spontaneous one on a packed train this morning, wearing a white top of course!

EffRam · 04/07/2018 10:09

@sparkling123 ooh thanks I'm going to check out the comfort bras at Asda! I'm also on the petite size and finding my back size has grown way more than actual boobs, sadly, making it tricky to find anything!

I'm also on the hunt for maternity swimsuits for summer holiday. Have ordered a selection that I can try on and return. Will update with success... WHY is everything blue and navy stripes?! It really is the pregnancy uniform.

Doll87 · 04/07/2018 10:46

Hi everyone! I'm 27+5 weeks and am so ready to have baby! Obvs I don't want her right now as I want a healthy happy baby but I can't wait to not be pregnant anymore lol!

One thing I wanted to ask everyone, are you still taking any preg tablets? I've been using pregnacare since I fell preggo but I just keep forgetting to take them! I feel so guilty 😫

@Milknosugar1 you missed out not having to worry about what you can and can't eat and having a LARGE GLASS OF CRISP COLD WHITE WINE 💕 lol!

Totally with you on the poop/piles worry! My mum gave me something else to worry about the other day when she told me her friend suffered with vaginal piles in her pregnancy! Now I have passed it one to everyone else, your welcome 🤦🏻‍♀️

unicornchaser · 04/07/2018 11:58

@effram, I hate everything maternity wear at the moment! I have just bought all my holiday clothes from the likes of primark & new look in stretchy waist bands and a size up.
Exception being my swim costumes & tankini which I got from maternity range at Asda/Tesco.

I am still taking the heathly start tablets I got at my booking appointment @Doll87. I got like 200+ tablets from her and she told me to take them the full way through so I have continued. A lot of people stop after the first tri I think though?

@Milknosugar1 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so so much to look forwards to! That is so gross and so unfair, I always knew men were lucky, but never did I realise how lucky until I fell pregnant 😂 x

Trill27 · 04/07/2018 14:20

For those asking about hypnobirthing courses, I went with my partner to a first session yesterday and we both found it really useful. It was a four hour class and it was great to sit for that length of time and concentrate on planning for the birth together. The teacher told us loads of useful information that was new to us, and there was a real emphasis on how important the dads are in supporting the mums in labour. It was way more logical/scientific than I expected, not hippie-ish at all! It was a small class so there was lots of opportunity to ask questions and the teacher set up a whatsapp group in case you want to find anything more out. It was quite expensive but I really found it worthwhile and am looking forward to the next class. The choice on whether to go for it or not might be more based on your personality - I am a bit of a control freak and always like to read up on things to get the most information possible, so found it all quite comforting. (More so than the midwife appts.)

EffRam · 04/07/2018 17:08

We are doing a private antenatal course (similar to nct but different company) and they offer a one day hypnobirthing course discounted as we are doing antenatal. I'm going to do that. I think I would be fine with the books and CDs I have, im Enjoying them, but I really want my husband on board with me and I think he'll do better from the practical session and someone that's not me explaining it all to him!

YES TO COLD WHITE WINE

TinyTerror1 · 04/07/2018 19:56

Just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes 😢 anyone else?

RhiBee29 · 05/07/2018 06:46

Oh no @TinyTerror1 that sucks. I haven't been tested for it, what made them test you?

TinyTerror1 · 05/07/2018 09:20

History of polycystic ovaries. I almost forgot to mention it at my booking appointment too!

I felt really awful yesterday when I found out, like I was already failing to look after my baby properly 😖 and of course I will almost certainly have to give birth on the labour ward now rather than the mlu. Feeling a bit low in general. A bit more sleep would probably be good!

ATP1000 · 05/07/2018 16:46

I agree with Milk @Tinyterror1, GD is definitely not your fault. I’m being tested soon as I’m geriatric at 37!! 🙈 You did the best thing you could have done for the baby by being tested, not that everyone needs to be tested but it made sense based on your medical history. And now you should get the care you need to make sure everything will be ok.
Have you visited the labour ward yet? My one apparently also has a pool and Swiss balls etc, it’s just not quite as chilled out as the birth centre and you’re closer to the drugs!
